->''Only those who have learned the power of the Super-Civilization will be able to save humanity from its greatest crisis: Baranoia, the Machine Empire, which plans to invade the Earth!''
--> - '''The OpeningNarration, which got retired quickly'''.

''Chōriki Sentai Ohranger'' (Super Powered Squadron Ohranger [[hottip:*:"Oh" has many possible meanings, from being an acronym for "Overtech Hardware" to being the Japanese word for "King".]]) is the nineteenth installment in the ''SuperSentai'' series, airing from 1995 to 1996.

Six million years after being exiled from Earth by his creators on Pangaea, the evil robot Bacchushund has returned with his Machine Empire, Baranoia. In order to defeat the threat, five officers of UAOH (United Airforce Overtech Hardware) must use technology from Pangaea itself to become the mighty Ohranger team.

The show commemorated the [[MilestoneCelebration 20th anniversary]] of the SuperSentai Series, following the retroactive inclusion of ''HimitsuSentaiGoranger'' and ''JAKQDengekitai'' two years earlier. It was also the first Sentai show to start the yearly crossover specials between the current team and previous one with ''Olé vs. [[NinjaSentaiKakuranger Kakuranger]]''.

Adapted into ''Series/PowerRangersZeo'', continuing where ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' left off.

!!!The Ohrangers consist of:

* Gorō Hoshino/'''Oh Red''': The [[TheLeader Captain of UAOH]] who is [[IKnowKarate an expert in karate]].
* Shōhei Yokkaichi/'''Oh Green''': The [[TeamDad oldest]] and [[TheBigGuy strongest]] fighter on the team who doubled as the [[TheLancer second in command]]. He is a skilled boxer.
* Yūji Mita/'''Oh Blue''': A [[KidAppealCharacter bumbling fool]] skilled in gymnastics and agile air attacks.
* Juri Nijō/'''Oh Yellow''': [[TheChick Aloof]] ActionGirl [[TomboyWithAGirlyStreak with a weakness of liking cute things and getting into traps because of that]]. She uses American-based martial arts.
* Momo Maruo/'''Oh Pink''': A Chinese boxer and aikido expert who is [[TheSmartGuy very intelligent and skilled at outsmarting the villains]].
* Riki/'''King Ranger''': SixthRanger; Bacchushund's old enemy from Pangaea who [[OlderThanTheyLook looks like a kid]], but is [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld actually six million years old]].

!!Allies:
* Chief Miura: TheMentor and creator of the Ohranger technology.

!!!The Machine Empire Baranoia is comprised of:

* Emperor Bacchushund: The BigBad
* Empress Hysteria: The queen of the empire.
* Prince Buldont: Bacchus's [[TheDragon loyal]] [[KidAppealCharacter son]]. He is later upgraded into an older form, Kaiser Buldont.[[hottip:*:In ''Series/PowerRangersZeo'', the latter form was incorporated to an entirely different character, Prince Gasket, the older son of the king.]]
* Acha and Kocha: [[ThoseTwoBadGuys The guys who]] [[MakeMyMonsterGrow bring the Baranoia's monsters up to size.]]
* Bomber the Great: [[SixthRanger The Sixth Ranger]] and {{The Starscream}}.
* Princess Multiwa: [[DarkChick The Dark Chick]]

!!'''Recurring''' SuperSentai tropes:

