[[caption-width-right:185:[[MemeticMutation "You miserable engine! Just look what you've done to our breakfast!]] [[SkewedPriorities Now I shall have to cook some more!"]]]]

The engines are not just Really Useful, but they're also Really Funny.
----
[[foldercontrol]]

[[folder:General]]
* Whenever Sir Robert Norramby is on scene.
** Especially his first scene. To give you a summary: Everybody throws Sir Robert a party at Knapford Station. When he arrives on Spencer, everybody cheers and the Brass Band plays. Robert, gets out of the coach, just waves at the people, says "[[EstablishingCharacterMoment Oh, who's the party for? Anyway, I must go]]" and gets in the coach again. The band plays while they leave the station and everybody is shocked.
* Bill and Ben's arguments from Season 17. Their new accents help too.
* During the seasons animated by Arc, you can't help but feel Thomas' face is a constant Crowning Moment of Funny, what with all the eye rolls and mischievous looks he gives.
** James supplies well in this area as well, Arc does great conveying what a smarmy bastard he is.
* A lot of the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tfZk_qK_-g so]][[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvdzdudsPCE und effe]][[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEkzOiWKtJ8 cts]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RcshR2ln00 that the narrators]][[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYU-bO0rYxg make during the model seasons]] are hilarious when they're not creepy.
* When Thomas himself took on voice-over narration duty after the show's ReTool in Season 22, the way he narrates most often is rather funny, sounding slightly overly dramatic or drawn out ([[MundaneMadeAwesome especially in the must mundane of scenes]]). He's probably doing his best to [[ItMakesSenseInContext imitate the original narration]] seen until now.
* Similarly ''Big World! Big Adventures!''' {{Imagine Spot}}s, while a divisive addition to some fans, are at least generally agreed to be hilarious. The fact they're AcceptableBreaksFromReality detached from the main story where the characters and universe can act ''any'' bizarre way the writers want does ''not'' go overlooked.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 1]]
[[AC:Thomas & Gordon / Thomas Gets Tricked]]
* The look on Gordon's face when he's thinking of how to get back at Thomas for teasing him.
* Thomas' comeuppance, via Gordon pulling him along with the express.
[[AC:Edward and Gordon / Edward Helps Out]]
* The moment where Gordon is ranting angrily when he is pulling a goods train instead of the express, much to Edward's amusement:
-->'''Gordon''': "A goods train! A goods train! A goods train! A goods train! The shame of it! The shame of it! Oh, the shame of it!"
* Later, as Edward came to push Gordon's train up the hill:
--->'''Edward''': I'm ready!\\
'''Gordon''': No good!

[[AC:The Sad Story of Henry / Come Out, Henry!]]
* The Fat Controller tells the passengers that his doctor had forbidden him to pull and push Henry out of the tunnel.
** ''The Adventure Begins'' takes this one step further, where it's implied that it's just an excuse and nothing else.
* There's also the HardWorkMontage of the workmen bricking up Henry.

[[AC:Edward, Gordon, and Henry / Henry to the Rescue]]
* Gordon breaks down in front of the tunnel where Henry is walled up. Since Gordon has been taunting Henry about his predicament for months, Henry—and the audience—both enjoy a good laugh at Gordon's expense.
** Then there's the Fat Controller's comment afterwards.
-->'''The Fat Controller''': Huh! I never liked these big engines! Always going wrong. Send for another engine at once!"
* There's also the Fat Controller leaning out of the window to wave at Edward and Henry - which blows his hat off, whereupon [[ExtremeOmniGoat a goat eats it]], much to his dismay.

[[AC:Thomas' Train / A Big Day for Thomas]]
* Here's Thomas rushing the coaches as he collects them for the passenger train.
-->'''Thomas:''' Come along! Come along!\\
'''Coaches:''' There's plenty of time! There's plenty of time!

[[AC:Thomas and the Breakdown Train / Thomas Saves the Day]]
* There's Thomas' expression as he watches James being lifted by the breakdown cranes.

[[AC:James and the Coaches / James Learns a Lesson]]
* After James breaks one of the coaches' pipe, the guard asks a smartly-dressed man to give him his bootlace to mend it. He flatly refuses, and the passengers told him how bad he was, which led him to give up the bootlace.
-->'''Guard''': You have a leather bootlace I see, sir. Please give it to me.\\
'''Man:''' I won't!\\
'''Guard''': Then, I'm afraid the train will stop where it is.\\
'''Narrator''': The passengers all said what a bad railway it was, then told the man how bad he was instead. Everyone was very cross.

[[AC:Troublesome Trucks / Foolish Freight Cars]]
* The eponymous trucks' insult to James as he goes to collect them.
-->'''Trucks:''' Oh! Oh! Oh! We want a proper engine, not a red monster!

[[AC:James and the Express / A Proud Day for James]]
* The dialogue between Gordon and James after Gordon returns to Knapford station after a mishap.
-->'''James:''' Hello, Gordon, is it tomorrow?\\
'''Gordon:''' [Lets off steam feebly]\\
'''James:''' Did you lose your way, Gordon?\\
'''Gordon:''' No. It was lost for me. I was switched off the main line onto the loop. I had to go all round and back again.\\
'''James:''' [[IronicEcho Perhaps it was instinct.]]
* Another funny moment is the Fat Controller getting the angry passengers to stop complaining by blowing the guard's whistle and all they could do is look at him.

[[AC:Thomas Goes Fishing]]
* Just like above, Thomas shows this [[http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/107/2/1/thomas__o_face_aka_the_face_of_evil_by_bloatenator-d61rbtk.png face]] when he learns that a fish is inside his boiler. The accompanying sound cue makes it all the more funny.

[[AC:Thomas, Terence, and the Snow / Terence the Tractor]]
* Thomas' cross reaction of having to wear his snowplough for the first time.
** Then Thomas' driver yelling at Thomas for damaging his snowplough and the shed doors shut, all while Thomas wears a grumpy look on his face.
-->'''Driver''': You're a very naughty engine!\\
[Shed doors slam]

[[AC:Tenders and Turntables]]
* The beginning scene where Gordon, Henry, and James are grumpily shunting their own coaches:
-->'''Gordon, Henry, and James''': We get no rest! We get no rest!\\
'''Coaches''': You're lazy and slack! You're lazy and slack!
* The narration mentioning that Gordon thought The Fat Controller had given him a tender [[SmallNameBigEgo to show how important he was.]]
* There's Gordon pulling the Express backwards and a young boy mistakes him for a tank engine. This is followed up with Thomas' snark.
-->'''Thomas''': Hello, Gordon! Playing tank engines? Sensible engine. Take my advice: Scrap your tender and have a nice bunker!
* After that, it was James' turn to laugh at Gordon:
-->'''Gordon''': Take care! You might stick, too!\\
'''James''': No fear! I'm not so fat as you!
* Let's not forget James spinning around the turntable (which happens because he balances the table [[GoneHorriblyRight too well]]). Then Gordon, who was watching him, teases him.
-->'''Gordon''': Well, well, are you playing roundabouts?
* In the ending, Gordon, Henry, and James discuss their misfortunes earlier that day - Gordon pulling the Express backwards, James spinning around the turntable, and going to dirty sidings, all complete with Gordon saying "Eeech!"

[[AC:The Flying Kipper]]
* There's this dialogue between the driver, fireman, and guard inside the brakevan.
-->'''Guard''': The Kipper is due.\\
'''Fireman''': [[TooDumbToLive Who cares? This is good cocoa]].

[[AC:Whistles & Sneezes]]
* Some boys throw stones at Henry. He gets his revenge on the return journey by "sneezing" all over them, covering them in {{ash|Face}}.

[[AC:Toby and the Stout Gentleman]]
* Bridget mistaking Toby for an electric tram is good for a laugh, as is Toby's reaction.

[[AC:Thomas In Trouble / Thomas Breaks the Rules]]
* Thomas' meeting with the new policeman.
-->'''Policeman''': Disgraceful! I didn't sleep a wink last night, it was so quiet, and now engines come whistling suddenly behind me!\\
'''Thomas''': I'm sorry. I only said good morning.\\
'''Policeman''': Where's your cowcatcher?\\
'''Thomas''': [[LiteralMinded But I don't catch cows, sir.]]\\
'''Policeman:''' Don't be funny!
* The Fat Controller argues with the policeman and gets absolutely nowhere. Just think: The highest railway authority failed to convince the constable that his railway's safety record around the quarry lines has rendered an obsolete law, well, obsolete.
* The policeman yelling "Oi, You!" at Toby, when Toby rings his bell at him and frightens him.

[[AC:Dirty Objects / James in a Mess]]
* There's James expressing his disgust at pulling trucks by saying "''Dirty'' trucks/cars from ''dirty'' sidings! Eeech!" What's more funny is that in the UK version, he says "Eeech!" just after his theme ends.

[[AC:Off The Rails / Gordon Takes a Dip]]
* The episode is particularly amusing, as Gordon is being more pompous than usual, thinking how large and splendid he is. Henry arrives and completely destroys that image by calling "Peep! Peep! Peep! Hello! Fat face!" ("Lazybones" in the U.S. dub). Gordon is not amused.
** In finnish version, Henry chipperly says "Hello, chubby cheeks!"
* Gordon's reaction about having to pull trucks instead of coaches.
-->'''Gordon's driver:''' Wake up, Gordon. A special train is coming and we're to pull it.\\
'''Gordon:''' Is it coaches or trucks?\\
'''Gordon's driver:''' Trucks.\\
'''Gordon:''' Trucks?! Peh!!
** After this, there's Gordon's grumbling as Edward pushes him to the turntable when his fire wouldn't start.
-->'''Gordon''': I won't go! I won't go!\\
'''Edward:''' Don't be silly! Don't be silly!
* There's the song some boys sing to insult Gordon.
-->''Silly old Gordon fell in a ditch,\\
Fell in a ditch, fell in a ditch.\\
Silly old Gordon fell in a ditch\\
All on a Monday morning.''

[[AC:Down the Mine]]
* Thomas teasing Gordon for smelling like ditchwater.
-->'''Thomas''': Phew! What a funny smell!\\
[Gordon looks across Thomas]\\
'''Thomas''': Can you smell that smell?\\
'''Annie & Clarabel''': I can't smell that smell.\\
'''Thomas''': A funny, musty sort of smell.\\
'''Gordon''': No one noticed it 'till you did. It must be yours.\\
'''Thomas''': Annie, Clarabel, do you know what I think it is? It's ditchwater!
* When Thomas ignores the "danger" sign and falls into a ditch, he cries out how much of a silly engine he was. Then Fat Controller appears out of nowhere and adds "And a very naughty one, too.". It's even funnier when he was [[PerpetualSmiler smiling]] while lecturing Thomas.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 2]]
[[AC:Thomas, Percy and the Coal]]
* Thomas getting buried in a pile of coal from the coal chute, thus getting his paint ruined. It's ridiculous because the coal chute was still pouring after Percy and the trucks moved away, making viewers wonder what kind of workman would continuously pour coal over an engine.

[[AC:Bertie's Chase]]
* Edward's fireman's singing in the beginning.
-->'''Edward's fireman''': 🎵 Oh, dear, what could the matter be? Johnny so long and🎵--\\
'''Edward's driver''': Never you mind about Johnny! Just you climb up the cab and look for Thomas!

[[AC:Saved From Scrap]]
* Thomas and Edward's exchange at the start of the episode:
--> '''Edward:''' I'm going to the scrapyard today.\\
'''Thomas:''' What, already? You're not ''that'' old!

