* BruceWillis's character Korben Dallas in ''Film/TheFifthElement'' is introduced as such even ''before'' he gets behind the wheel via a phone call with his mechanic. ''In his first scene''. Fittingly, he's an ex-Starfighter pilot turned cab driver - in ''New York City''. There is a ChaseScene that show cases his driving "skills". And, like the Star Wars example above, driving in the future is a 3-d experience.

* Yui in ''Anime/LuckyStar''... despite ''working'' as a traffic cop! (She ''was'' obeying the speed limit, despite the stunts she pulled!) Considering the entire first time we see her drive is an ''InitialD'' ShoutOut, that ''is'' saying something. It's also worth noting that despite driving like a maniac, she proves herself to be ''extremely'' skilled in driving, pulling off some truly amazing stunts.

* In ''Fanfic/StarlightOverDetrot'', Sweet Shine (now calling herself 'Taxi') regards the rules of the road as merely guidelines, and is the absolute master of offensive driving, up to and including CarFu (but Celestia help you if you lay so much as a scratch on her baby...) [[spoiler: For a long time it was implied that Hard Boiled was a CaptainCrash, with several NoodleIncident references about why he's not allowed to drive. However, it turns out the reason he's not allowed to drive is that, once he gets behind the wheel, he turns into an adrenaline junkie ''maniac'' who makes Taxi look like a cautious driver in comparison.]]

* DrBombay's Calcutta (Taxi Taxi Taxi) is about a song about a taxi driver in Calcutta (duh). Granted, the inference in the song to this fact is him saying he's almost blind and has no license (but he always finds the clutch). Played straighter in the video, however, which shows him, among other things, [[CrazyAwesome driving from ''outside'' his driver side window]].

* The [[MeaningfulName aptly titled]] fanfic ''[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/2029723/1/Wild-Ride Wild Ride]]'' has [[WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko Jeremie Belpois]] as this trope. His friends don't enjoy themselves at all while he's driving and he, for his part, is confused by their utter panic.

* Madame Medusa in ''Disney/TheRescuers''. In [[StockFootage Cruella de Vil's car, even]]. She was orignally [[WhatCouldHaveBeen meant]] to ''be'' Cruella, but she was eventually made into a new character animated using footage from ''Disney/OneHundredAndOneDalmatians'', especially the driving.

Added DiffLines:

* ''Series/{{Tatort}}'': Well, it kind of depends on the point of view which trope applies more, but ''Professor Boerne'' (the Münster chief coroner) of all people is this mixed with a BadassDriver; he is a chronic speeder in the bicycle city Münster who takes a warning that a traffic light is about to go red as ''invitation'' to hit the gas, and would drive a Porsche 911 cabriolet across a ''golf course'' ([[spoiler:Justified though, to stop a murder from happening]]). This trait is so well-known with the Münster team most members tend to warn him of his "points in Flensburg"[[note]]Flensburg is home to the Federal Traffic Office, which holds the nationwide database of traffic violators and driving licenses; violations of traffic laws are given points, and getting enough in a certain amount of time revokes your license[[/note]] from time to time. Amazingly, the only thing he's ever run over is [[spoiler:a wild boar (at over 150km/h though)]], and he managed to perform a accident-free CarChase through a ''no-car-zone'' right in the first Münster episode.

* In ''Anime/YuGiOh5Ds'', being able to do this without killing yourself is a prerequisite for a duelist who uses a D-Wheel, which means most duelists in the series; the faster the D-Wheel duelist drives, the more powerful the Speed Spells he can use, and the top speed can be around 140 MPH. In the second season, when D-Wheels become far more popular, Neo Domino (and presumably other major cities) [[GenreSavvy take serious steps towards public safety]], restructuring the highways to adapt for D-Wheel duels, and switching to the new "Speed World 2" card with that in mind.

** As a result of both the Mako and this [[TakeThatScrappy little nod]], it has become Fanon that Shepard drives like this always. * Another joke involves the Pope, a popular televangelist, and a cabbie headed to the Gates of Heaven, only to find a long line. St. Peter asks the Pope and preacher to wait while the cabbie is allowed to jump the queue. When the two clergymen protest, St. Peter points out that folks slept through their sermons, but passengers in his cab were praying through the entire trip. This joke was often retold in UsefulNotes/{{Israel}} in TheEighties with the crazy cabbie replaced by the driver of a Jerusalem-Tel Aviv bus, for [[ArabIsraeliConflict rather different reasons]].

* One story from Myth/ClassicalMythology involves Helios's son, Phaeton, wanting to drive his chariot(which served as the actual sun in these myths) to prove he was really his son. Sources vary on whether or not Helios agreed(the versions where he doesn't tend to say Phaeton just took the chariot anyway), but they all agree on the aftermath: Phaeton lost control and the earth would have burnt to a crisp if Zeus hadn't struck him down.

* Granny Weatherwax, in the ''Literature/{{Discworld}}'' novels, believes it's everything else's job to move out of the way of her FlyingBroomstick. This philosophy extends to birds, other witches, trees, tall buildings, clacks towers and mountains. And, because this is [[TheDreaded Weatherwax]] we're talking about, ''they do''. Birds have quickly evolve to fly on their backs so they can watch out for her on the sky. It's something of a minor plot point when public perception of witches as HumanoidAbominations has wavered, leading to her almost getting run down by a cart if she hadn't been tackled off the road in time, so used is she to being the one people go around.

* In Creator/TanyaHuff's ''Literature/TheEnchantmentEmporium'', it alludes to Auntie Catherine driving like crazy because she charmed her car to act like something from NASCAR. Charlie also drives like crazy in one instance, but that was more of an result of driving said car and an improptu interrogation from her to her passenger. The sequel ''The Wild Ways'' confirms that all the [[NeverMessWithGranny Aunties]] drive like crazy.
--> No Gale ever said ''driving like an old lady''. Old ladies in Gale family drove like they owned the roads. And the other drivers. [[OverlyLongGag And the local police department.]] [[UpToEleven And the laws of physics.]]

* Ingrid Brady, the anorexia monk and government spook of the comic neo-noir ''Literature/GetBlank'', certainly qualifies. Not everyone will play chicken with a bunch of Satanist gunmen.

* In ''Literature/TheNekropolisArchives'', one of Matt's friends is a demon cabdriver named Lazlo. He regularly drives through crowds at full speed, with the expectation that anyone in his way get out of it or get run over.
--> ''"Surprise me, Lazlo," I said, "and try not to drive like a maniac for a ch-" That's as far as I got before Lazlo slammed on the gas and I was thrown back against the seat.''

* Creator/NgaioMarsh's Agatha Troy from the ''Inspector Alleyn Mysteries'' series tends to drive [[TheAllegedCar her van]] through the countryside in a manner that most of her (well-bred) passengers ask her if it would be alright to take over driving. Her TV incarnation, played by Creator/BelindaLang is arguably worse, driving said van worth of the infamous Moose Test. Curiously, the only one not bothered by her driving is Alleyn himself.
