* Mike from ''WesternAnimation/Sing''. Throughout the film, he's arrogant, self-centered, dishonest, and just an all around asshole. The very first thing be does in the film is criticize someone for not giving him a lot of change for his street sax performance, before practically robbing him of all his cash.

* In ''Disney/MulanII'', Mushu turned into this, mostly because Mulan's ancestors were jerkasses towards him.

* Detective James Carter (played by Chris Tucker) is a huge JerkAss at the start of ''RushHour'' and he knows it. Of course, since he's the hero he's also the JerkWithAHeartOfGold and has BadAss tendencies.

* ''Film/{{Unfriended}}'': Nearly everybody who appears in the film is a flat-out horrible person, even the ones who initially come off as comparatively sympathetic. Laura, who commits suicide due to being bullied, is said to have been a bullying AlphaBitch herself, and Ken, who is rather blameless in the actual situation that led to Laura's death, turns out to be just as horrible as the rest of his friends when he says blankly that Laura deserved what happened to her. [[spoiler:And let's not get started on [[VillainProtagonist Blaire]], who cheated on Mitch twice and may have posted the video in the first place, causing her best friend's death]]. More than one critic found the film's depiction of the sheer amorality of American millennial teens more terrifying than the premise of the film itself.

* Biff Tannen, as well as [[InTheBlood his whole family line]] from the ''Franchise/BackToTheFuture'' trilogy.
* Buzz [=McCallister=], along with Harry and Uncle Frank from the first two ''Film/HomeAlone'' movies. Also, the hotel Concierge in the second film.
* Practically every character D-FENS runs into in ''Film/FallingDown'': the convenience store owner, the two knife-wielding street thugs, the Nazi, the employees at the fast food restaurant, the snooty golfers, the homeless guy, the road crew worker, et al. - all, of course, to "justify" D-FENS's DisproportionateRetribution toward them as he slowly turns into a SociopathicHero. (Actually, D-FENS himself is one by the movie's climax, at least until his HeelRealization.)

* The bullies in ''WesternAnimation/RaceForYourLifeCharlieBrown'', with Lucy and Peppermint Patty to a lesser extent than usual.

* In the same mold, Steve from the 2004 version of ''Film/DawnOfTheDead2004'' is an unbelievably obnoxious jerk who never misses an opportunity to be snide and petty, no matter how serious the situation. Thankfully, the filmmakers were aware that the audience would hate him, and he ''does'' end up with a bullet in his head by the movie's end. Ahh...
** Not to mention he [[spoiler:causes the break in of the mall in the first place, by leaving his post and not opening the security door when the protagonists are trying to get back in after a rescue of Sarah. He does it out of spite, and even greets them with a grin and a "Hey, guys, where were you?!"]]

* Liberty Valance in Creator/JohnFord's western Film/TheManWhoShotLibertyValance.

* Sheridan Whiteside of ''Theatre/TheManWhoCameToDinner'' goes back and forth between a {{Jerkass}} and VillainWithGoodPublicity.

* Apollo Creed in ''Film/{{Rocky}}'' was a famous JerkAss. [[spoiler: And in his case, RedemptionEqualsDeath.]]
** More like [[spoiler:cockiness equals death]]. He and Rocky had been fast friends for a while by the time that happened.
* Pick a horror movie centred around a group of four to seven friends. One of them is usually the {{Jerkass}}. Sometimes they get RedemptionEqualsDeath, sometimes not, but they die.
** A particularly egregious example is Trent from the ''Film/FridayThe13th2009'' remake, who pretty much starts his JerkAss resume by being a complete dick to Clay, whose sister was missing and he was searching for her. The rest of his time is spent bitching about his drunken friends ruining his cabin, even bitching about a chair broken when one friend fell over it after burned his lips while doing a flaming shot. Add on his 80s hair, and his death couldn't come soon enough.

* Kraven from the ''Film/{{Underworld}}'' movies definitely fits this one.
* ''Film/HaroldAndKumarGoToWhiteCastle'':
** The extreme sports punks who constantly torment the main characters fit this trope.
*** Although they are later revealed to be giant wussies due to [[spoiler: their musical tastes.]]
** The cops.
** Also, Harold's co-workers, Billy and J.D.

* Randal from ''Film/{{Clerks}}''.
** Banky from ''Film/ChasingAmy'', Brodie from ''Film/{{Mallrats}}'', and, of course, Jay of [[ThoseTwoGuys Jay And Silent Bob.]] Creator/KevinSmith enjoys following the [[TheEighties 1980's tradition]] of [[SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan giving the relatively sensitive, girl-friendly male lead]] a StrawMisogynist [[TheLancer best friend / sidekick]].