[[AC:Duck Takes Charge]]
* The part where Percy annoys Gordon and James at the start of "Duck Takes Charge" in this exchange:
-->'''Percy''': Do you know what?\\
'''Gordon''': What?\\
'''Percy''': Do you know what?\\
''({{beat}})''\\
'''Gordon''': Silly! Of course I don't know what! If you don't tell me what "what" is!

[[AC:Percy Takes the Plunge]]
* The dialogue between Henry and Percy:
-->'''Percy:''' [[Recap/ThomasTheTankEngineS1E3TheSadStoryOfHenry Once an engine attached to a train was afraid of a few drops of rain!]]\\
'''Henry:''' [[NeverLiveItDown No one will ever let me forget the time I wouldn't come out of the tunnel in case the rain spoiled my paint!]]
* There's the scene where Thomas tells Percy of the time he went past danger and fell down a mine:
-->'''Thomas''': I went past danger once and fell down a mine.\\
'''Percy''': [[LiteralMinded I can't see a mine.]]

[[AC:Pop Goes the Diesel]]
* Duck's bragging about the Great Western Railway.
-->'''Duck:''' There are two ways of doing things: The Great Western Way or the wrong way! I'm Great Western and--\\
'''Gordon, Henry, and James''': [[SarcasmMode Don't we know it!]]
* Duck's inability to say "revolutionary."
* The scene where Diesel makes a fool out of himself as he fails to pull a line of trucks with Duck watching on with a very amused face.
** Then Duck revealing to Diesel he allowed him on a fool's errand:
-->'''Duck:''' Thank you for arranging these trucks, Diesel. I must go now.\\
'''Diesel:''' Don't you want this lot?\\
'''Duck:''' No thank you.\\
'''Diesel:''' And I've taken all of this trouble?! Why didn't you tell me?\\
'''Duck:''' [[YouDidntAsk You never asked me.]] Besides, you were having so much fun being rev-whatever-it-was-you-said. Goodbye! [Leaves with another line of trucks]
** The trucks singing [[TheVillainSucksSong "Pop Goes the Diesel"]].

[[AC: Dirty Work / Diesel's Devious Deed]]
* Whenever Gordon, James and Henry start being vocal about their opinions on the subject of telling lies about other engines to the trucks. Henry was initially going to use the word "despicable" to describe it, but Gordon and James pipe in as well with some [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal other words that have similar beginnings]].
-->'''Gordon:''' Disgraceful!\\
'''James:''' Disgusting!\\
'''Henry:''' Despicable!

[[AC:A Close Shave / A Close Shave for Duck]]
* The barber's reaction when Duck crashes into his shop while he is shaving a customer. He is furious with Duck because he ''frightened the customers'' and decides to get back at the engine by coating his face in shaving cream. The Barber and his customers are lucky to be alive, frankly.
** The humor is most certainly intentional in the original novel, where after the crash, the barber's customer jumps out of his seat in terror, [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight but the barber merely repositions him and continues his work, only stopping to chastise Duck after he interjects]].
-->'''Barber:''' It's only an engine.

[[AC:Break Van / Donald And Douglas]]
* The fight with Donald and the brake van, where the former goes into ViolentGlaswegian mode and bumps the latter hard in order to stand up for Douglas.
-->'''Donald:''' Ye're a muckle nuisance! It's to leave you behind I'd be wantin'!\\
'''Brake van:''' You can't. I'm essential.\\
'''Donald:''' Och, are ye/Ah, are you?! Ye're nothin' but a screechin' and a noise when all's said and done! Spite Dougie, would ye?! Take that! ''(bumps the van)''\\
'''Brake van:''' OH! OH! OH! OW! OOH!\\
'''Donald:''' There's more comin' should ya misbehave.
* Douglas reminding James of the Tar Wagons incident, which amused Gordon and Henry.
--> '''Douglas:''' Anyone would think that Donald had his accident on purpose. I heard tell aboot an engine and some tar wagons.\\
'''James''': [[BigShutUp Shut up!]] [[MemeticMutation It's not funny!]]\\
'''Douglas''': Well, well, well! Surely, James, it wasnae/wasn't you. Ye didnae/didn't say!

[[AC:The Deputation]]
* Percy [[GotVolunteered getting volunteered]] by the other engines to be the titular deputation.
-->'''Percy:''' [[OhCrap Me?!]] I can't!\\
'''Henry:''' Rubbish, Percy! [[BlatantLies It's easy!]]

[[AC:Thomas Comes to Breakfast]]
* The above page image and caption come from this episode - [[MemeticMutation and for good reason]]:
-->'''Stationmaster's wife''': Just look what you've done to our breakfast!
** This is especially funny because before, Thomas had ''crashed into the stationmaster's dining room'' and demolished a good part of his house's frame. The wife's response is to ''yell at him for ruining breakfast''.
** Just to reiterate, she was ''[[SkewedPriorities more upset about having to make another breakfast than about an engine suddenly being INSIDE THEIR HOUSE.]]''
** Lady! He nearly crushed you and your family! Get some perspective!
* When the Fat Controller scolds Thomas for the accident, Thomas is apologizing while his voice is muffled by a bush.

[[AC:Daisy]]
* Daisy arrives on Sodor for the first time, and the first thing she does is complain about the sheds, much to Percy and Toby's annoyance.
-->'''Daisy''': This is dreadfully smelly! I'm highly sprung, and anything smelly is bad for my swerves!\\
[Percy and Toby look at each other, annoyed by Daisy's attitude]
* Daisy's reaction when a milk tanker is coupled up to her.
-->'''Daisy''': Do they expect me to pull THAT?!
** Then Daisy's reaction when the shunter calls her "feeble" for not wanting to pull a single tanker.
--->'''Daisy''': Feeble? FEEBLE?! [[LetMeAtHim Let me-!]]

[[AC:The Diseasel]]
* Just Bill and Ben messing with [=BoCo=]. First, it starts with one twin moving up to [=BoCo=]'s left and as one moves back, the other comes up on his right. They kept going back and forth until [=BoCo=] spins his eyes around.
-->'''[=BoCo=]''': Stop! You're making me giddy!

[[AC:Woolly Bear]]
* A crate of treacle looks like it's about to slip right out of the chains it's being held up with and fall onto Percy. Instead, [[http://i.imgur.com/IP943bH.gif the chain snaps.]]
* As Percy arrives to the station covered in hay, Thomas is said to be teasing Percy, but he is wearing a grumpy expression on his face as opposed to an amused face.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 3]]
[[AC:A Scarf for Percy]]
* The exchange between Percy and Henry:
-->'''Percy:''' My funnel's cold! My funnel's cold! I want a scarf! I want a scarf!\\
'''Henry:''' Rubbish, Percy! Engines don't wear scarves.\\
'''Percy:''' Engines with proper funnels do! You only have a small one!\\
[The screen displays a close up of Henry's funnel]

[[AC:Thomas, Percy, and the Dragon]]
* Percy, who has to stay in a siding until the jammed points were repaired, has a speechless reaction after his crew tells him that they are going home for tea.
* This dialogue when Percy tells Gordon about seeing the dragon:
-->'''Percy:''' You never guessed what I saw last night!\\
'''Gordon:''' [[NotNowKiddo I'm a busy engine. I don't have time for your games.]]\\
'''Percy:''' I've seen a huge dragon. It was covered in lights!\\
'''Gordon:''' You've been in the sun too long. Your dome has cracked! (leaves with the express with Percy looking cross at him for not believing him)

[[AC:Donald's Duck]]
* The dialogue where Duck [[MotorMouth boasts about his Great Western heritage]] to a sleepy Donald before he tells him to be quiet.
-->'''Duck:''' You don't understand, Donald, how much The Fat Controller relies on me.\\
'''Donald:''' [Mumbles sleepily]\\
'''Duck:''' I'm Great Western and I--\\
'''Donald:''' Quack, quack, quack!\\
'''Duck:''' What?\\
'''Donald:''' Ye heard! Quack, quack ye go! Sounds like ye had 'en egg laid! Now wheesh, and let an engine sleep!\\
'''Duck:''' [indignant] [[ParentheticalSwearing Quack yourself!]]

[[AC:The Trouble with Mud]]
* The beginning of the episode:
-->'''Thomas''': Hello, Gordon! You look as if you had a mud bath. Be a sensible engine and have a washdown instead.\\
'''Gordon''': I haven't time to dawdle over my appearance like fussy little tank engines do!
* Gordon, who refuses to get a washdown, splatters mud all over James, meaning that the red engine has to get washed ''again''.
* When the Fat Controller tells Gordon that Henry has to pull the Express due to the former being too muddy, Henry has a very excited expression on his face, complete with Gordon looking at him.
* There's one moment when Gordon bumps the trucks one by one.
-->'''Gordon''': That's for you! And you! And you!

[[AC:Thomas, Percy and the Post Train / Thomas, Percy and the Mail Train]]
* Harold sneering at Percy for being late with the post and Percy's LameComeback.
-->'''Harold''': Good morning! I always say railways were out of date, but you're so slow with the post, you should give everyone their stamps back. Post haste!\\
'''Percy''': Birdbrain.

[[AC:Mavis]]
* Toby's angry reaction to Mavis for shunting trucks in a different place.
-->'''Narrator:''' At last, Toby lost patience.\\
'''Toby:''' I can't waste time playing hunt the trucks with you! Take them yourself!\\
'''Narrator:''' Mavis was pleased. Taking trucks made her feel important.

[[AC:Buzz Buzz / James Goes Buzz Buzz]]
* James' reaction to getting stung on the nose by one of the bees.
-->"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
* After James' numerous unsuccessful attempts to shoo the bees off his boiler:
-->'''James' Driver:''' It's no good, James. We'll just have to go back to the orchard and fetch another hive.\\
'''Narrator:''' James' reply was drowned by the sound of buzzing.
* There's also the Vicar jokingly saying that if it was Christmas, James could easily be called "James the Red-Nosed Engine". To add to that, even James finds it pretty funny.

[[AC:All at Sea]]
* Harold interrupting Duck and Percy while they watch the regatta.
-->'''Harold''': Wakey, wakey!\\
'''Duck''' [Annoyed] I was looking at the boats!

[[AC:Tender Engines]]
* This exchange between Gordon and James in the beginning of the episode:
-->'''James:''' That's the third load of coal you had today Gordon. Some might say you're being rather greedy.\\
'''Gordon:''' I'm an important engine. Important engines need plenty of coal, but I doubt if you would understand that, James.
* This exchange between Gordon and Duck is very funny:
-->'''Duck''': I wouldn't drink all that water if I were you, Gordon. It might give you boiler ache.\\
'''Gordon''': Pah! What's this? [[DeadpanSnarker Educating Gordon Day?]] First James, and now you, Duck! Big Engines have big needs. Little engines are just annoying.\\
'''Duck''': Don't say I didn't warn you.
* Then after Gordon is depressed after Diesel's speech about diesels taking over, Henry and Duck [[SarcasmMode attempt]] to figure out why he's unhappy.
-->'''Gordon:''' I'm not happy.\\
'''Duck:''' I know. It's boiler ache.\\
'''Gordon:''' It's not boiler ache. It's-\\
'''Henry:''' Of course, it is. That water's bad. Have a good washout, then you'll feel a different engine. Your boiler must be full of sludge.\\
'''Gordon:''' Don't be vulgar!
* There's also Duck tricking Henry into pulling six dirty tenders, all full of boiler sludge.

