* Creator/GeorgeLucas. Yes people love to bash him nowadays. But you know what? He started out with ''Film/THX1138'' and ''AmericanGraffiti''. But most importantly he made ''StarWars''. While some might disagree what he has done to it, he still made it. He was a man with a vision that he fought to get made, which it not only did, but it became a phenomenon. Not only that, but he has made some major contributions to [[Creator/IndustrialLightAndMagic special effects]] and [[{{Lucasarts}} video games]]. A true visionary and a milestone in filmmaking. He's the reason [[Tropers/{{Gabel}} I]] got into it in the first place.

* Creator/HannaBarbera. They made some of the best cartoons I have ever seen, second only to the DisneyAnimatedCanon (most of it anyways). People give them flack because of their limited animation techniques. Some say that Creator/HannaBarbera was directly responsible for the AnimationAgeGhetto. But you know what? Maybe their animation isn't much, but THE STORIES. When they weren't writing hilarious slapstick cartoon like WackyRaces, ThePerilsOfPenelopePitstop, and their various ThreeShorts shows, or exciting mystery shows like JabberJaw, TheChanClan, and ScoobyDoo, they wrote action adventure cartoons like ThundarrTheBarbarian, SWATKats, and my personal favorite, ValleyOfTheDinosaurs, that not only had real conflict, but also real emotion and depth. Creator/HannaBarbera saved the animation industry, carrying it through a time when people just weren't in the mood for animation, or passed it off as "kids' stuff". Without them, who knows where the industry would be right now?

* Creator/TimBurton. Someone who didn't lose his imagination when he grew up. Plus, he's shown that you don't have to be ridiculously handsome to find true love with an [[HelenaBonhamCarter insanely beautiful woman]].

* FeliciaDay is my own personal hero. She created, writes and acts in one of the web's [[TheGuild tentpole series]] which she built from the ground up, is the patron saint of geek girls, refuses to compromise her principles to make an easy buck, ''and even Creator/JossWhedon was inspired by her.'' Oh, and [[NerdsAreSexy she's beautiful in a very unconventional way]].

* ''Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. It's five year mission; to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before.'' - These words and [[Franchise/StarTrek the franchise that it heralded]] have entertained, enthralled, and inspired the world for nearly fifty years. All thanks to Mr. GeneRoddenberry, the Great Bird of the Galaxy. Live long and prosper, sir.

* Skip Hinnant of ''WesternAnimation/FritzTheCat'' and ''Series/TheElectricCompany1971'' fame. Yes, he is well known for both a ground-breaking children's show and the first X-rated theatrical cartoon. And even though that's more or less all he's known for, that does not diminish his awesomeness. The few things he did, he did well. He helped bring Fritz The Cat to life, and on ''The Electric Company'', he played Fargo North, Decoder with the gusto that character needed. He also played Pogo in ''ComicStrip/{{Pogo}} For President'', which is really cool. On top of that, he's a very sweet and amicable man. And hey, name one other heterosexual man who '''prefers''' to be called "Skip". [[spoiler:His real first name is Joseph.]] He actually attended the school where ''DeadPoetsSociety'' was filmed.
