* In Episode 4, despite having broken his friendship of sorts with Aria, Kinji turns suddenly interested when he sees her going somewhere while wearing nice street clothes. It is shown that, for all of Aria's derisive talk about love, [[GreenEyedMonster he fears she might be going to a date.]]
** Later Aria spots him following him, and he ends up joining her in a visit to her arrested mother. ** After Kinji boards the plane to save Aria from the inminent Butei Killer attack, she is angry at him for their previous fight and wants nothing of him. However, a thunderstorm cracks next to the plane, triggering her phobia and turning her into a teary mess in her bed. At that moment, after contemplating about her cute hands, Kinji comforts her by placing his own hand over hers, deciding to help her "if not as a Butei, at least as a comrade." Her surprised expression is just adorable, and they even smile for a moment before she turns her palm into a casual HoldingHands... before they are interrupted by gunshots, when they both look up blushing.