* AllYourPowersCombined: The Big Bang Buster, where the weapons are held together with one of the Ohranger's King Smashers.
* ByThePowerOfGreyskull: "''Chouriki Henshin!''" [[hottip:* :"[=SuperPower=] Transformation!"]]
* CallingYourAttacks
* CoolBike: The Jetter bikes. This was the last time each member of the main team had bikes of their own. After this point, only certain rangers (usually reds or extras) rode bikes if there were any.
* {{Crossover}}: Started the tradition of the yearly crossover movie with ''Olé vs. Kakuranger''.
* FinishingMove: Chōriki Dynamite Attack!
* FiveManBand:
** TheLeader: Gorō
** [[TheBigGuy The Big]] [[TheLancer Lancer]]: Shōhei
** KidAppealCharacter: Yūji
** TheChick: Juri
** [[TheSmartGuy The Smart Girl]]: Momo
** SixthRanger: Riki
* HomeBase
* HumongousMecha: ''Ohranger'' is known for having the most variety when it comes to individual mecha and possible mecha formations in ''Super Sentai'', even when compared to succeeding shows.
** AMechByAnyOtherName: The Chōriki Mobiles (the components of the Ohranger Robo) and the Blocker Robos (the components of the Oh Blocker).
** AnimalMecha: Only three this time. The Chōriki Mobiles for the male Ohrangers are based on mythological beasts, while the ones for the female members are tanks based on ancient humanoid statues.
** CombiningMecha: Two again. Their first one, the Ohranger Robo, also had [[WeaponizedHeadgear five interchangeable helmets]], one for each member, with the default one being Oh Red's Wing Head (the other four being Green's Horn Head, Blue's Graviton Head, Yellow's Vulcan Head and Pink's Cannon Head.
*** Chariot Formation (not exactly a mecha combination in the traditional sense, since it involves Green's and Blue's Chōriki Mobiles hauling Yellow's and Pink's respectively by being chained to them)
**** Gran Taurus + Dogu Lander = Taulander
**** Dash Leon + Moa Roader = Leoroader
*** Sky Phoenix + Gran Taurus + Dash Leon + Dogu Lander + Moa Roader = Ohranger Robo
*** Red Blocker + Green Blocker + Blue Blocker + Yellow Blocker + Pink Blocker = Oh Blocker
** MechaExpansionPack: The Red Puncher served this function to the Ohranger Robo, while the King Pyramider could work with both of them, as well as the Blocker Robos.
*** Ohranger Robo + Red Puncher = Buster Ohranger Robo
*** King Pyramider, the mecha of the King Ranger, has three formations: its default Pyramid Formation, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin where its shaped like a mobile pyramid]]; the Carrier Formation, where it becomes a flying warship that carries the Chōriki Mobiles and Red Puncher on top of it; and the Battle Formation, where it becomes a giant robot after combining with the Chōriki Mobiles and Red Puncher or with the Blocker Robos.
** RobotBuddy: Tackle Boy, which transforms into a rolling wheel tossed by Oh Blocker.
** MechanicalLifeform: Gunmazin
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming
* InTheNameOfTheMoon: [=Ohranger=], Olé!
* LawOfChromaticSuperiority: Even though it's tradition for the first battles in Sentai series to have the whole team, Oh Red actually gets to fight a battle and look awesome on his own at the end of episode one, as his astonished teammates watch. It's in the next episode that they assemble and fight as a team.
** Also, Gorō's the only one who managed to tame the Red Puncher robot. Furthermore, he's a Captain, while the other four are all First Lieutenants.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Acha and Kocha's reason for living.
* MonsterOfTheWeek: The "Machine Monsters"
* {{Mooks}}: The Barlo Soldiers, who are MechaMooks
* TheMovie: One where the [=Ohranger=]s had to escape a [[ShowWithinAShow movie within a movie!]] One of the Machine Monsters in the movie reappears as the MOTW in Episode 31.

* ThemeMusicPowerUp
* TransformationTrinket: Power Braces for the main five and King Brace for Riki.
* TwoGirlsToATeam: Makes a return after a three-year absent with the fifth Yellow and Pink duo.