[[AC:Oliver Owns Up]]
* Duck's nonchalant reaction to Oliver getting pushed into the turntable well by the Troublesome Trucks.
-->'''Duck''': Hello, Oliver. Are you being a good-gracious engine? Beg pardon, but we really don't like this sort of surprise.

[[AC:Percy, James, and the Fruitful Day]]
* The dialogue where Percy teases James for breaking down, paying him back for berating him for being late with the troublesome trucks:
-->'''Percy:''' Got yourself in a jam, hey James? What you might call "a sticky situation?"\\
'''James:''' Be quiet! It's not funny having jammed brakes!\\
'''Percy:''' And not very reliable either. I am surprised you let it happened, James. [[IronicEcho Nothing should stop us engines.]]\\
'''Percy's driver:''' That's enough, Percy. Can you push these trucks?\\
'''Percy:''' Of course I can. There's no time to lose. James has done too much of that already.\\
[James is angered at Percy's last statement.]
* After Percy gets covered in fruit after an accident, the Fat Controller gives him this lecture:
-->'''The Fat Controller''': "Percy, you're not to blame for the points failure, but I do not run a jam factory."\\
'''Percy:''' Yes, sir,-- Uh, no, sir!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 4]]
[[AC:Bulldog]]
* At the start of the episode, Percy wants to wake up the engines hoping they see his new coat of paint.
-->'''Percy''': Driver should be here by now. What's he doing?\\
'''Gordon''': [[DeadpanSnarker Sleeping.]]\\
'''Percy''': But that means I'll be late! The coaches will be waiting and the passengers will get cross.\\
'''Henry''': Rubbish!\\
'''James''': It's still early. [[HypocriticalHumor You just want to show off.]]\\
'''Percy''': [[BlatantLies No I don't!]]

[[AC:Peter Sam and the Refreshment Lady]]
* The Refreshment Lady cross with Peter Sam in George Carlin's narration:
-->'''Refreshment Lady''': What do you mean-a by leaving-a me behind?!?

[[AC:Trucks!]]
* The trucks confuse Peter Sam for Sir Handel. In the original novel, this happens because they're painted the same color, which is all fine and dandy, but in the TV episode, you have to wonder just how poor the trucks' eyesight is to do something like that.

[[AC:Home at Last]]
* There's the Fat Controller reprimanding Duncan for his rough travelling at the end of the episode.
-->'''The Fat Controller''': Listen to me! There is nothing wrong with that tunnel. You stuck in it because you tried to do Rock and Roll! [[DeadpanSnarker Tunnels are not dance floors, and you are not a pop star!]]
** Even funnier is his closing threat done while looking at Duncan's funnel:
--> '''The Fat Controller''': If it happens again, I shall find ways to cut you down to size. In other words, your career is...(''clears his throat/chuckles'')...[[IncrediblyLamePun on the line!]] Need I say more?
*** What particularly sells it is Duncan's [[LamePunReaction reaction]], as well as the accompanying sound effect.

[[AC:Steam Roller]]
* Sir Handel vs George. Need we say more about this pointless race?

[[AC:Bowled Out]]
* The Diesel goes to pull the express train after his fitter closes his access hatches. He only rolls a few yards before he breaks down for apparently no good reason. Duck and Stepney laugh in the background.
* This dialogue when the inspector finds his bowler hat the diesel sucked from his air intake.
-->'''Inspector''': My hat! You sucked it into your air intake!\\
'''The Fat Controller''': Bother your hat!
* The Diesel's parting gift for the engines: A rather nasty smell and a battered bowler hat.

[[AC:Henry and the Elephant]]
* In the start of the episode, Henry's retort to James after the latter reminded him of his initial fear of the rain:
-->'''Henry''': I'm not afraid of getting wet anymore! Anyway, you look silly enough to be a clown! You should join the circus!
* Gordon and Henry grumbling when James gets to take the circus home.
* Henry's complaining about the elephant splashing water over him:
--> '''Henry:''' An elephant pushed me! An elephant ''[[PerfectlyCromulentWord hooshed]]'' me!
* While the other narrators just make a screaming noise when the elephant squirts Henry, George Carlin makes an actual elephant noise. It's hilarious to listen to.
* At the end of the episode, we have this line.
-->'''Gordon:''' First the rain, then the elephant, whatever will you be afraid of next?

[[AC:Toad Stands By]]
* When Oliver passes by an array of trucks during the reprise of "Pop Goes Old Ollie", they are all jeering and laughing at him... except for [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ttte/images/d/d2/ToadStandsBy19.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20150331001644 the black van that just stares blankly at him with a weird face.]]
* The reactions of everyone watching S. C. Ruffey being torn apart. The troublesome trucks gape in horror while Duck and Toad cheer for Oliver.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 5]]
[[AC:Cranky Bugs]]
* Cranky gets knocked over due to a ship crashing into the engine shed and the roof pushing Cranky down. The engines are crying for help, but Cranky rather pathetically says he can't. Despite the seriousness of the situation, it was poetic to see Cranky being brought down a peg due to him being a {{Jerkass}} to Thomas and Percy.

[[AC:Horrid Lorry]]
* The episode about a group of rude lorries who take over the engines' work sees one of the lorries lose control and fall into a gorge. Instead of the usual [[BlatantLies "No one was hurt"]] narration, [[RefugeinAudacity we see the driver recovering by the accident, cross-eyed and with a cartoonish lump on his head along with a bird tweeting sound effect]], complaining about the road conditions.
-->'''Driver:''' Rotten roads...
* The other two lorries fare no better. One breaks his driving axle because he took too much flour and the other accidentally reversed into the sea. All after bragging about taking the railway's jobs away. For that matter, the drowned lorry is covered in seaweed, despite the fact that he didn't go that far off the dock.

[[AC:A Better View For Gordon]]
* The conversation between Gordon, James, and Percy at the beginning:
--> '''James''': Why are you complaining all the time?\\
'''Gordon''': [[{{Narcissist}} Because I'm a big blue engine and I know everything. I shall complain whenever I want! You're just a small red engine with ideas above your station!]]\\
'''Percy''': I can't see any.\\
'''Gordon''': Any what?\\
'''Percy''': [[LiteralMinded Ideas above the station. The sky is empty.]]\\
'''James''': Like your smokebox, Percy!
* After Gordon crashes through the station, The Fat Controller comes to see him on a lift, with his driver and fireman, bruised and bandaged.
---> '''TFC''': [[DeadpanSnarker Well, Gordon, I knew you wanted a panoramic view, but this is not the way to achieve it.]]
** After that:
-->'''Narrator''': When Gordon was repaired again, he took The Fat Controller to the new station for its ''second'' official opening.

[[AC:Lady Hatt's Birthday Party]]
* Most of ''Lady Hatt's Birthday Party''. The Fat Controller's attempts to get the party. The whole journey is downright hilarious...
* First, the Fat Controller's car blows out a tire after running across a pothole. He doesn't change the tire because he's wearing a brand new suit. Then the Fat Controller rides in Caroline, who also breaks down. Then the Fat Controller has to ride on George, who unintentionally splatters the man in oil, then loses control and crashes. The crash throws the Fat Controller into the mud, [[ClothingDamage ripping his suit and crushing his hat]] as the man sinks.
* After this, the Fat Controller rides on Thomas, serving as the replacement fireman as Thomas' fireman is out sick. He does get to the station on time.
* When the Fat Controller finally shows up for his wife's party, he looks silly, as the party guests laugh at his state of dress. Lady Hatt remarks that she didn't expect her husband to be in fancy dress, but that didn't matter.

[[AC:James and the Trouble with Trees]]
* Many moments with the trucks, but specifically in the episode "James and the Trouble with Trees".
-->'''Truck''': "Your colour's nice, James. Pity about your face, though." (Cue the trucks' laughter)

[[AC:Bye, George!]]
* George was insulting to Rheneas and Skarloey as when Percy arrives. When they leave, the two engines are very pleased to see him go.
-->'''Rheneas and Skarloey:''' Rollers are rubbish, so good riddance!
* This exchange:
-->'''George:''' Bumpy ride on rotten rails! I'm glad it's over!\\
'''Percy:''' So am I!\\
'''George:''' Ha!
* When Gordon is travelling fast with the express, unaware that a truck[[note]](freight car in the US version)[[/note]] is fouling the main line due to George harrassing Duck, we get this:
-->'''Gordon:''' I'm the greatest! [[TemptingFate Just watch me fly by]]!\\
'''Narrator:''' Suddenly, he saw a truck on the line ahead.\\
'''Gordon:''' [[OhCrap GET OUT OF MY WAY]]!!\\
'''Narrator:''' But the truck wouldn't move...\\
''(Gordon sends the truck flying, landing on the ground with a crash. Cut to a shocked Duck.)''\\
'''Narrator:''' ...until Gordon forced it...\\
''(Cut back to the destroyed truck.)''\\
'''Narrator:''' ...by accident.
** George's lines after blocking Duck.
--->'''Duck''': Let me through!\\
'''George''': You'll just have to wait!\\
'''Duck''': There's no time to wait! I must clear my trucks from the main line to let Gordon through!\\
'''George''': Pah! Then he'll have to wait, too!
* The ending after George gets punished:
-->'''George:''' I want to get rolling again, but I have to wait a whole week till I do.\\
'''Thomas:''' And then [[ChronicVillainy you'll be just as rude as ever]]! Eh, George?\\
'''Narrator:''' I hope not. Don't you?

[[AC:Baa!]]
* Just the title of the episode. No really.
* A sleepy Percy tells the engines his favorite station:
-->'''Thomas:''' My favorite station is Ffarquhar.\\
'''Toby:''' Mine is Maithwaite. Percy, what's yours?\\
'''Percy:''' [Sleepily] The docks.\\
'''Thomas:''' Ha! We can tell.
* The Fat Controller giving a pumpkin to the ram as a prize, and says he will eat his own hat if the ram doesn't like it. Then when Harold blew the Fat Controller's hat, the ram eats it, though the Fat Controller takes it very well.
-->'''The Fat Controller''': Well, seems I wouldn't be able to eat my hat even if I had to!

[[AC:Haunted Henry]]
* This gem in the beginning of the episode:
-->'''Edward:''' Whenever that owl hoots, a mist rolls in. And there's a legend that when the mist's about, there's a ghost about too. Take care on the old line, Henry.\\
'''Henry:''' Stupid bird!

[[AC:Double Teething Troubles]]
* Bill and Ben's argument over the trucks and [=BoCo=] stepping in to make them stop, but to no avail:
-->'''Bill:''' That's my line of trucks/cars!\\
'''Ben:''' It's not! It's mine! Yours is over there!\\
'''Bill:''' 'S mine!\\
'''Ben:''' 'S not!\\
'''Bill:''' 'S mine!\\
'''Ben:''' 'S not!\\
'''[=BoCo=]:''' Stop quarreling, you two, or the only thing you'll have left to share is... (''Bill and Ben go for the trucks, but end up derailing each other'') ...trouble.

[[AC:Something in the Air]]
* Henry's crash into the sea, coupled with him spitting water out of his mouth.
* The scene of Henry on the barge is a definite moment of embarrassment for him, but gets even funnier with these lines:
** First from the Fat Controller...
-->'''The Fat Controller:''' Engines don't swim, Henry. You were meant to deliver fish, not swim with them. You should know that by now.
** Then there's these remarks from Cranky..
-->'''Cranky:''' My, my, Henry! I expect you'll have some fishy tales to tell, but take my advice, have a long washdown first!
** And finally, and the children afterwards.
-->'''Child #1:''' Look, they've caught all this fish, and a green whale!\\
'''Child #2:''' That's not a whale. It's a monster!

