*** Except that it's still never been confirmed or denied if they needed the Elements, only that they defeated him in general. And even if they didn't, they still seemed to need at least a CombinationAttack to beat him, implying that he was roughly strong enough to stalemate them both at once (not to mention how, even in defeat, he was still able to make an entire kingdom vanish, something that many people consider to be roughly RealityWarper-tier). Furthermore, given his DangerouslyGenreSavvy streak, who's to say that ItOnlyWorksOnce wouldn't have come into play if they had, in fact, directly intervened again? Additionally, Celestia flat-out confirmed that her knowledge of the Empire was limited, meaning that she and Luna most likely didn't know the full extent of what he was capable of, either.

** According to [[http://orig12.deviantart.net/16e7/f/2012/357/5/2/sombra_stained_glass_window_vector_by_phantombadger-d5m8i9j.png this]], he did, in fact, want to wield it as a weapon (which would explain why such a NoNonsenseNemesis didn't just throw it into lava or something), making it more of a double-edged sword. And as for hiding it being pointless in that case? Well, given his DangerouslyGenreSavvy history, better safe than sorry.

** It's good to have a a designated high-speed-landing area. That way, you know where not to be. Or if you must cross, be slow to start, but quick to get across once you do go.

*** As it turns out, [[spoiler:they don't even find out that Cadance is pregnant until Season 5]].

** That doesn't necessarily mean that Celestia doesn't know. Her sister watches over dreams; perhaps if you're not actually asleep, that's Celestia's jurisdiction.

** According to "The Crystalling" three seasons later, the Crystal Heart just kind of does this whenever it's kicked into high gear. Given that it also makes living creatures ''translucent,'' styling their hair as a side effect seems relatively minor. It's probably just some kind of "make living creatures look awesome" effect.

** Alternatively their regeneration ability is tied to the forest and they are losing it if they stay out of it for too long.

* I'm just gonna say what we're all thinking. Why on earth did Cadance not invite Spike to the Crystal Empire?! He helped save it! And for that matter, why didn't any of the other ponies just tell him, he could come along anyway, since he deserves to?
