* If seeing Monev kill people drove Vash into Berserk mode, then why didn't seeing that Brilliant Dynamite Neon had killed the one train operator do the same?
** Might be because Brilliant Dynamite Neon was acting like a terrorist with a cause. He had a reason to kill the train operator as messed up as it might be. Monev just killed a bunch of people for no goddamn reason which is something Vash literally can't comprehend.

*** Note that Knives was able to recover from an Angel-Arm blast to the face without his hair going black, but it took him at least twenty years and he had to be screwed into a Plant's casing. Conceivably, Vash could have done the same thing to regrow his arm and stuff, but doing that would be out of character for him.

** He shot Knives's Ark, and was probably aiming at Knives himself.

* Is it just me or is the anime ending complete and utter nonsense? Vash spends the entire show going to great lengths not to do a thing... and then does that thing. It'd make sense if it was expanded further about WHY he decided to kill Knives in the final fight but... it just happens and then it immediately ends. No "I've realized that I can't let him live and continue killing others" or anything, not even Vash having any kind of emotional ramifications from finally killing his brother. It confused the hell out of me cos Vash jumps up and goes "I know how to save Knives!" like he has a plan, and then he just shoots him stone cold dead and goes home smiling with the corpse over his shoulder.
Bear in mind that I haven't read the manga yet.. I hope it makes more sense there. Heck, I was so confused I wasn't sure if Knives was even dead or not despite him being riddled with bullets...