[[AC:Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday]]
* While travelling downriver, Sir Topham and Lady Hatt's boat gets stuck on a mud bank and Percy comes to their rescue. The next shot is of Sir Topham and Lady Hatt on the boat as it moves again, with the former saying, "This is the life, isn't it, my dear?" [[BaitAndSwitch The camera then zooms out, revealing the boat to be on a flatbed that Percy is pushing]].

[[AC:Make Someone Happy]]
* The dialogue where Thomas tells off James for caring about himself while James is stubborn.
-->'''Thomas''': James, why don't you think of something or someone else for a change? You'll be surpised at how much better you feel if you do.\\
'''James''': Oh, please! Being important is the only thing for me TO think about! Ha!
* Mrs. Kindley informs the others that her sister couldn't be able to visit her. We get a shot at James with a face expression that reads "And I care because?".

[[AC:Snow]]
* The entire episode! Thomas is cross at the snow and Percy's mishap, Skarloey doesn't care he's covered in snow, the trucks don't care about themselves, and need I mention Skarloey's crew are drinking coco?!
* The ending takes the cake though. Gordon ruins everyone's day with his contraption, and then promptly gets stuck in the snow himself. The dialogue in the scene speaks for itself.
-->'''Gordon:''' Look out, there's snow about! (''Wheeshes loudly which starts a rumbling from the roof'') [[OhCrap Oh, no.]] ''[A large pile of snow falls on Gordon; muffled]'' Help!\\
'''Thomas:''' If Skarloey survived a snowfall and laughed, surely a big proud engine like you can do the same.\\
'''Gordon:''' PAH!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 6]]

[[AC:The Fogman]]
* Sir Topham Hatt testing the new foghorn to the engines.
-->'''Percy''': What's that?\\
'''Sir Topham Hatt''': It's a new invention. A railway foghorn. It lets you know when there's fog ahead. Like this. (''turns on on the device and it blares with enough force to knock loose a few shingles from the shed roof. Sir Topham Hatt switches the Foghorn back off.'')\\
'''Percy''': That's loud!\\
'''James''': Too loud!\\
'''Gordon''': Sounds like a tugboat to me!
* Percy's rant when he experiences the blasting foghorn in the valley.
-->'''Percy:''' Oh, bother/jeepers! That foghorn is so loud, it rattles my dome! And it doesn't even make my axles tingle!

[[AC:Scaredy Engines]]
* This gem.
-->'''Duck:''' It was naughty of Thomas to tease you, Percy.\\
'''Percy:''' He was only playing. I hope he hurries up. I wouldn't want him to be late for the fireworks.\\
'''Thomas:''' ''(rushes past)'' HE'S AFTER ME!!!\\
'''Duck:''' I don't think he'll be late.

[[AC:Middle Engine]]
* James trying to cover himself up in steam after being stuck in the middle. [[RealityEnsues It doesn't work.]]
* Earlier, we also have James laughing at Percy and calling him "Slow Coach Percy".

[[AC:Thomas, Percy and the Squeak]]
* While Thomas is picking up Alicia Botti he keeps hearing a squeak, despite having just been cleaned. When Alicia Botti is about to board she [[EekAMouse spots a mouse inside Clarabel]], she screams so loud and long that ''[[GlassShatteringSound windows break all over town]]!''
-->'''Gordon''': [[GilliganCut Definitely a coloratura]]!

[[AC:Thomas the Jet Engine]]
* Cranky's reaction after accidentally starting the jet engine with his hook.
-->'''Cranky:''' [[OhCrap Uh-oh]]...
* Everyone's reactions to Thomas getting jet-boosted along the main line. James freaks out as he gets covered in debris at a station. Henry gapes. Percy stares with a dropped jaw.
* We also get this gem:
-->'''Bertie:''' Want a race, Thomas? ''(Thomas whooshes past)'' Uh... never mind.
* Gordon boasts about being the fastest engine. Then Thomas whizzes by.
-->'''Thomas:''' [[StealthHiBye Hi Gordon, bye Gordon]]!
** Later, Thomas apologizes for overtaking Gordon. [[BlatantLies He says he didn't notice]].

[[AC:Thomas' Trusty Friends]]
* The construction team is sent to demolish a factory. They have to knock down a specific wall of the factory first. After an accident by Ned, the whole factory gets [[SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome destructed in a marvelous fashion.]] When we see the smoke clear, the wall they were meant to knock down first is still standing before slowly collapsing. The aftermath of the destruction for Thomas and Oliver the excavator is rather funny too.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 7]]
[[AC: Snow Engine / Oliver the Snow Engine]]
* The scene that leads up to Oliver's crash into the snowman juxtapose the completely contrasting moods of Oliver and Toad - Oliver is frantically and vainly trying to slow down, while Toad is nonchalantly asking what's wrong without any form of worry.
-->'''Toad''': Is there a problem, Mr. Oliver?
-->'''Oliver''': Yes! ''(crashes into the snowman)'' There is!\\
''(Toad slides sideways up next to him)''
-->'''Toad''': ''That'' could have been a little smoother …

[[AC:Something Fishy]]
* This exchange:
-->'''Thomas''': Hurry up! I'm a busy engine!\\
'''Fisherman''': And a fussy one too! Just enjoy the fresh salty smell of the fish!
[[AC: The Grand Opening]]
* Lady Hatt's reaction when the hot air balloon's burner suddenly runs out of fuel.
-->'''Lady Hatt''': I want to get off!\\
'''The Fat Controller''': Not now, dear.
* This gem after the balloon falling onto a tree next to Skarloey.
-->'''Lady Hatt''': My hat is ruined!\\
'''The Fat Controller''': So is mine.
[[AC: Gordon & Spencer]]
* Spencer lying about why he stopped on the hill:
--> '''Gordon''': Run out of water?\\
'''Spencer''': Yes. I must have a leaky tank.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 8]]
[[AC:Emily's New Route]]
* When Emily arrives with her flour delivery very late due to the Troublesome Trucks' misbehavior, the Fat Controller makes a complaint that he won't get any toast or crumpets for breakfast.

[[AC:Fish]]
* Salty's [[TooKinkyToTorture reaction]] after Thomas crashes the fish trucks into him.
-->'''Salty''': Never mind, ye hearty. The smell reminds me of the sea.

[[AC:Emily's Adventure]]
* The moment where Thomas points out Emily's rudeness towards Elizabeth.
-->'''Emily''': She won't do a thing I tell her!\\
'''Thomas''': That's because you're a big bossy boiler.

[[AC:Chickens to School]]
* The title of the episode. If that's not enough, there's the result of Thomas' mix-ups. Sheep made a mess in the market, children were having fun in the farm, and chickens messed up the classroom.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 9]]
[[AC:Emily Knows Best]]
* Emily throughout the episode thinking she's a queen and knows what to do. One particular scene is where ignores Toby's advice and claims that [[KnowNothingKnowItAll she always knows what to do.]] Toby laughs at her statement, which made her angry.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 10]]
[[AC:The Green Controller]]
* Gordon's [[OhCrap reaction]] when Percy informs him that he's temporarily in charge for today.
** After this Percy orders Gordon to pull slow coaches, which shocks him even further. This also marks the debut of his catchphrase "O the indignity".
* One mangled recollection of the Fat Controller's orders leads to James getting painted like a bee. Even funnier that Percy gives this order with utter sternness while James looks completely mortified. Here's the dialogue:
-->'''Percy:''' James, you must be a busy bee!\\
'''James:''' [Surprised] Do you mean I have to be painted yellow and black?\\
'''Percy:''' [Sternly] Yes, James!\\
'''James:''' But why?\\
'''Percy:''' [[BecauseISaidSo Because I'm controller!]]

[[AC:Thomas and the Birthday Mail]]
* There's Rosie shouting "It's meeeeee!" when she finds Thomas trapped in the avalanche.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 11]]
[[AC:Emily's Rubbish / Emily and the Garbage]]
* Just every time Emily tries to hide from [[ThePigPen Whiff]], only for him to find her.

[[AC:Don't Be Silly, Billy]]
* After being constantly snubbed by Billy and his BrattyHalfPint behaviour, Thomas finally gives up and tells him to just do whatever he wants. A joyous Billy rushes off as jaunty happy music plays in the background....[[LaserGuidedKarma only for him to finally run out of coal and water all of a couple seconds later]].

[[AC:Thomas and the Stinky Cheese]]
* Diesel's disgusted face when Thomas arrives, covered in stinky cheese.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 12]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 13]]
[[AC:Splish, Splash, Splosh!]]
* Thomas splashes through a puddle, sending water on top of the Fat Controller and Alicia Botti. As it comes down on them, the Fat Controller tries, in vain, to shield Alicia with ''his top hat''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 14]]
[[AC:Jumping Jobi Wood]]
* This conversation at the start of the episode:
-->'''Dash:''' Please, please, can we go too?\\
'''Bash:''' We know just what to do!\\
'''Ferdinand:''' That's right, boss.\\
'''Sir Topham Hatt:''' ''(offended)'' [[BerserkButton Boss?!]]\\
'''Thomas:''' ''(whispering)'' Sir Topham Hatt.\\
''(The Logging Locos are embarrassed.)''\\
'''Dash:''' Sir...Topham...\\
'''Bash:''' ...Hatt.\\
'''Ferdinand:''' That's right...
* Edward getting stuck on the Shake Shake Bridge.
* The Fat Controller demands an explanation for the obvious chaos, stating what he has seen: "The mayor is waiting for the jobi wood! Edward is swinging on a bridge! Logs are jumping like frogs! And..."
-->'''James:''' [[TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers My shiny red coat is RUINED!]]
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 15]]

[[AC:James to the Rescue]]
* Most of James and Toby's interaction. After being assigned to rescue a derailed Gordon, Toby meekly interrupts [[UnwantedAssistance James' less than well-tactized plans to rerail Gordon]], continuously suggesting to get Rocky, to an increasingly frustrated but adjustedly polite "NO!...Thank you...Toby". Toby's [[ThisIsGonnaSuck reaction]] to James [[TooDumbToLive trying to shunt Gordon upright]] is pretty funny too.

[[AC:Fiery Flynn]]
* Edward's confused "what just happened?" expression as Flynn pulls up beside him and sprays water all over him, in "Fiery Flynn". Also, the conversation afterwards:
-->'''Edward''': I don't need saving!\\
'''Flynn''': [[CaptainObvious You're not on fire]]?\\
'''Edward''': No!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 16]]
[[AC:Thomas Toots the Crows]]
* The moment when Thomas blows his whistle to get some crows off of Gordon while he's being painted. Right after doing this, the painter accidentally manages [[MustacheVandalism to give Gordon a mustache]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 17]]
[[AC:Gordon Runs Dry]]
* One part has Gordon naming stations to keep his mind off water:
-->'''Gordon:''' Let's see... Tidmouth, Knapford, Crosby, Wellsworth, Maron, Kronk, [[ArsonMurderAndJayWalking a lake]]... ''(screams, as he passes an actual lake)''

[[AC:The Thomas Way]]
* In the ending, Duck discussed with Thomas that there are three ways of doing things - The Great Western Way, the wrong way, and The Thomas Way, yet The Great Western Way is usually the best. Cue to both engines laughing.

[[AC:No Snow for Thomas]]
* Thomas' reaction when he sees Emily pulling Annie and Clarabel. Emily then promptly rubs it in his face.

[[AC:The Phantom Express]]
* Percy falling into a pit of moat alongside Stephen. Then Stephen says, casually, "I see you've found the meeting place."

