* The story "AFriendInNeed" is pretty adorable from beginning to end. After yet another heroic rescue, Superman is felled by a Kryptonite cloud which finally caught up after the explosion of the planet. The hero is so weak he can barely move. Even after being carried a distance with the help of a forklift and a mattress, he can't stand up on his own.
-->Superman: I should be able to walk now.
-->Jimmy: Are you sure?
-->Superman: Ahk!...N-no.
-->Jimmy: 'S okay. Lean on me.
* Leaning heavily on Jimmy's shoulder the entire way, Superman makes his way down into a lead-heavy cavern outside town, hoping to avoid the Kryptonite. His friend helps him lie down.
-->Superman: You have to go...get help.
-->Jimmy: Superman, I don't want to leave you like this.
-->Superman: Jim, listen to me...the Green Lanterns, the ComicBook/MartianManhunter...they might be able to help me. I'll be fine here for the moment. Please...go!
-->He was right. There was nothing more I could do for him.
-->Jimmy: All right, Superman, you're the boss. You hang tough. I won't be gone long. I'll get help. If I have to, I'll bring back the whole ComicBook/JusticeLeague!

* Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen #5 contains the story "The Boy Olympics". Finding out that the Planet's rival paper, the Sentinel is on the verge of closing, Jimmy organizes the titular event to keep the Sentinel newsboys from becoming unemployed, even when Superman reminds him that it will mean his own job if he's caught. Perry White gets his own CMOH when we discover that he was also trying to help the Sentinel and was the AnonymousBenefactor who provided money for the Olympics advertising.

-->Jimmy Olsen: Superman? It -- it's okay, pal.You've saved my life so many times...I wouldn't have had the years I had if not for you! But even a hero can lose, sometimes. It -- it's not your fault.

* A similar incident occurs at the end of the Conduit saga. Restrained in a deathtrap designed to be unbeatable, literally watching his life tick away on a timer overhead, Jimmy delivers a rousing plea to his super powered pal not to blame himself for failing to save him. Luckily, he had an epiphany which allowed Superman to save him -- just barely.