** SwordAndGun: The Battle Sticks and King Blasters.
*** BifurcatedWeapon: Combining the two makes the [[{{BFG}} King Smasher]].
** {{BFG}}: The Ole Bazooka.
** Gorō: [[CoolSword Star Riser]]
** Shōhei: [[AnAxeToGrind Square Crushers]]
** Yūji: [[BladeBelowTheShoulder Delta]] [[DualTonfas Tonfas]]
** Juri: [[FightingWithChucks Twin Baton]]
** Momo: [[LuckilyMyShieldWillProtectMe Circle Defenser]]
** Riki: [[SimpleStaff King Stick]] [[hottip:*:It could be counted as a BladeOnAStick as Kingranger was classified as a swordsman in HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger vs. Super Sentai]]

!!Tropes specific to {{Chouriki Sentai Ohranger}}:
* ActorAllusion: ''Ohranger vs. Kakuranger'' has a scene taking place in a Wild West-themed locale. The male rangers are cornered by cowboys with guns. And then Chief Miura shows up [[KaiketsuZubat wearing a black leather cowboy hat, playing a certain tune on a guitar...]]
* AllMenArePerverts: Subverted. Chief Miura is unaffected by Multiwa's Charm spells because he's trained his body and heart to resist being moved against his will. The Ohranger males however are constantly taken down by it, despite knowing who she is.
* ATwinkleInTheSky: Happens to Juri in episode 12.
* BackToBackBadasses: Buster [=OhrangerRobo=]'s Gattai sequence starts with [=OhrangerRobo=] and [=RedPuncher=] standing back to back.
* {{BFS}}: [=OhBlocker=]'s Twin Blocken Crash finisher. It combines the two sabers together above its head, allowing them to project a gigantic LaserBlade that comes crashing down on the monster. Was only used twice, afterwards being replaced by [=OhBlocker=] rolling Tackleboy at the monster.
* BenevolentGenie: [[AkiraKamiya Gunmajin]]... Hm. In what way, you ask?
** "Punish those bullies" = Puts them on a ''very'' high branch and blows wind at them.
** "Take over/destroy the world for me!!" = "don'wanna. Not fun." * reverts to ittybitty form* (Incidentally, it's [[NobuyukiHiyama Bomber The Great]] giving this order. Think about it.
* CatchPhrase: "Ohre!" for... ''the whole team''.
* ContinuitySnarl: The ''Ohranger vs. Kakuranger'' crossover movie features the Oh Blocker, Tackle Boy and Gunmazin. [[spoiler:This is despite the fact the movie is set when Emperor Bacchushund is still alive, whereas Oh Blocker's first battle was precisely the battle where Bacchushund died and the other two appeared afterward.]]
* DarkerAndEdgier: This is WhatCouldHaveBeen (see TooSoon below).
** Although, the first few episodes did manage to be surprisingly gritty and intense, especially with episode 1 to 4 or so, giving a little insight of what the show could have been.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: One Baranoia monster's scheme was to amplify the sound of babies crying to destructive levels. He wanted to discourage humans from ever having babies; pity he never imagined they'd try desperately to calm them down.
* FakeDefector: Juri fakes cowardice in order to get the antidote for a monster's poison. [[spoiler: It doesn't go that well.]]
* {{Fanservice}}: One scene by the river during the Kakuranger team up, where we can see some talent from the Ohranger girls.
** There's also episode 23, in which Juri has to battle her brainwashed team-mates in first her swimsuit and then in just her underwear.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater: Riki.
* HeyItsThatGuy: Chief Miura is played by Hiroshi Miyauchi, AKA KamenRiderV3, AKA KaiketsuZubat AKA [[HimitsuSentaiGoranger AoRanger]] and [[JAKQDengekitai Big One]]!
** Ryosuke Kaizu (Takeru/Red Mask in ''HikariSentaiMaskman'') plays a U.A. commander in the very first episode.
** Shiro Izumi ([[DengekiSentaiChangeman Yuma Ozora]] and [[KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Burai]]) guest stars as Ken-ichi's (the kid of the week) deceased father in Episode 3.
** Kei Shindachiya (Ken Hoshikawa/Five Blue in ''ChikyuuSentaiFiveman'') plays the deceased test pilot of the Red Puncher in Episode 19.
** Akiko Amamatsu ([[ChoujuuSentaiLiveman Dr. Mazenda]] and [[GoseiSentaiDairanger Gara]]) plays the Machine Monster Tamer Ceris during Riki's introduction arc.
** Mikiko Miki ([[ChoujinSentaiJetman Chief Aya]] and [[GoseiSentaiDairanger Ko's mother]]) plays Juri's older sister in Episode 29.
* HeyItsThatVoice: Would you believe that's [[TomokazuSeki Domon Kasshu, amongst others]], as Prince Buldont? Also NobuyukiHiyama as Bomber the Great and AkiraKamiya as Gunmazin.
