* Meister and Kawachi's master-disciple relationship late in the manga to [[ItMakesSenseInContext get Daruma Wheat by beating Azuma in a baking match set by Azuma's grandpa]] is pretty heartwarming in itself.

\n* During Episode 27, a young child comes by the South Tokyo Store to buy some Ja-pan #57 (as it's free for purchase). However, since the store ran out the other day, Azuma lets him try out a piece of Japan #2, bread made in a rice cooker. The boy is initially disappointed because of how complicated the science behind baking the bread sounds and thinks he can't make it himself at home. However, Azuma easily condenses it into an explanation the kid can understand, much to the child's joy. Inspired by Azuma, the boy immediately exclaims as he leaves that he'll work hard to be as great of a baker as Azuma is. Azuma is visibly touched and promises to work hard in return.

** It's also especially heartwarming when one considers that both of them were previously mind-controlled by Yuiichi Kirisaki in the previous arc of the manga, and that Kawachi trusts Meister enough to let him mentor him (as Meister had, during the previous arc while mind-controlled, manipulated Kawachi to eat the same mind-controlling bread). The overall master-disciple relationship just shows how much faith Meister has in Kawachi, and vice-versa (even if the training methods can seem fairly strange at times).

* Episode 12 reveals that Azuma and several other competitors chose the wrong butter to make butter rolls with (they chose ''margarine''), thus resulting in all of them failing without Kuroyanagi even tasting their bread. However, Suwabara quickly steps in to point out to Kuroyanagi that Azuma managed to make a butter roll that was actually ''really good'' and overcame the flaw of using margarine in the first place. This forces Kuroyanagi to retract failing Azuma and let him join the other finalists. Even if Suwabara wanted to eventually beat Azuma, he still has a lot of respect for his skills and acknowledges their work. Had he not stepped in, Azuma wouldn't have made it as far as he did in the tournament.

* Episode 11 has Katsuo and a few other disqualified Pantasia newcomers barging into the Pantasia Newcomers Tournament to protest their disqualifications (mainly due to receiving insults with no explanation about why they failed), with Katsuo begging on his knees for a second chance. Azuma, despite ''barely knowing Katsuo at all'' at the time, requests Kuroyanagi to give them a second shot (especially since the already-qualified newcomers would have to go through one more qualification round to shorten the amount of finalists anyway), and Matsushiro backs him up on this.

* Azuma standing up for Kawachi when he collapses during the Pantasia Newcomers' semi-finals due to a heat stroke caused by the lack of air conditioning, while Tsukino attends to Kawachi.
** Later on, Kawachi encouraging Azuma not to give up on the semi-finals match against Suwabara, when it's clear that Kawachi won't make it to the finals.
* Meister Kirisaki, Tsukino, Kawachi and the others apologizing to Azuma after his semi-finals match with Suwabara for accusing Azuma of murdering the judges after said judges came back to life. They realized it was all part of a reaction for the judges to temporarily go to heaven due to eating Azuma's bread (episode 22).

* During the Pantasia Newcomer's Tournament in the quarter-finals (vol. 4-5 in the manga, episodes 16-17 in the anime), Azuma faces off against Koala (who was earlier revealed to be Mokoyama, who previously worked at St. Pierre as the General Manager of the Main Store and even went up against Azuma during that time). Both of them end up having a ''tie,'' but Mokoyama refuses to accept it...by ''withdrawing from the competition and asking Kuroyanagi to let Azuma advance to the semi-finals instead.'' Though a bit of a TearJerker, it's also nice to see that Mokoyama has grown to respect Azuma for his skill as a bread craftsman.
** Mizuno initially fires Mokoyama for the above, given that he was working under her management at the time and that Mokoyama and Azuma's match was also partially-fueled by a bet Mizuno and Tsukino had going on in regards to who would inherit Pantasia. Not only does Mizuno finally acknowledge Tsukino as a "sister," but she also ''immediately'' goes looking for Mokoyama afterwards, telling him as soon as she finds to come back and that he isn't fired anymore.
** The fact that episode 17 expands on how Mizuno found Mokoyama: He was literally homeless for a while when she found him on the street, giving him employment and a place to live. Heck, Mokoyama even describes her as a ''daughter'' figure to him. Even if Mizuno is kind-of bratty and initially presented as mean-spirited towards Tsukino, it's clear she also does have a good heart.
*** Tsukino also forgives Mizuno for the mishaps that happened between them up until that point, also acknowledging her as a "sister."
