* In the episode "Small Problems", a Horde scientist tells Bow, who's disguised as a Horde Inspector, that he'd developed the enlarging formula before he developed the shrinking formula, but that Hordak didn't want to make the Rebels bigger. Why Hordak never thought of using the enlarging formula to make his own troops bigger, probably just illustrates how dumb Hordak actually is.
** There is also the fact that while an army of giants sound good the Horde would need a lot of space for them to live or the giants would need a lot of food. The Horde couldn't afford to have a permanet army of giants.
* In an attempt to kill Hordak, Skeletor laces a pie with a berry that will slowly cause its victim to fade from existence, but is curable. As with the above example, the fact Skeletor didn't use something like a fast-acting toxin such as cyanide instead shows that he wasn't too smart, either.

*** It made sense out of universe at the time. Decades ago, back when She-Ra first premiered, [[MarsAndVenusGenderContrast a prevailing pop feminist stereotype]] caricatured male thinking (boy and man) as [[RatedMForManly inherently entered around brute strength and power]], whereas that same stereotype claimed that [[WomenAreWiser female thinking centered always on issues of honor, integrity,]] [[MenUseViolenceWomenUseCommunication dignity, compassion, intellectual sophistication, etc.]] and [[MenAreUncultured transcended petty male interest in brute strength and power]]. Hence, She-Ra declares she operates for the *honor* of Grayskull instead of the *power* of Grayskull as a way to show [[MenAreChildish her innate superiority to men and their brute male obsession with the *power* of Grayskull]].

** Parental instinct plus there's likely some degree of family resemblance. If the Queen can recognize Adam when he's He-Man than seeing her daughter undisguised and knowing who she is isn't too far fetched.

*** My personal theory? Hordak was just used to using magic as a crutch for everything. Sure, he could raise her and instill her with his values, tell her sweet little lies she'll accept as truth because it comes from a benevolent authority, but that's just too much work. Better to do a mind warping spell to keep her from asking uncomfortable questions than to do any actual parenting, even crappy parenting. Had he pulled a [[WesternAnimation/{{Tangled}} Mother Gothel]] She-Ra would've at least angsted about rebelling against him.

* How did the queen and king immediately recognize Adora without Adam having to tell them who she was when they hadn’t seen her since she was a baby?

*** The entire pilot was likely produced all at once. The scenes in the third episodes just happened to be finished before the decision to change the design was made and nobody wanted to waste money changing completed animations.

*** That seems somewhat unlikely for an explanation since this was one part of the five part beginning, plus there's nothing in the series production information the doesn't say it was produced before the first two parts.
