Gunfighter's Ride is a short novel written by Carl Syphrett. The hero, Jimmy Hedgecock, longs to leave his hometown and travel the world. He gets his chance when he inherits a gelding and joins the Pony Express. his travels plunge him into random adventures as he tries to deliver the mail and the things that get in his way. This book contains examples of: * AbnormalAmmo: Bullets carry magic spells. * AnachronismStew: The Civil War lasted ten years, the Dakota tribes have a treaty they renew every presidential election and control their lands from behind a wall, the Pony Express has lasted years longer than the original. * CoolHorse: Black who seems to be some kind of spirit. * TheGunslinger: Jimmy. * HumongousMecha: Stalking Wolf builds one out of spirits. * SealedEvilInACan: Several monsters run into this. * TheUnreveal: The wizard's name.