[[AC:Bill or Ben?]]
* Bill and Ben tricking Connor. Twice. And the scene where Ben tricks Kevin into repainting him while Victor is away.

[[AC:The Smelly Kipper]]
* The episode has a great deal of humor around the engines' playful teasing of each other. First we have a cocky James agreeing to Henry's dare to pull the Flying Kipper. After he eventually changes his mind, he manages to slyly convince a groggy Henry he just dreamed the whole thing. However when the Fat Controller comes to query the whole thing, Thomas and Gordon point out James really did agree to Henry's bargain (complete with hilarious "busted" smirks). The following morning James comes back, irritable and smelling of fish ("I...had a little accident!"), the other engines erupt in laughter.
-->'''Gordon:''' ''*laughing, eyeing the fish on his buffer beam*'' It looks like he's brought a present for the Fat Controller!

[[AC:No More Mr. Nice Engine]]
* Hiro stops for some ducks crossing the railroad. One of which stops and quacks at him.
* "Hiro, you have caused confusion and delay...[[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking and terrible trouble to my trousers]]!"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 18]]
[[AC:Old Reliable Edward]]
* The ending has quite possibly the cleverest usage of Gordon's infamous catchphrase of all time.
-->'''Edward''': And what do you say?\\
'''Gordon''': Oh, the indignity...\\
'''Edward''': Sorry? (smug look)\\
'''Gordon''': I mean...thank you. Thank you, Edward.
** Basically Gordon got stuck on his hill because ''he mistook a pair of red pants for a danger signal''.

[[AC:Not So Slow Coaches]]
* Annie and Clarabel are accidentally coupled to Caitlin's train, causing them to panic when Caitlin accelerates down the Main Line.
-->'''Annie:''' I don't like this at all!\\
'''Clarabel:''' I've got my eyes closed!\\
'''Annie:''' Does it help?\\
'''Clarabel:''' No! Not really!

[[AC:Flatbeds of Fear]]
* "[[MadnessMantra I don't want to hear the Flatbeds of Fear...I don't want to hear the Flatbeds of Fear...]]"

[[AC:Disappearing Diesels]]
* The diesels are hiding from Paxton as part of a joke. Den and Dart are hiding behind a line of trucks. Paxton calls out if anyone's there. Den says "No" out loud... and then Paxton rolls away.
* Diesel breaks down and becomes stranded on the line while trying to hide from Paxton, who catches up with him. Diesel explains that he was trying to hide from Paxton as part of the prank he's been playing on him all day. His response? "[[ComicallyMissingThePoint Well that's not a very good hiding place.]]"
* "[[NonSequitur I'm a truckload]] [[BlatantLies of sausages!]]"

[[AC:Toad's Adventure]]
* Dowager Hatt's awful singing in ''Toad's Adventure''.

[[AC:Signals Crossed]]
* Henrietta's face when James and The Fat Controller find out Toby was right about the signal.
** Plus, forcing James to apologize to her as well as Toby (albeit as dryly as possible). Also a MOA.

[[AC:Duck in the Water]]
* We're briefly treated to a scene with [[StealthPun some ducks swimming across the flooded track]] right in front of Duck, who is waiting to be pulled out. Duck's annoyed face tells you everything.
** Also, Duck's rather annoyed "Can I get out of the water now?"
** When the Fat Controller first enlists James (who was pretty much begging he wasn't going to pick him), the engine makes every possible excuse not to fetch Duck, even getting snarky with his boss. Made even funnier due to the Fat Controller's deadpan treatment, as if he's had this argument with James a million times before.

[[AC:Duck and the Slip Coaches]]
* Emily pulls up to the sheds and sees that all the births are full because Duck is staying the night. Disheartened, she sighs and goes away. Then, at the end of the episode, she finds a spare birth...only for Henry to speed past her and take it.
** Becomes significantly less funny when you remember [[ReplacementScrappy what some fans]] think about Emily...
** The revelation James stole Duck's idea, all played through facial expressions between the Fat Controller and James, is priceless.

[[AC:Duncan and the Grumpy Passenger]]
* At the end of the episode, Duncan starts grumbling and gives us this gem.
-->'''Duncan''': [[HypocriticalHumor Why do people always think it's me who's grumbling? I mean, I've never grumbled in my life! Me? Grumbling? Don't think so!]]

[[AC:Marion and the Pipe]]
* Marion's face when she tries dumping dirt on the leaking pipe.
** The way she clears the boulder off Gordon's line. "FORE!" *thwack*

[[AC:Missing Gator]]
* This is probably more worthy of a facepalm, but Percy gives us the absolute most brainless rhyme in all of the show. (It sort of MakesSenseInContext though.)
-->'''Percy''': Keeping busy, keeping busy, never thinking isn't easy! Push some more trucks down the line--who needs thinking? I feel fine!

[[AC:No Steam Without Coal]]
* Ben's "nyah nyah!" to Timothy in "No Steam Without Coal". His facial expression is priceless.

[[AC:Spencer's VIP]]
* The episode has the annoyed Deputy Minister giving the Fat Controller a newspaper while voicing how unreliable he thinks Spencer is. Just look at what the Fat Controller's doing there--he actually thinks it's his award for a few seconds.
* Oliver shutting up Duck in the middle of his "Great Western Way" spiel when they end up nearly bumping into each other on the same rail due to missing a signal.
* When James suddenly brakes at the station and causes a bumpy stop for his passengers, Gordon arrives to rub it in. Then comes James' answer:
--> '''James''': Well, at least ''my'' passengers can step onto the platform, Gordon!"\\
''(Gordon looks behind and [[OhCrap realizes his own mistake]])''
* Thomas tries getting an early start after getting coal, and ends up getting coal all over Annie and Clarabel.
--> '''Clarabel''': Coaches don't need coal!

[[AC:Toad's Bright Idea]]
* Oliver catches himself short on a bad pun.
-->'''Oliver''': See you later, Gator! In a while, um...[[SubvertedRhymeEveryOccasion Toad]].

[[AC:Samson At Your Service]]
* Samson alone is a Walking Moment of Funny, but the other engine's reactions to him obliviously dragging the Express along are classic.

[[AC:Samson Sent For Scrap]]
* At the end of the episode, Scruff stops Samson from accidentally scrapping Sir Topham Hatt's car. When Samson explains his actions to Sir Topham Hatt, Sir Topham Hatt tells him that his car is not junk, [[TemptingFate then he pets his car and the rear-view mirror falls off]]. This results in an EverybodyLaughsEnding.

[[AC:Long Lost Friend]]
* When Gator first greets Thomas, Thomas casually says good morning back to him, only to instantly stop with an "OhCrap" face upon realizing whom he has spoken to.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 19]]
[[AC:Who's Geoffery?]]
* The episode has Thomas shunting the Troublesome Trucks too hard, causing Cranky to drop a crate of red balls that bounce all over the place.
** Thomas' face and voice when imitating Geoffrey is downright ''hilarious.''

[[AC:Henry Spots Trouble]]
* Basically the whole plot of the episode. Henry freaks out when he sees Thomas, Paxton and Gordon with spotted faces, thinking they got chicken pox. Funniest when he sees the third, causing him to [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere instantly reverse]].

[[AC:Reds vs Blues]]
* Percy borrowing a certain {{Catchphrase}} to let Thomas and James know they're screwed[[note]]For context, the two got into a race and accidentally left the Fat Controller (who was the referee of a soccer game) and the opposing soccer team behind[[/note]], all while wearing a big cheeky grin on his face.
-->'''Percy:''' And then there was trouble!

[[AC:Diesel's Ghostly Christmas]]
* Paxton playing the role as The Ghost of Christmas Present.
-->'''Diesel:''' There's no such thing as ghosts!\\
'''Paxton:''' ''(soliloquizing)'' Then I must be good at pretending!

[[AC:Goodbye, Fat Controller]]
* The engines discussing about the Fat Controller supposedly leaving Sodor.
-->'''Edward''': Well, I, for one, will miss him when he goes.\\
'''Gordon''': So will I. Even though he does get very cross sometimes.\\
'''Percy''': [Chuckles] Especially with Thomas!\\
'''Thomas''': Not just with me!
* When the Controller is surprised by the engines arriving early and doing their jobs ahead of schedule, causing him to think that his watch is wrong. At one point, there are no engines at the station, but when he looks up from his watch, there they are in front of him!
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 20]]
[[AC:Henry Gets the Express]]
* Gordon pulling goods trains and feeling embarrassed in "Henry Gets The Express", particularly when Salty shunts one for him. He can be heard in the background ''apologizing''.

[[AC:Diesel and the Ducklings]]
* There's a FunnyBackgroundEvent where Diesel's driver snatches the broom from Percy's driver after Diesel bumps into Percy at the washdown.

[[AC:Bradford the Brake Van]]
* The titular brake van going [[DrillSergeantNasty drill sergeant]] on the Troublesome Trucks is absolutely priceless.
-->'''Bradford:''' RIGHT, YOU HORRIBLE LOT - I'M IN CHARGE NOW! So no bumping and none of your cheek!\\
'''Truck:''' Ah! But we like bumping.\\
'''Bradford:''' Not on my watch, matey! This is now a bump-free zone! Oh dear, how sad, never mind. When you're ready, Thomas.

[[AC:Pouty James]]
* James being a show-off by arriving while shouting, "[[CatchPhrase Here's James!]]". And also the annoyed reactions of the other engines, including ''[[{{Jerkass}} Diesel]]''.
** The FunnyBackgroundEvent at the start of the episode, Percy of all engines, is seen rolling his eyes at James' antics.
** There's the Fat Controller putting an end to James' showing off:
--->'''James''': Heeere's--\\
'''The Fat Controller''': [[InterruptedCatchphrase ...JAMES!]]
* James making a pouty face, and the engines (except Edward and Percy) poking fun at him for it by making funny faces.
** The scene where James promises to behave. The scene cuts to James complaining about taking some waste trucks, and pouts while taking them.

[[AC:The Way She Does It]]
* Daisy boasting about her special performer passengers to the other engines:
** This priceless exchange between her and Thomas:
-->'''Daisy:''' Guess what I'm going to be doing tomorrow.
-->'''Thomas:''' Sitting in your shed?
-->'''Daisy:''' ''*flatly*'' No.
-->'''Thomas:''' Working at the waste dump? Taking monkeys to the animal park? Ooh! I know! [[TakeThat Going to Misty Island?]]
-->'''Daisy:''' [[NoJustNoReaction NO!]]
** Daisy then boasts about her job to Duck and Oliver in a rather glamorized language. The two more or less do the equivalent of smiling and nodding.
-->'''Duck:''' That engine....I have no idea what she just said to me.
-->'''Oliver:''' Me neither.
*** This is the episode that started the RunningGag of Daisy speaking GratuitousFrench... and none of the other engines understanding her!
** For the final one, Daisy is revealed to be rambling on about her job to [[CallBack a bull]] that just stares blankly at her.

[[AC:Saving Time]]
* Samson arrives to the yards and greets Thomas, Stanley, and Diesel. Thomas and Stanley greet him back, but Diesel gives his own "hello" just by groaning.
* At the end of the episode, Samson learns that taking too many stone trucks doesn't save time after all, and decides to take a shorter train, [[ALessonLearnedTooWell this one consisting of only one stone truck]].

[[AC:All in Vain]]
* Edward [[BorrowedCatchphrase borrowing James' catchphrase]] as he arrives to collect the Fat Controller and the Mayor.
-->'''Edward''': Heeeere's Edward!

