*He probably just didn't have it in him. He'd already barely managed to work up the courage to shoot at Sylar once that day. And normally he's just a normal scientist whose father considered him too soft-hearted even for that. Naturally it'd take some effort for him to get over his conscience and just straight-up murder an unconscious guy. Even considering his semi-ruthless actions toward Sylar earlier, murder is a hard bridge to cross.