** Ironically enough, their rivalry also winds up with the other lead's wife hanging herself and his [[spoiler: secret twin]]'s girlfriend leaving him.
* All characters in ''The Family Stone'' at at least one point. Sometimes it's [[RuleOfFunny funny]], sometimes it [[MoralEventHorizon goes really way too far]].
** The fact that they've gone too far is even noted in the trailer.You might think your son/little brother is marrying the wrong girl, but ''jeez'' were these people over the top at times.

* DEA Agent Duncan Malloy(Colm Meaney) in ''Film/ConAir''.

* Walter Peck from ''Film/{{Ghostbusters 1984}}'', whose actor Creator/WilliamAtherton has made a career of playing JerkAss[=es=].

* Myron Larabee, Ted Maltin and the motorcycle cop, Alexander Hummell from ''Film/JingleAllTheWay''.

* In ''WesternAnimation/SharkTale'', [[EvilAllAlong Mr.Sykes & his Idiot Henchmen (named Ernie & Bernie)]] are (total) jerks to Oscar.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Igor}}'', Dr. Glickenstein & [[BigBad King Malbert]] are real jerks to the title character.

* Farva from ''Film/{{SuperTroopers}}'', possibly the essence of JerkAss.
* Jason in ''Film/MysteryTeam'' is on the road to becoming this before Kelly sets him straight.

* ''Film/TheRoom'': Lisa, her mother, Johnny and Mark qualify.
** Johnny doesn't exactly qualify (He only becomes one towards the end of the movie as he crosses the DespairEventHorizon). Everyone spends the entire movie talking about how wonderful a person he is. The others (especially Lisa) all fit, though.

* Upson Pratt in ''Film/{{Creepshow}}'''s ''They're Creeping Up on You!''

* Jet Li in "Film/{{Fearless 2006}}" until he makes a TragicMistake, undergoes a RedemptionQuest and then becomes the savior of his country.
* Pony Sugrue in ''Disney/DarbyOGillAndTheLittlePeople''

* In the ''Film/DieHard'' films we have Police Chief Dwayne T. Robinson in the first film, Airport Police Captain Lorenzo in the second film, and tv reporter Dick Thornburg in both films.
* Practically just about every named character in the 1983 remake of ''Film/{{Scarface|1983}}'', specially: Elvira, Frank, Tony, Omar, Mel, Hector the Toad and Sosa. But definitely, everyone else, bar Mama and Angel, would be this kind of character. (Actually, Tony himself, who is an [[VillainProtagonist amoral criminal]], also counts as one when he is controlling towards his sister, until his HeelRealization when [[spoiler: he killed Manny in a fit of anger]])

* In ''Film/ObserveAndReport'', Ronnie Barnhardt, Detective Harrison, Brandi and Saddamn were all real assholes.
* The titular ''Film/JackieBrown'' of the movie and Max Cherry weren't complete saints for once. But Ordell Robbie, Beaumont Livingston, Melanie Ralston and Louis Gara were the worse of them all.

* Velma Von Tussle from 2007's ''Film/{{Hairspray}}''.
* Bufo from ''{{WesternAnimation/Epic}}''.
* Keith Clayton from ''The Lucky One''
* Just about everyone in ''Film/NowYouSeeMe'' : Daniel Atlas, Merrit [=McKinney=], Thaddeus Bradley, Arthur Tressler and Dylan Rhodes stand out.

* Victor Kershaw explicitly, and Daniel implicitly in ''Film/PainAndGain''.
* ''Film/WereTheMillers'': David starts out as one but finally evolves into a JerkWithAHeartOfGold at the end.
* ''Film/HomewardBoundTheIncredibleJourney'': Chance, but at the end he turns into a JerkWithAHeartOfGold. In the second movie he's a jerk again.

* Jerry and Trent in ''Film/YouthInRevolt''. Hell even Nick for that matter.

* ''AmericanPie'''s Steve Stifler. This was an important plot point in the 4th movie (''AmericanPie Presents: Band Camp'') when his younger brother Matt, who for most of the movie is trying to emulate Steve, changes his ways when he finds out that EVERYONE hated his brother. Because he was a {{Jerkass}}. As a result, Matt gets better and, in ''American Reunion'', Steve himself finally realizes the error of his ways and becomes a good friend to everyone.

* ''Disney/{{Mulan}}'':
** Chi Fu from is a chauvinist prick who condemns Mulan with the death penalty once her gender is found out, despite the fact she saved them all from the Hun army in the mountains. He tries this again after she and the others saved the Emperor and ''all of China'' from the Huns. Some gratitude...
** In ''Mulan II'', Mushu turned into this, mostly because Mulan's ancestors were jerkasses towards him.