[[AC:Buckled Tracks and Bumpy Trucks]]
* The Fat Controller's mother shows up just to give him a pith helmet, as she knows that the controller's black top hat will make him sweat more. How does our controller react to the people in the station chuckling at his expense?
-->'''Fat Controller''': Oh, the indignity.\\
'''Gordon''': That's my line!
* The Fat Controller's face when he "accidentally" loses the pith helmet just to be rid of it, and the expression he gets when a porter "finds" it.
* In the ending, the Fat Controller tosses his pith helmet to the goat so he can eat, [[EvenTheRatsWontTouchIt but the goat didn't like it and tossed it back to him]].

[[AC:Tit for Tat]]
* Annie and Clarabel taking a jab at Thomas.
-->'''Thomas:''' What does that make me then? Am I a usual engine?\\
'''Annie:''' Why I suppose you are, Thomas.\\
'''Clarabel:''' Yes, you're usually very silly.
* Bert takes some statements a little too seriously, thinking that the Thin Clergyman would try to turn him into a book.

[[AC:Mike's Whistle]]
* The other engines laughing at the sound of Duck's jammed whistle after his driver boiled an egg on it.
-->'''Rex''': Is that really you, Duck? I never knew you could boil an egg on a steam whistle!\\
'''Duck''': Neither do I, and I don't recommend it.\\
'''Duck's driver''': Alright, alright! Don't go on about it, Duck.
* Mike being teased by Bert and Rex in response to comments about Duck's whistle.
-->'''Mike''': If engines can't whistle properly, they shouldn't try.\\
'''Bert''': Then why do you?\\
'''Mike''': I was talking about Duck. Unlike him, I have an excellent whistle. [Blows whistle]\\
'''Rex''': If I had a whistle like yours, Mike...\\
'''Mike''': Yes.\\
'''Rex''': I'd lose it!
** After this, Mike's steam pressure went so high that his safety valve blew off. It best demonstrates how much of a hot-tempered engine he is.

[[AC:Useful Railway]]
* Rex's accident is played in ''agonizingly'' slow motion.

[[AC:Henry in the Dark]]
* Kevin's clumsiness at the Steamworks is demonstrated both on-screen and off-screen (with an audible crash).
-->'''Victor''': That's our Kevin.
* Henry's new coat of paint turns out to be luminous paint, as it appears that nobody in the Steamworks ever keeps labels on the paint cans!
* Thomas, James, and Gordon freak out upon seeing Henry, thinking that they've seen a ghost train. The musical cues during each encounter (especially Gordon's immediate reaction to seeing Henry) sell the moments.
* Gordon denies being scared. Yeah, right.
* Cranky, who can't run and hide from Henry, is whimpering with his eyes closed.
* After Henry discovers the reason why everyone thinks he's a ghost (namely, his reflection in a mirror), he starts chuckling to himself, while Porter pulls a scare whistle on Salty.
* The next night, every engine is too scared to go out. The Fat Controller arrives to scold them for not taking the postal train. He is especially ticked off at the mention of a ghost train.
-->'''Fat Controller''': You silly engines! I'm telling you all, for the last time, there is no such thing as a ghost train.
* Then Henry arrives, blows his whistle to attract attention, scaring everyone (even the Fat Controller) with his glowing livery.
* Just as Henry explains that he was just getting back at the others for dismissing him as a scaredy engine, Thomas asks where the Fat Controller went. Cue the Fat Controller with a bucket on his head jumping out of a pile of coal, scaring everyone and even Henry.
* The Fat Controller ''almost'' puts the coal bucket back on his head before explaining what he's figured out. After instructing Henry to get repainted, the Fat Controller praises him and says Henry will receive a "glowing" report for being the only engine working that night. Everyone except Gordon laughs at this pun. Gordon groans.

[[AC:Over the Hill]]
* Stephen and Glynn taking a jab at Gordon.
-->'''Stephen''': [[WhileYouWereInDiapers I was winning races before you were even a sketch on a drawing board, young Gordon!]]\\
'''Glynn''': Good one, Stephen! Would you like a [[{{Pun}} cup of tea]] with that, young Gordon?

[[folder:Season 21]]
[[AC:A Most Singular Engine]]
* After listening to Diesel's MaliciousSlander about each other for days, Daisy and Harvey finally cross paths. Cue the epic stare down, complete with an off-key version of "Eye of the Tiger".

[[AC:Dowager Hatt's Busy Day]]
* The episode begins with Sir Topham Hatt [[SickEpisode catching a cold]], but still trying to get on with his job of running the railway. Dowager Hatt arrives, scolds him for trying to do his job when he is sick, and gets two workmen to take him away.
* Dowager Hatt [[AccidentalMisnaming misnaming]] the engines. She calls Emily "Emiline", "Emerald", "Ermentrude", "Elma", and "Esmeralda", and Gordon "Geoffrey", "Gregory", "Gerald", and "Gavin".
* When Sir Topham Hatt sneezes, his tissue lands on Percy's nose. As Dowager Hatt gives the engines their jobs, [[FunnyBackgroundEvent Percy is seen trying to get it off with no success.]]
* Dowager Hatt gives all the engines all the wrong jobs, and has them do particularly strange jobs, such as carrying hats and cakes. When Cranky questions, "What next, balloons?", the next scene involves Emily pulling up to a giant balloon on a flatbed being pulled by James, who is halted at a traffic jam, which involves, among other things, Den pulling empty trucks, Paxton pulling trucks with elephants in them, Diesel pushing a flatbed with a dinosaur statue, and Toby pulling trucks with giraffes in them.
-->'''James''': This is is absurd! None of us know what job Dowager Hatt wants us to do next!\\
'''Henry''': We’re all stuck here, waiting for her to finish pruning her pelargoniums!
* Emily tells Dowager Hatt that none of the engines are doing the jobs they're supposed to, such as her pulling Thomas' passengers, and Gordon pulling her scrap cars. She then asks Dowager Hatt who she got to pull Gordon's express. Cut to Percy struggling to pull Gordon's heavy coaches up Gordon's Hill.
** Percy seems to be the ButtMonkey of this episode.
* The episode ends with the engines all being given the proper jobs, and Sir Topham Hatt congratulating Dowager Hatt and Emily for a job well done. Unfortunately, Philip is still in the mines, struggling to pull heavy slate trucks. Then the lights go out on him...
* One could see this episode as a TakeThat to the Sharon Miller era, which featured jobs that were just as odd (balloons, cakes, etc).

[[AC:P.A. Problems]]
* The Fat Controller's attempt to troubleshoot the new P.A. system ends rather poorly.
-->'''Stationmaster:''' [[HaveYouTriedRebooting Have you tried turning it off and on again, sir]]?
* As the Fat Controller fiddles with the controls, a workman behind him stiffles his own chuckling.
** The workmen at the scrapyard gets increasingly fed up with Reg's singing. One even straps a pair of trashcan lids to his head.

[[AC:Hasty Hannah]]
* This dialogue after Toby sends Henrietta to the Steamworks:
-->'''Thomas''': What's up with you, Toby?\\
'''Toby''': It's Henrietta. She's at the Steamworks and I'm missing her so much.\\
'''Thomas''': Oh. How long has she been there?\\
'''Toby''': About 20 minutes.
* The dialogue where Toby takes Hannah to the Steamworks and reunites with Henrietta...then Henrietta meets her sister.
-->'''Toby''': Henrietta...\\
'''Henrietta''': Toby...\\
'''Toby''': Henrietta...\\
'''Henrietta''': Toby...\\
'''Toby''': Henrietta...\\
'''Henrietta''': To-- Hannah?\\
'''Hannah''': Hello, Henrietta.

[[AC:Cranky at the End of the Line]]
* Cranky spends the entire episode overworking himself to prove to the Fat Controller that he's too useful to scrap. However, the Fat Controller gets the impression that Cranky is overworked and needs help, and purchases a second crane from the mainland to help him. Cue a bewildered Cranky trying to process this.
* One poor dock worker has the misfortune of being near Cranky's hook while he's trying to "prove himself", and ends up at Cranky's eye level.
* This dialogue where Salty tells Edward about Cranky working hard to avoid getting replaced.
-->'''Salty''': He thinks if he works twice as fast, the Fat Controller/Sir Topham Hatt won't replace him with a... [muttering] big new fancy crane.\\
'''Edward''': Replace him with a what?\\
'''Salty''': [whispering] A big new fancy crane.\\
'''Edward''': A big shoe zebra plane?\\
'''Salty''' No! A big new fancy crane!\\
'''Edward''': A pig stew dancing lane?!\\
'''Salty''': A BIG NEW FANCY CRANE!!!\\
'''Cranky''': Huh?\\
'''Edward''': Okay, okay. No need to shout.

[[AC:New Crane on the Dock]]
* Cranky and Carly trying to outdo each other with work. It becomes more ridiculous as it progresses, to the point where it devolves to them just ''spinning around like tornadoes''.
* The reveal that [[WesternAnimation/{{TUGS}} Big]] [[PropRecycling Mickey]] is sentient is played up as a shocking, dramatic reveal in the episode's last minute, with everyone gazing at him in awe...and his response is: "[[FlatWhat What?]]"
** Cranky's reaction to the above:
--->'''Cranky:''' [[SuddenlySpeaking So NOW you speak?]] You've been standing there silent all these years, Big Mickey, and you've never said a single word!\\
'''Big Mickey:''' [[HandWave Well you've never said a single word to me either.]]

[[AC:Emily in the Middle]]
* Donald and Douglas' arguing in general. They even argue from a far distance.
-->'''Douglas''': Cannae!\\
'''Donald''': Can!\\
'''Douglas''': Cannae!\\
'''Donald''': Can!
** There's this dialogue after Donald stops the train:
-->'''Donald''': I'm no' goin' any further!\\
'''Douglas''': You what?!\\
'''Donald''': I said, "[[PunctuatedForEmphasis I'm no'...goin'...any...further!]]"\\
'''Douglas''': You what?\\
'''Donald''': [Groans] Oh, brother!
* Toby wearing a snow beard like Santa Claus after crashing into the snow, then saying "Ho, ho, ho!". Then the driver brushes the snow off of Toby's face, leaving him with a snow goatee which he doesn't mind.
* This interaction between Gordon and Douglas:
-->'''Gordon''': Get out of my way! You're holding the express!\\
'''Douglas''': Alright. Cool your funnel, big man.\\
'''Gordon''': Ohhh, the indignity...

[[AC:Daisy's Perfect Christmas]]
* After Daisy tells Diesel, Den, and Dart about what Christmas is all about, Diesel says, "Wonderful" in a loving voice before trying to deny it to Den and Dart.
* The narrator says, "And then there was trouble." And it turns out the "trouble" was the Troublesome Trucks singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Everyone, except Daisy, thought it was funny.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 22]]

[[AC:Forever and Ever]]
* Gordon was already taken aback about Edward leaving Tidmouth Sheds. When he finds out Henry is now moving to Vicarstown Sheds, he lets out a hammy echoing BigWhat.
* The ensuing SarcasmMode tantrum Gordon has towards Sir Topham Hatt and the engines:
-->'''Gordon:''' Should I push coaches from now on, instead of pulling them, sir? (''shunts his coaches out of the station. Then 'Gordon shunts away Annie and Clarabel before Thomas can pull into them'') Come along, Annie and Clarabel. Let me take down Thomas' branch line for a change. Sir Topham Hatt is changing ''everything''!
-->'''Clarabel''': No, Gordon!
-->'''Annie''': What you are doing?
-->(''Gordon shunting trucks through the station, passing Nia'')
-->'''Gordon:''' You can take the Express, Nia. I'm going to shunt trucks in the yard. Sir Topham Hatt is going to change ''everything''! (''Gordon pulls up to the diesel fuel tank where Paxton is filling up.'') Hurry up, Paxton. I'm going to fill up with diesel oil for a change.
-->'''Paxton:''' [[SarcasmBlind Really? I thought steam engines filled up with steam.]]
* Later Gordon has a deranged ImagineSpot where the Fat Controller changes the whole railway into a DisneyAcidSequence, with rainbow-coloured tracks structured like a roller coaster and all the engines pulling all sorts of bizarre trains.

