* Principal Caplan of ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'', despite being a ReasonableAuthorityFigure most of the time, could be this at times. He is especially quick-tempered when the episode needs a reason for (some of) the rangers to be unable to fight. Sometimes just accidentally bumping into him could warrant a detention.

He is especially quick-tempered when the episode needs a reason for (some of) the rangers to be unable to fight. Sometimes just accidentally bumping into him could warrant a detention. Not surprisingly, though, his ire is usually directed at [[ThoseTwoGuys Bulk and Skull]] rather than the student body at large.

*''Anime/KazeNoShojoEmily'': Ms. Brownell is irked by Emily's [[SpiritedYoungLady attitude]], often humiliates in her in class, and favours the AcademicAlphaBitch Rhoda. Hell, in one of Emily's first days at school, she outright tells her she'll never accomplish anything as a writer. [[spoiler: In the DistantFinale, Emily became a successful novelist and moved to New York after marrying Teddy, showing that she got the last laugh.]]

* In ''Literature/TheSagaOfTuck'' we meet the high school's Principal Nickerson, who thinks a suicide attempt is no reason to skip class and [[spoiler:assigns detention accordingly]].

* From the Literature/WhateleyUniverse, we have Amelia Hartford, who -- despite not having the ''central'' administrative position -- still influences quite a few student affairs, trying to get some of the protagonists expelled, and clearly giving the Alphas preferential treatment. A genuine smile from her managed to seriously creep out her student assistant. And she seems to be in a 'vice principal' position at Whateley Academy.

* ''WesternAnimation/TheOwlHouse'': Principal Bump appears to be a Downplayed version one in his appearances, while he was pretty ok with threatening to [[WouldHurtAChild dissect a child and throwing his students into a detention pit to be brainwashed into behaving better]] and [[AdultsAreUseless dismissive of his school's bullying problem and seemingly unaware the faculty's incompetence]], he isn't doing it out of malice, but rather amorality and a [[BlueAndOrangeMorality skewed view on what's right or wrong]]. Later episodes show him to be something of a ReasonableAuthorityFigure who actually cares about his students and their education, [[SoftSpokenSadist in his own off-putting way]]; his predecessor Principal Faust (seen in “Them’s the Breaks, Kid”), however, is a straight example, as he’s a tyrant who will expel students for even the most minor infractions, like chewing too loudly, squeaky shoes, or shoes that aren’t squeaky ''enough''.

edited BTTF Strickland entry to reflect that he is no longer the page image

* ''Film/BackToTheFuture1'''s Principal Strickland (Creator/JamesTolkan), this Trope's image example, has reached the zen apotheosis of this, to the point that he looks and acts exactly the same across a thirty-year timeframe. Apparently, a sufficiently single minded hate of students is the key to immortality. It runs in the family since ''VideoGame/BackToTheFutureTheGame'' stars his sister Edna, a stuck-up prude and CrazyCatLady that goes on to turn Hill Valley into a police state in another timeline.

* The Dean from ''Film/DoctorInTheHouse1954'' has a low view of the medical students, seeing them as only wanting to smoke, drink, or lounge around. He also has it in for Simon after his fall through the nurses' home skylight to the point where he tries to sabotage his final exam.
