* In some works of the Franchise/StarWarsExpandedUniverse, Luke tends towards this. ''Literature/LukeSkywalkerAndTheShadowsOfMindor'' has a notable example; his voice in the midst of emergency is described as "preternaturally calm". Mara Jade directly points it out in ''[[TheThrawnTrilogy Heir to the Empire]]'', when he's been BroughtDownToNormal - no Force skills to draw on, no weapons, unknown hostile world, Imperials trying to find him, wild animals after him, and Mara herself [[CantKillYouStillNeedYou wanting him dead]], and far from being wired with adrenaline he's maddeningly serene to the point of ''being able to fall asleep'' - though he's still [[BroughtDownToBadass very quick-witted, observant, and far from helpless]].

* ''Manga/SeraphOfTheEnd'': Crowley and especially Ferid have a friendly smile on their faces whenever they're committing atrocities. Ferid looks especially happy when he reminisces the times he killed Crowley's, Yuu's, and Mika's comrades and says [["ForTheEvulz It was fun!"]]

** In ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier'', the titular Soldier first appears toward the end of a car chase. Nick Fury is being chased through downtown DC by mooks in [[FalseFlagOperation police cars]], sirens are wailing, bullets are flying, there are some truly spectacular crashes, and then you see him standing nonchalantly in the middle of a busy street. And ''then'' he lazily sidesteps Fury's overturned SUV as it's still flying toward him at traffic speed, missing him by inches. [[spoiler:His total lack of self-preservation instincts is an early clue that he's [[BrainwashedAndCrazy not in control]] [[SympatheticSentientWeapon of what he's doing]]]].

* ComicBook/{{Cyclops}} of the ''Comicbook/{{X-Men}}'' frequently displays this attitude in combat. Including, on at least two occasions, while fighting blind. He's just that much of a control freak.

** Castiel's behavior in his {{EstablishingCharacterMoment introductory scene]] is essentially this -- he walks into the building where Dean and Bobby are waiting for him and continues forward calmly even as they open fire on him, while light bulbs burst in his presence and the building shakes and rattles. When he finally reaches Dean, Dean immediately stabs him in the chest, and his response is to look at the knife with a sort of vague amusement before simply pulling it out.

* Carol of ''ProjectARMS'' is a cute little girl with the power to break and twist things with a thought. When she fights Ryo, she happily sets about breaking every bone in his body while [[http://www.mangafox.com/manga/project_arms/v05/c003/3.html laughing. "Yay!"]] Keith White would also count, [[spoiler:when he gently hugs Alice while she cries to him about how she is under so much pressure and just wants to be free for once. He kindly tells her that it's clear that he needs to change how she and the other children are being treated - before signaling for the kids to be shot.]]

** Journalists too. Comments to the video footage of the ''Challenger'' shuttle disaster reveal that many people don't understand the professional calm of CNN's Tom Mintier and especially Steve Nesbitt at Mission Control ("Obviously a major malfunction"). Nesbitt said later he felt like a house had dropped on him, but he had to continue to relay accurate information as quickly and smoothly as possible. The same was true of the newspeople reporting on the September 11, 2001 attacks.
