It appears to be an unwritten law of comic book movies that a sequel must contain at least two canon villains. * The Three Fiends, aka the Directors, from ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'' form a triumvirate. The three seem to be equal in every respect, which makes sense, since their goal is to bring an end to the fighting between their three races. They also might turn out to be the Big Bads, though they haven't got much screen time yet.
** Xykon and Redcloak originally were a duumvirate (or triumvirate if you count Right-Eye), but this eventually changed when it became clear as Xykon became more powerful and more completely depraved. Redcloak was eventually demoted to TheDragon (and possible [[TheStarscream Starscream]]). [[spoiler:[[ManipulativeBastard Or at least, that's what Redcloak is happy to let Xykon and the rest of the world believe]].]]

* In the second season of ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooMysteryIncorporated'', Professor Pericles and Mr. E serve as this in a downplayed example. While the two appear to be equal in power, Pericles is actually the dominant force of evil. Mr. E ends up pulling a HeelFaceTurn as he realizes the evils he and his compatriots are sinking to, while Pericles stops treating Mr. E with any resemblance of respect and properly asserts his authority as the season draws to its' close.
