There's also potential for AnAesop for kids, too. Typically, the kid will have had enough of their authority figure's rules and punishments and wish they had an (excessively) Gentle Touch, leading to a BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor moment and the kid [[WeWantOurJerkBack begrudgingly realizing the importance of a Firm Hand in his or her life]]. That said, the duality of this {{trope}} allows room for a DoubleAesop in which the grown-up may realize that their ward is a lot better than given credit for, and resolve to be a bit more lenient.

* ''Manga/SpyXFamily'': At the beginning of the story Loid has a lot of trouble getting his adoptive daughter Anya to study, since she suffers from bad memories of all the tests she was forced to do during her time as a [[EscapedFromTheLab lab experiment]], not to mention Loid's way of teaching is boring and based on repetition. Then an old retired professor, [[AbsentMindedProfessor Sigmund Authen]], becomes their new neighbour and accepts to act as Anya's tutor in Classical Language, using Anya's interest in [[ShowWithinAShow Spy Wars]] as a basis for his teachings. The result? Anya ends up getting the SECOND best grade in Classical Language in her finals. This makes Loid realize that, because he always saw learning as a means to an end in his spy job, he never once consider that learning could be an enjoyable experience.

* ''WesternAnimation/Leo'': The 5th grade class's original teacher, Mrs. Salinas, was a much nicer and more lenient teacher, but she ends up going on a maternity leave early in the school year, and is replaced by the much grumpier and old-fashioned Ms. Malkin, who derides teaching tools like laptops or encouragement stickers. The students hate her, but it's shown later on she's tough on them because she genuinely wants them to reach their greatest potential and is deeply hurt when she overhears how much they can't stand her and that their progress over the school year was actually due to Leo's kinder help rather than her own stricter methods.

* ''WesternAnimation/{{Oddballs}}: In "Raising Toasty", James and Max fall into the dynamic. James is the gentle touch, being nurturing and affectionate towards Toasty, and being understanding when he screws up. Max is the firm hand, being a strict disciplinarian who is more interested in using Toasty as a guinea pig (echoing back to how Max's parents raised ''him''). Predictably, James and Max end up clashing over their different parenting styles, [[spoiler:angering Toasty to the point of a FaceHeelTurn]].
