** It's AccentuateTheNegative at it's finest. There's really no other way to explain it.

** It does have a page, but it's currently shit.

** For the record, I don't even think that /b/ is such a bad place. It's a great community, full of awesome stuff. You just have to have a... thick skin. All of the negative image of /b/ comes from the attempts made to judge it as a collective, rather than many different individuals with widely varying opinions. Of course, it's very different and more unfocused than all the other boards.

** Image boards in general are aimed at the lowest common denominator, populated by the most asinine of users. They cannot be defended because they are created purely for people with virtually nothing better to do than use them to broadcast their idiocy.

* Am I the only person that doesn't think 4chan is a bad place? It's irritating that everybody acts like 4chan = /b/, but the interest boards are genuinely good. And as for the "last boss of the internet" and "we are legion" stuff most of it is really just bored teenagers trying to be a part of something awesome. But they're bored teenagers that are relatively harmless. It's just a pet peeve I suppose but I can't be the only one who thinks this...

** Read the description again. We're trying to avoid unwanted attention from TheImageBoardThatMustNotBeNamed. Not directly referencing it in the title just makes life vastly easier for tropers involved.

** When an Anon of TheImageboardThatMustNotBeNamed swears, says something stupid, or hates something with a burning passion, I know that they are either joking or have a very justified reason for doing so. When someone on Facebook or Youtube does something like that I'm scared for humanity's future. It's a bit of a stretch, but I believe that the average intelligence of an Anon is higher than the average user of the more popular social networking sites. Besides, it's not the worst Imageboard out there. Just the most infamous.

* More than something making me scratch my head is just something that I've noticed about : I know not all of it's /b/, but despite being the most infamous one with all its trolls, sexism, racism and whatnot... It still has achieved more than Tumblr, whose community is more focused about being politically correct and yet they have done nothing remotely good in comparison. While boards like /pol/ and /b/ have attracted people that do think like this I take most of the nasty aspects of the image board as a jest (hell, even black people and women will jump into it as anons) As one of the entries in YMMV says, they just prefer total freedom with assholes than being in a strictly-modded hugfest: they all agree in that they hate everyone/everything and everyone is a Jerkass, yet despite all the shitstorms and drama in some boards there's some kind of acknowledgement, both for between boards and between anons... save for /b/ and /v/.
** That being said, this being TheImageBoardThatMustnotBeNamed they pretty much hate every other social sites, but the most recent end of their full-blown hateful punch seems to be Tumblr, though not without reason.
*** Yes, a few Radfems completely justifies raiding Tumblr, flooding tags like 'Feminism', 'LGBT', 'kittens', etc. with pictures of gore and pornography, to trigger people intentionally, and driving one mentally ill user to SUICIDE.
** So basically you condone assholishness and bullying just to stick it to altruistic people? There's being edgy, and there's downright sociopathy...
** Tumblr's done nothing good in comparison? It's a safe place (or at least tries to be) for trans people, queer people and women who get loads of shit in the real world, the users are more likely to be activists, and it's taught me personally loads about dealing with problematic issues in media. Totally deserves to be hated.
