The Messiah has been disambiguated between Messianic Archetype and All Loving Hero. Bad examples and ZCE are being removed; if you disagree, please readd with sufficient context.
The first book, "Sword in the Stars" follows the story of Alastair Coldhollow, an ex-assassin who once worked for the BigBad, but seeks to atone for his past by finding the [[TheMessiah Halfainin]] and saving his world from the grip of evil, while the noble King Aravel must contend with his wicked brother Morlan and the savage Gorracks.

* TheChosenOne: A double example. For the fabled [[TheMessiah Halfainin]] to rise there must first come the Caller. Alastair comes to the conclusion that he is the Caller, and desperately searches for the Halfainin, providing most of the plot for the first book.

Big Badass Wolf is no longer a trope. It has been replaced with an index for Wolf Tropes.
* AlwaysChaoticEvil: Implied with the Gorracks, but it seems that they can also be NeutralEvil, depending on their leader. The monsters of the Gray Hour are definitely this, though. * APupilOfMineUntilHeTurnedToEvil: [[spoiler:Cythraul was once Xanalos, the friend and best student of King Ealden. He was executed by the Wayfolk, but being Pureline, he came back and began his life as Cythraul. * TheSociopath: Cythraul and Quevara are both completely without mercy and empathy. Morlan barely averts this, as the one person he (somewhat) cares for is Maren.
