* ''Anime/{{Voltron}}'' is an interesting case, as in the original series, four of six pilots ([[BackupTwin five of seven]] in ''Anime/GoLion'') wore colors that didn't match their lion colors and actually matched the lion of someone else. In ''Voltron: the Third Dimension'' and ''WesternAnimation/VoltronForce'', the suit colors rotated to match the lions (i.e. pilot of the black lion got a black suit, and Allura's uniform changed to blue). In ''WesternAnimation/VoltronLegendaryDefender'', the lion colors rotate to match the suit (i.e. wearer of the red suit got the red lion.)

* ''Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire'' differentiates the members of different Great Houses by a certain hair color/eye color combination. This, heavily coupled with ArtMajorBiology, is actually a plot point - the Baratheon phenotype is invariably dominant over the Lannister one, [[spoiler:and none of King Robert's legitimate children are black-haired or blue-eyed.]]
*** House Stark is gray-eyed and dark brown/black-haired, although this is subverted with Catelyn Tully's additions to the gene pool.
*** House Lannister is green-eyed and blonde.
*** House Baratheon is blue-eyed and black-haired.
*** House Tully is blue-eyed and redheaded.
*** House Tyrell is brown-eyed and brown-haired.
*** House Martell is dark-skinned, black-haired, and dark-eyed.
*** House Targaryen has silver-blond hair and purple eyes.
