* It's usually the raison d'etre of most female wrestlers to avoid this trope, especially since, during the late 90s and TurnOfTheMillennium, a large portion of women hired by Wrestling/WWE were models with no wrestling background. Wrestling/TrishStratus turned down offers to pose for Playboy, knowing that would be the only thing she'd be remembered for. likewise turned down the magazine as a combination of this and GirlsNeedRoleModels (she was known as an icon for young girls of the time). likewise decided against getting breast implants for this reason.

* Wrestling/KellyKelly could almost be a TropeCodifier. She initially debuted as an exhibitionist and performed stripteases for the fans (or at least as much as cable televsion could get away with. (Like Ashley Massaro, she didn't even get the proper training before her WWE debut, which Keibler, Wilson and even Sullivan did, albeit briefly.) She later started taking wrestling more seriously and got a push despite being average in the ring (at best) and unable to properly run the ropes. Smarks have torn her apart over it.

* Despite Wrestling/CandiceMichelle being the only female to be named "Most Improved Wrestler of the Year" by Pro Wrestling Illustrated, most fans tend to overlook her in-ring work and focus solely on her more fanservice-y moments. The fact that she's was a softcore porn actress, Playboy model and the former Go Daddy girl doesn't help.
* While Wrestling/MickieJames is known for far more than fanservice and her feud with Trish Stratus was enjoyed and respected by fans, it was filled to the brim with LesYay moments. Expect fans to always mention either the crotch lickAfter countering Trish's finishing move by grabbing her crotch, she formed a V with her hand and licked her fingers in a risque fashion. This has been edited out of both the DVD and the Network from WrestleMania 22 or the famous kiss under the mistletoe.

Crosses over into TruthInTelevision, due to the fact that there are many, many films, TV series and literary works that are known primarily for sex scenes or other suggestiveness and not for their plot, acting, etc. And this often extends to the actors and writers, not all of whom are pleased to be associated forever with a particular scene (see NeverLiveItDown).

* Armageddon 1999 is remembered for two things: the first is Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon turning heel to become a power couple with Triple H. The second is Miss Kitty dropping her top after winning the Women's Championship - the first time there had ever been full frontal nudity on the company's national TV.

Every trope is examined, played with, and ultimately justified. The HolyShitQuotient is high, the sound track is orgasmic, and the world building is matched only by the sheer amount of characterization. On the other hand, balloon tits.

* Mention Manga/MahouSenseiNegima and most people will inevitably think of Fanservice or ClothingDamage. Yes, the manga has a lot of fanservice, but it also has a ton of CharacterDevelopment, an epic plot, and a ton of awesome fights. Still doesn't keep the fanservice from overshadowing just about everything else in the popular perception of the series.
** As with the previous example, it doesn't help that the early volumes were more fanservice-heavy than later ones. To make matters worse, a lot of people's only exposure is the first anime, which is severely lacking in a lot of the more combat oriented storylines. Ironically, the second anime lacks any fanservice what-so-ever.

* When the female lead of LightNovel/SpiceAndWolf first appears, she is stark naked. She's not human, but that can lead people to the wrong conclusions easily enough, and seeing her illustrations (or images from the anime or manga adaptations) without context can lead one to assume that she goes around naked frequently, when in fact she prefers to wear clothes in her human form because she gets cold without her fur. * Film/BlueIsTheWarmestColor will be remembered primarily for its extensive explicit lesbian sex scenes more than for its storyline, much to the chagrin of fans of the original graphic novel. Nope, its just one scene of Creator/JenniferConnelly doing "ass to ass" with another woman. An uber-example of this trope as that scene has been endlessly recycled on porn sites with all context stripped away, turning the horror of the original into straight titillation.

* Ever since Series/GameOfThrones became known as "that show that's like TheLordOfTheRings but with Porn and Politics" (which it isn't), Literature/ASongOfIceAndFire has become known as an "Adult" "Grim Dark" or "X-rated" fantasy series. It does contain sex scenes, but most of them are PG-13 at worst, and many of them are implied rather than shown. However, judging how some people talk about them, you'd think it's all skin, all humping, all the time.
