*** The trident could've been somewhere in the world that Link wasn't able to visit in previous games, much like the Four Sword. Either that or it wasn't created until after the events of Twilight Princess.

*** (3rd troper here.) That just begs the question of where the Trident came from. The Dark Mirror we can HandWave as being made from shards of the Mirror Of Twilight, but the Trident? Where was that in ''Ocarina of Time'' or ''Twilight Princess''?

** Destroying the barriers at the end of each stage is probably what causes the sword’s power to be continually post — it is contending with the power of not one but two evil villains, after all. As for the Force Gems, those turn into Force Fairies at the end of each stage, which is how you increase your count of them.
