** Captain Hammer is an idiot, and has such bad handwriting he has to write '''REALLY BIG''' for it to be legible. He's a LrageHam even in print.

** Of course a hammer can be threatened by a nail! Haven't you ever played Neil the Nail?

Added DiffLines:

** Two things. A) Captain Hammer has a lot more than a passing familiarity with Dr Horrible. Penny may have seen his pictures, but she didn't notice him at all during their actual encounter, so she wouldn't be able place his face. And B) Penny is an optimist, so she wouldn't think "the cute guy from the laundromat is Dr. Horrible" unless presented with more evidence than the fact that they look similar to each other.

Added DiffLines:

** The way I see it mirrors some higher ones, except remember that they don't know Penny's death was an accident, they don't know that Dr. Horrible loved her, and they DO know that she was Captain Hammer's girl friend. So as far as they know, he killed Captain Hammer's girl friend, which is a super villain classic. The fact that he defeated Captain Hammer (even if he didn't die) probably doesn't hurt either.

** The simple answer is that he doesn't have a heal ray. It could be that there's no such ability in this world, or that he's never built one, or that he has one sitting at home and didn't think to bring it. Rule of Narrative Causality. Penny needed to die because that was the point of the story. Also worth noting, that this is a super hero world and super heroes rarely get healing rays.

* I assumed that she hasn't fully pieced everything together, so from her point of view A) She believes Billy and Dr Horrible are two different people, B) Dr. Horrible is a threat to everybody, including herself and her friend Billy, C) Captain Hammer is a bit of a jerk but is still a hero, and D) Captain Hammer isn't defeated (she didn't see him run away). So from her point of view, she's telling Billy what she believes is true: Captain Hammer will save them from Dr. Horrible.

*** Then why didn't someone else say it? Like, say, NathanFillion? It'd still be funny, and we wouldn't be thoroughly confused here.

** Well, now that you mention it. His attempt to blast Dr. Horrible, who was no longer a threat, with a death ray would count as open murder.
