** Rau Le Crueset is one of the darkest takes on the trope, being a Char clone who acts as TheRival to AcePilot Mu La Flaga, and is the BigBad and TheManBehindTheMan to the entire series, simultaneously channeling CCA-era Char's plan up to OmnicidalManiac levels.

* VideoGame/BlazBlue: Relius Clover fights with a red robot , wears a mask that resembles ThePhantomOfTheOpera, is blond, is TheRival to , is co-Dragon to the Imperator Librarius (alongside ). Yep. Relius is definitely a Char.

** Echoes: Shadows of Valentia has Conrad, a masked individual with mysterious motives who repeatedly saves Celica from danger, and is later revealed to be

* Mecha Ace, a digital ChooseYourOwnAdventure story, features a rival AcePilot named Commandant Camille Hawkins, complete with blond hair, CoolMask, AceCustom mech, and RedBaron status. Biggest difference is a blue colour scheme instead of red... and potentially a GenderFlip (the player can optionally select NPC genders).

** To a lesser extent in VideoGame/MegadimensionNeptuniaVII, a character that appears in the Lowee storyline known as Azna=Leb (he even goes so far as to say a certain line "Y-you hit me! Even my own father never hit me! H-How dare you punch my face... with a fist even!" when Blanc strikes him in anger at the end of the storyline too!)

* Anime/MobileSuitGundam0080WarInThePocket doesn't explicitly have a Char clone in Bernie Wiseman, whose only explicit shared attributes are his blonde hair and acting as a Mentor figure towards the protagonist - while he is a Zeon pilot, he's actually a really bad one (he's shot down both times we see him in action, and only makes one kill [[spoiler:which comes at the cost of sacrificing himself to make it]]), and his antagonism towards a Gundam stays as a Literature/MobyDick-style hunt for the suit itself rather than evolving into any sort of rivalry with its pilot - he even gets some ShipTease with said pilot because neither of them know they're on opposite sides. The series does, however, nod towards the concept by having Bernie disguise himself with nothing more than a pair of CoolShades for the better part of the second half.
* Anime/MobileSuitGundam0083StardustMemory has a subversion in Anavel Gato. While he has the looks down, and his plan to recreate Operation British is similar to CCA Char's end goal, he has none of Char's personality traits, and no ulterior motives - he's as die-hard a Zeon fanatic as they come. He also doesn't wear a mask, making 0083 one of the few Gundam series to not feature any masked characters. Kelly Layzner is a more typical Char, with the blonde hair, acting as a temporary mentor for the protagonist, and then going into battle with an all-red mobile armor.

* VisualNovel/AceAttorney: While he's not in a mecha-series (and thus not a mech-pilot), Godot does meet some of the criteria of a Char Clone. To wit, he's a masked stranger who's introduced as an enigma with quite the reputation, he has an intense rivalry with the main character (if mostly from his side), he's revealed to have been connected to another major cast member (), and while introduced as antagonistic he reveals more sympathetic qualities over the course of the story. Earlier concept art actually shows that his mask looked a lot like Char Aznable's before the makers settled on the design seen in the final version.

* A rare literary example occurs in the SpaceOpera Literature/LucifersStar where the protagonist, Cassius Mass, is a blond-haired blue-eyed RedBaron AcePilot (later BrokenAce) in a FeudalFuture. He even has Char's affinity for red outfits both before and after the fall of his homeworld. WordOfGod says he envisioned the character as "Somewhere between Char, Clone Wars Anakin, and Han Solo."