[[AC:An Engine of Many Colors]]
* James being painted blue in his first bad dream. Let that sink in for a moment.
** Just after freaking out, James states that nobody thinks blue engines are splendid. [[IResembleThatRemark Cue Thomas' annoyed eye roll.]]
** Then this gem from a little girl who saw James with the blue paint:
-->'''Little girl:''' Look, Daddy! Edward is going to be taking our train!
** Before that, the girl's father [[FunnyBackgroundEvent lost all the scoops of ice cream]] from his cone!
** While pulling the express, James notices the coaches sparkling blue and becoming less heavy. He then steals Gordon's usual catchphrase.
* In his second dream, James is painted green and remarks it as terrible, earning a glare from Percy.
** When James is pulling the goods train, the trucks ''magically float off the rails'', causing James to think that green paint makes engines stronger!
* James' third dream has him pulling the Duke of Boxford's train, and James has been painted silver. James immediately shows off, even pulling an aerobatic aileron roll when he jumps at the top of a hill!
** As the Duchess of Boxford, Rosie, and Thomas remind James that he will crash for showing off, Diesel shows up and maliciously "encourages" James to crash.
** Right after that, James avoids crashing into Philip, winds up on a turntable, and finds his paintwork being changed to brown, purple, yellow, green, and then orange, culminating in him screaming in utter horror and then waking up from his nightmare.

[[AC:School of Duck]]
* Daisy's complaint about taking the children.
-->'''Daisy''': Fun?! Crumbs on my lovely upholstery! Sticky fingers on my beautiful clean windows! And don't even mention my springs.
* This dialogue where Duck asks for Gordon for some coaches to take some children.
-->'''Duck:''' Uh, Gordon...\\
'''Gordon:''' No!\\
'''Duck:''' Right.

[[AC:Apology Impossible]]
* Philip's mouth.
* The "It's Not Me" cycle when Rebecca asks Paxton if he needs a little push.
-->'''Rebecca:''' Are you OK, Paxton? Do you need a little push?\\
'''Paxton:''' It's not me. It's Thomas.\\
'''Thomas:''' It's not me; it's Philip. \\
'''Philip:''' IT'S NOT ME! IT'S JAMES! So you need to say sorry... please?
** After that, James pushes everyone out of sight.
-->'''James:''' I DON'T MAKE MISTAKES! YOU'RE probably the one who made the mistake! Look at all the engines you're holding up...
* Philip's ImagineSpot where he, Thomas, James, Paxton, and Rebecca falling into the water after the bridge collapses underneath them. We have this gem in particular. Paxton states the obvious.
-->'''James:''' My paint!\\
'''Philip:''' My sardines!\\
'''Paxton:''' I fell in the water.

[[AC:Rosie is Red]]
* Diesel being LateToTheRealization to Bill and Ben's KissingInATree ditty about Thomas and Rosie.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 23]]
[[AC:Free The Roads]]
* Bulgy's ImagineSpot where he and Bertie are superheroes, saving the passengers from Percy. Considering that Percy is one of Sodor's nicest engines, it's so OutOfCharacter for him to be cast as a villain.

[[AC:Chucklesome Trucks]]
* Rebecca laughing along with the troublesome trucks' singing, which turned their rowdiness into confusion. Then when she tells them goodbye after shunting them, the trucks look on still in confusion.
-->'''Truck:''' What just happened?

[[AC:Heart Of Gold]]
* One of the snarky old men's zingers to Toby is hilarious just from how over-the-top nasty it is.
-->'''Man:''' Don't be silly. He can still be really useful.
-->''*Toby looks hopeful*''
-->'''Man:''' [[BaitAndSwitch For storing my golf clubs in.]] ''*laughs*''
-->''*Toby is deflated, cue ImagineSpot of him as a mini-golf attraction*''

[[AC:Gordon Gets The Giggles]]
* This gem from Gordon after he tries to control himself from laughing too much.
-->'''Gordon:''' Pull yourself together, Big G.
* Gordon's ImagineSpot after worrying he'll get demoted for looking like a silly engine:
-->'''The Fat Controller:''' ''*deathly serious*'' I'm afraid it'll only be ''silly'' jobs for you from now on.
-->''*puts a giant clown nose on Gordon's face, revealing Gordon has been converted into a circus train locomotive*''
* After the Fat Controller puts Gordon's worries away, an impatient passenger opens his coach door and asks the obvious:
-->'''Passenger:''' Can we go home now?
[[AC:Diesel Do Right]]
* Diesel's ImagineSpot [[HostileShowTakeOver wherein he and the other diesels]] [[VariationsOnAThemeSong spoof the intro to Season 22]].
-->''Den, Dart, Sidney, and Norman,''\\
''Paxton, and Philip, and Diesel, number one!''\\
''Let's go go go on a big world adventure,''\\
''Let's go go go have fun with Diesel and his friends,''\\
''Let's go go go and meet new friendly faces,''\\
''The world's just a train ride away,''\\
''Big world, big big adventures,''\\
''Diesel and Friends: Big World! Big Adventures!''
* Sidney [[CallBack once again makes up a song to help him remember his jobs]].
-->''Ha ha ha, hee hee hee,''\\
''[[SubvertedRhymeEveryOccasion Pick up the steel and take it to the docks]],''\\
''Then collect a flatbed of parts for Philip'',\\
''[[SomethingSomethingLeonardBernstein Something something something]] that rhymes with [[RhymingWithItself Philip]].''
* Diesel remarks when his plan failed at the end of the episode:
-->'''Diesel''': Not again, it's not fair. I can't do right even I haven't done anything wrong…\\
…well not much.

[[AC:Out of Site]]
* After Brenda clears away the first load of stone, Jack, Alfie, and Oliver try to deliver a second load of stone by themselves. Oliver wonders where Max and Monty are, as they were supposed to help him, Jack, and Alfie. Cut to Max and Monty struggling to drive through muddy terrain (as they didn't want to ruin Brenda's grounds a second time).
-->'''Monty''' (''after getting splashed with mud''): Some shortcut, Max! Next time I'll choose the route back!
* When Brenda accuses Max and Monty of dumping stone onto her grounds, she has an ImagineSpot where the dump truck twins dump stone everywhere. Highlights include Salty coming across a mountain of stone from under the sea (with the dump truck twins at the bottom of the sea), and Rebecca coming across a mountain of stone so enormous, it protrudes out into space and the Moon bounces off it.

[[AC:First Day on Sodor!]]
* When the other members of the Sodor Construction Company wonder what the new member will be like, they have an ImagineSpot where Miss Jenny unveils [[TerminatorImpersonator The Roadinator]], a robotic road-paving machine.
-->'''Roadinator''': I am The Roadinator. Come with me if you want to pave!

[[AC:Deep Trouble]]
* When Monty falls into a mining shaft after he and Max ignore Ms. Jenny's warnings not to cross the barrier, Max has an ImagineSpot where Monty continues falling through the Earth until [[DiggingToChina he ends up in Australia]] (complete with a cameo by Shane).

[[AC:Too Loud, Thomas!]]
* When Thomas tries to practice singing opera like Lorenzo and Beppe, his opera voice [[HollywoodToneDeaf is absolutely dreadful]]; it causes a little girl's balloon to pop, an old house to collapse, and even [[CameraAbuse the camera lens to break]]. For the latter two, you could say that Thomas' opera voice [[VisualPun brings down the house and breaks the fourth wall]].

[[AC:Steam Team to the Rescue]]
* With Salty and Porter out of action, Cranky, Carly, and Big Mickey are all backed up with cargo at Brendam Docks. Carly warns Big Mickey not to get the cargo mixed up, and an ImagineSpot happens where a passenger is served a cinder block in the dining car, Thomas is loaded with candles at the coal hopper (and one shoots out of his funnel), and some chickens run out of an express coach.
* As the repairmen fix the mechanism for the shed doors at the Dieselworks, the diesels are all excited when they see the doors go up... [[YankTheDogsChain only for the mechanism to malfunction and the doors to stop halfway]]. Sidney still cheers, but stops when he notices the other diesels glaring at him. Just afterwards, Paxton tries to get through the gap by charging at the door, [[ImpactSilhouette only to leave a Paxton-shaped imprint in it]].
* With the diesels still trapped in their sheds, Thomas tries to tell Sir Topham Hatt that Percy still needs his help at Brendam Docks, but Sir Topham Hatt insists that Thomas make a delivery to the Blue Mountain Quarry first. Thomas asks Sir Topham Hatt why he can't just send James to the quarry instead, and Sir Topham Hatt tells him that he already sent James to do another job. Cut to James at Farmer Trotter's farm, carrying a train of farm animals, and telling them to mind his paintwork. [[TemptingFate Just afterwards, a pig splashes him with mud]].
* At the end of the episode, Sir Topham Hatt congratulates the Steam Team for a job well done in clearing away the cargo at Brendam Docks and saving Percy and Carly. [[SomethingWeForgot He then wonders if he forgot something]]. Cut to the diesels, who are still trapped in their sheds, with nothing to do but listen to Sidney's whistling, then cut back to Sir Topham Hatt, who says, "No, all good!"
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Season 24]]
[[AC:The Royal Engine]]
* Gordon boasting he should be the chosen engine to take Sir Topham Hatt to London.
-->'''Gordon''': What I don't understand is why ''you'', Thomas, were chosen and not ''me''! I know the way to London, after all. I've even been there before!\\
'''Henry''': (''chuckles'') Oh, not the station names again, Gordon!\\
'''Gordon''': I just wish they'd make their minds up on what to call London station!

[[AC:Emily's Best Friend]]
* The episode's ImagineSpot is one most hilariously bizarre and cheesy of the lot, largely due to the bizarre AnthropomorphicShift. Emily imagines hanging out with her new best friend Edward, including making faces in a giant photo booth, (inexplicably) throwing snowballs at each other, and riding on a giant roundabout.

[[AC:Thomas' Not-So-Lucky Day]]
* When Thomas accidentally bumps into a freight train filled with bags of salt, Lorenzo and Beppe frantically suggest he do the old "throw over your shoulder" trick. Sadly, there's one teeny tiny little problem...
-->'''Thomas''': But I don't ''have'' shoulders!

[[AC:A New Arrival]]

[[AC:World of Tomorrow]]
* On the day of the technology fair, Dr. Hetty demonstrates her Mighty Magnet, but it gets itself stuck to Gordon and attracts anything metal to him, including Thomas' milk barrels, which spill milk onto his face. Needless to say, Gordon is not happy about this at all.
-->'''Gordon''': I would say "Oh, the indignity," but it seems a bit of an understatement.\\
[''A trashcan flies onto Gordon's nose just as he finishes saying that...'']\\
'''Dr. Hollyfield''': Sir Robert! Do you have anyone who could go to the dairy for me? I'm afraid Gordon's taken all my milk!\\
'''Gordon''': I DIDN'T TAKE IT, I ''GOT SPLATTERED'' BY IT!
* When Dr. Hollyfield asks for a volunteer to demonstrate his milkshake machine, Sir Topham Hatt gets way too excited. He runs up to the stage and pulls all the levers, causing the machine to squirt milkshake all over his clothes.
-->'''Ruth''': I don't think that was the milkshake Sir Topham had in mind.
* During the grand finale of the fair, Ruth shows off her flying car. Everyone is impressed with it, except for one elderly man.
-->'''Elderly Man:''' I've already got one of those!
[[AC:Thomas' Fuzzy Friend]]
* The titular dog, ahem, relieves himself on James' wheels. James is suitably put out while the others laugh and say that's normal dog behaviour.