** Also ToruOhira as Bacchushund.
* KissingCousins: Kaiser Buldont and Princess Multiwa get married in episode 41 and have a child six episodes later. There's no {{Squick}} because they're robots.
* LostTechnology: The [=Ohranger=]s get their powers from technology created on Pangaea.
* MidSeasonUpgrade: Actually has two. Red Puncher Midseason, and it has a 3/4 season upgrade with Ohblocker later on.
* OlderThanTheyLook: Riki might be a kid, but he's a Six-Million Year Old Kid!
** He was in stasis though, so he's really not that old. He is however very mature for his age.
* {{Precursors}}: Pangaea, again.
* PunBasedTitle: "Ohranger" can mean several things depending on the context. It can refer to the [=O.H.=] (Overtech Hardware) technology used by the heroes, the Japanese word for "King", the Spanish word "Olé" (which is the catchphrase of the Ohrangers), or even as a homophone for the word "Aura" (oura).
* PunnyName: Bara Ivy. The Japanese word for "rose" is ''bara''.
** One guest character is named "Henna-jiisan", which literally means Old Man Henna. However, "henna" is also an adjective for someone who is weird, so his name ends up sounding like "weird old man".
* ReunionShow: Jump started the annual team ups between current and previous Super Sentai teams.
* {{Synchronization}}: The Baranoia monster Bara Brain was linked to a counterpart, the giant Bara Seperate, and was destroyed when Bara Separate fell to the first use of the Ohranger Robo.
* TagalongKid: Averted with Riki in spite of his age.
* ThemeNaming: The Ohrangers, sans Riki, have surnames relating to their geometric symbols.
** Maruo = Round tail
** Nijo = Two Lines [[hottip:*:Like the mathematical sign of equality, which Juri's symbol resembles.]]
** Mita = Three Fields [[hottip:*:Yūji's symbol is a triangle]]
** Yokkaichi = Fourth Day City [[hottip:*:Shohei's symbol is a rectangle]]
** Hoshino = Star Field
** Riki's symbol is the Kanji "''Oh''"/"King", matching his codename. It has six "terminals" in its shape as he's literally the SixthRanger of the group.
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Juri and Momo. They switch based on the situation. Generally Juri is more physically competent and outspoken and confident, while Momo has a softer feminine personality and is the DistressedDamsel a few times.
* TooSoon: Before the series debuted, the Great Kanto Earthquake occurred. During the series' first month on the air, the infamous Sarin subway attack perpetrated by the AUM cult occurred. As a result of these and other dark events, the show's dark storyline had to be toned down considerably.
* TorpedoTits: Keris shoots lasers from her nipples in giant monster form
* TrojanHorse: The Ohrangers use a Trojan Horse gambit (Chief Miura directly brings up the myth, even) to get themselves and the Blocker Robos inside the Baranoia moon base in "The Five Robos' Great Riot".
* TwentyMinutesIntoTheFuture: This is set in the then-future year 1999. Or at least, it was intended [[RetCon before the teamups]].
* WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic: The Ohranger Robo bears a striking resemblance the Ezekiel's descriptions of [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Cherubim]] in Literature/TheBible.
** While the animal mechs resemble the Cherubim, the other two are more similar to the Thrones. The Thrones are said to resemble chariot wheels, while the pink and yellow vehicles are pulled by the animals like chariots. They form the robots legs to symbolize the Thrones supporting the throne of God.
* WhipItGood: Keris' weapon in human guise is a whip.