[[AC:Sonny's Second Chance]]
* After Gordon expresses his doubts about Sonny, Thomas says to Gordon that everyone makes mistakes. Gordon replies with, "I don't!", causing Thomas and Percy look at each other, amused that Gordon is in denial.

!Mr. Awkright/Mr. Perkins segments
* "Mr. Perkins and the Parrot"
** At one point, Mr. Perkins steps away from his chair, and says that parrots are usually very naughty, but he then says Beaky hasn't been naughty at all... Then he goes back to his chair to find [[TemptingFate a big hole in one of his magazines]].
-->'''Mr. Perkins:''' ''Beaky''....
-->'''Beaky:''' ''(squawks)'' Yum yum.
* "Mr. Perkins' Fancy Costume"
** Every time Mr. Perkins answers the phone, he stumbles on the words "engine driver's common room" coinciding on what he's dressed as. We go from "engine driver's cowboy room" to "engine driver magic room" and finally, to "engine driver's custard pie room".
* "Mr. Perkins' Seaside"
** Mr. Perkins talking to a picture of Thomas on the wall.
-->'''Mr. Perkins''' I was just telling this picture of Thomas... telling this picture of Thomas indeed!
** The [[DeconstructedTrope deconstruction]] of how this plot usually works.
-->'''Mr. Perkins:''' And where is the best place on the island to relax? ''({{beat}})'' That's right! Knapford Sta- No! Not Knapford Station. Now, you're just being silly!
* "Mr. Perkins' Trainee"
** This the only segment so far to have a second actor, Archie (played by Gareth Cassidy). Let's just say their chemistry is legendary.
*** When Archie introduces himself as "Mr. Higginbottom", Mr. Perkins snaps at him saying that only engine drivers get to call themselves "Mr.". After complaining that it's not fair, he calls Mr. Perkins "[[EmbarrassingFirstName Gilbert]]" not a few second later.
*** When trying on engine driver outfits, Archie finds a whistle in one of the pockets. [[SensoryAbuse You can probably guess what happens next]].
*** Mr. Perkins tells Archie to chuff in a circle to practice railway signals. He says he feels silly, to which Mr. Perkins replies with "you don't ''look'' silly". Immediately followed by him turning to the viewers, and [[ImmediateSelfContradiction saying that he does indeed look silly]]. Archie even calls him out on it. Mr. Perkins' response? "[[BadLiar Nothing, nothing]]".
*** When Archie runs a red signal, Mr. Perkins chases him, telling him to stop. Then they both crash into each other.
*** Next, Mr. Perkins teaches Archie how to read a map. First Archie doesn't unroll the map at all, mistaking it for a big white hill. Then he looks at the map from the wrong side, mistaking it for a big frozen lake. Finally, he holds the map upside down, misreading "China Clayworks" as "Skrowyalc anihc".
*** The final scene has Archie answering a phone call from The Fat Controller, much to Mr. Perkins' dismay. What happens next? [[AchievementsInIgnorance He goes through the call flawlessly]]. Even going so far as to mention TruthInFiction details about Edward's driving axels and connecting rods.
* "Mr. Perkins' Sleepover"
** One of Mr. Perkins' attempts to fall asleep is reading a story titled "The Little Engine's Big Day". It's a SelfParody, and is even {{lampshaded}} at points. It even goes so far as to include the infamous "[[MagicFranchiseWord luckily no one was hurt]]" line.
!Mr. Perkins' Storytime
* Mr. Perkins {{lampshad|ed}}ing the jam that falls on Percy in [[Recap/ThomasTheTankEngineS3E1AScarfForPercy A Scarf for Percy]].
-->'''Mr. Perkins:''' Jam? Where did jam come from?! Maybe Lady Hatt packed a picnic, in case they got hungry.

[[folder:Other]]

--->'''Edward''': I'm ready!\\

-->'''Thomas:''' Come along! Come along!\\

-->'''Driver''': You're a very naughty engine!\\

-->'''Guard''': The Kipper is due.\\

-->'''Gordon''': I won't go! I won't go!\\
'''Edward:''' Don't be silly! Don't be silly!
* There's the song some boys sing to insult Gordon.
-->''Silly old Gordon fell in a ditch,\\
Fell in a ditch, fell in a ditch.\\
Silly old Gordon fell in a ditch\\
All on a Monday morning.''

[[AC:Down the Mine]]
* Thomas teasing Gordon for smelling like ditchwater.
-->'''Thomas''': Phew! What a funny smell!\\

* Edward's fireman's singing in the beginning.

-->'''Percy''': Do you know what?\\
'''Gordon''': What?\\
'''Percy''': Do you know what?\\
''({{beat}})''\\

-->'''Gordon:''' Disgraceful!\\

-->'''Barber:''' It's only an engine.

[[AC:Break Van / Donald And Douglas]]
* The fight with Donald and the brake van, where the former goes into ViolentGlaswegian mode and bumps the latter hard in order to stand up for Douglas.
-->'''Donald:''' Ye're a muckle nuisance! It's to leave you behind I'd be wantin'!\\

-->'''Percy:''' [[OhCrap Me?!]] I can't!\\

-->'''Percy:''' My funnel's cold! My funnel's cold! I want a scarf! I want a scarf!\\

-->"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

-->'''Harold''': Wakey, wakey!\\

-->'''Gordon:''' I'm not happy.\\

-->'''Driver:''' Rotten roads...

* This exchange:
-->'''George:''' Bumpy ride on rotten rails! I'm glad it's over!\\
'''Percy:''' So am I!\\
'''George:''' Ha!
* When Gordon is travelling fast with the express, unaware that a truck[[note]](freight car in the US version)[[/note]] is fouling the main line due to George harrassing Duck, we get this:
-->'''Gordon:''' I'm the greatest! [[TemptingFate Just watch me fly by]]!\\
'''Narrator:''' Suddenly, he saw a truck on the line ahead.\\
'''Gordon:''' [[OhCrap GET OUT OF MY WAY]]!!\\
'''Narrator:''' But the truck wouldn't move...\\
''(Gordon sends the truck flying, landing on the ground with a crash. Cut to a shocked Duck.)''\\
'''Narrator:''' ...until Gordon forced it...\\
''(Cut back to the destroyed truck.)''\\
'''Narrator:''' ...by accident.
** George's lines after blocking Duck.
--->'''Duck''': Let me through!\\
'''George''': You'll just have to wait!\\

-->'''Bill:''' That's my line of trucks/cars!\\

-->'''Child #1:''' Look, they've caught all this fish, and a green whale!\\

-->'''Percy''': What's that?\\
'''Sir Topham Hatt''': It's a new invention.

* This gem.

-->'''Gordon''': [[GilliganCut Definitely a coloratura]]!

[[AC:Thomas the Jet Engine]]
* Cranky's reaction after accidentally starting the jet engine with his hook.
-->'''Cranky:''' [[OhCrap Uh-oh]]...

* This exchange:
-->'''Thomas''': Hurry up! I'm a busy engine!\\
'''Fisherman''': And a fussy one too! Just enjoy the fresh salty smell of the fish!
[[AC: The Grand Opening]]
* Lady Hatt's reaction when the hot air balloon's burner suddenly runs out of fuel.
-->'''Lady Hatt''': I want to get off!\\
'''The Fat Controller''': Not now, dear.

-->'''Emily''': She won't do a thing I tell her!\\
'''Thomas''': That's because you're a big bossy boiler.

-->'''Edward''': I don't need saving!\\

-->'''Annie:''' I don't like this at all!\\
'''Clarabel:''' I've got my eyes closed!\\

-->'''Diesel:''' There's no such thing as ghosts!\\

--->'''James''': Heeere's--\\

-->'''Thomas:''' Sitting in your shed?
-->'''Daisy:''' ''*flatly*'' No.
-->'''Thomas:''' Working at the waste dump? Taking monkeys to the animal park? Ooh! I know! [[TakeThat Going to Misty Island?]]
-->'''Daisy:''' [[NoJustNoReaction NO!]]
** Daisy then boasts about her job to Duck and Oliver in a rather glamorized language. The two more or less do the equivalent of smiling and nodding.
-->'''Duck:''' That engine....I have no idea what she just said to me.
-->'''Oliver:''' Me neither.

-->'''Edward''': Heeeere's Edward!

[[AC:Buckled Tracks and Bumpy Trucks]]
* The Fat Controller's mother shows up just to give him a pith helmet, as she knows that the controller's black top hat will make him sweat more. How does our controller react to the people in the station chuckling at his expense?
-->'''Fat Controller''': Oh, the indignity.\\

-->'''Mike''': If engines can't whistle properly, they shouldn't try.\\

-->'''Victor''': That's our Kevin.

[[/folder]]

-->'''Thomas''': What's up with you, Toby?\\
-->'''Toby''': Henrietta...\\

-->'''Douglas''': Cannae!\\
'''Donald''': Can!\\
'''Douglas''': Cannae!\\
'''Donald''': Can!
** There's this dialogue after Donald stops the train:
-->'''Donald''': I'm no' goin' any further!\\

-->'''Clarabel''': No, Gordon!
-->'''Annie''': What you are doing?

-->'''Duck:''' Uh, Gordon...\\
'''Gordon:''' No!\\
'''Duck:''' Right.

[[AC:Apology Impossible]]
* Philip's mouth.
-->'''James:''' My paint!\\

-->'''Truck:''' What just happened?

[[AC:Heart Of Gold]]
* One of the snarky old men's zingers to Toby is hilarious just from how over-the-top nasty it is.
-->'''Man:''' Don't be silly. He can still be really useful.
-->''*Toby looks hopeful*''

-->''Den, Dart, Sidney, and Norman,''\\
-->'''Diesel''': Not again, it's not fair. I can't do right even I haven't done anything wrong…\\

-->'''Thomas''': But I don't ''have'' shoulders!

-->'''Mr. Perkins:''' ''Beaky''....
-->'''Beaky:''' ''(squawks)'' Yum yum.
* "Mr. Perkins' Fancy Costume"
** Every time Mr. Perkins answers the phone, he stumbles on the words "engine driver's common room" coinciding on what he's dressed as. We go from "engine driver's cowboy room" to "engine driver magic room" and finally, to "engine driver's custard pie room".
* "Mr. Perkins' Seaside"
* "Mr. Perkins' Trainee"
* "Mr. Perkins' Sleepover"
* Mr. Perkins states that [[Recap/ThomasTheTankEngineS1E1ThomasAndGordon Thomas & Gordon]] [[MythologyGag was the first story about Thomas he had ever heard]]. He speaks for all of us, doesn't he?
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Other]]
* Right behind the Troublesome Trucks ride in Drayton Manor Thomas Land is a sleeping model of James. There's even a sign near him that says "Quiet Please. Tired engine resting.", which is made even more funnier by [[{{Irony}} the screams of park customers that pass by every single minute]].
* [[http://i-eat-your-pancakes.tumblr.com/post/142431809780/one-of-the-many-things-i-love-about-spencer-is This Tumblr post about Spencer]].
