* In "Reality Bites," Nicky yells at Will when he fights his favorite cartoon character. Will tries to explain it was just a guy in a suit but Nicky doesn't believe him. Ashley tells Will he shouldn't ruin Nicky's beliefs. She brings up how Will loved ''Film/Shaft'' and "how you felt when you found out Shaft wasn't real?" Will just stares at her in confusion and Ashley realizes Will believes Shaft ''was'' real.

** In Phil's version, Will and Carlton are thuggish, and everyone is wearing revealing swimsuits, including the 15-year-old neighbor girl who wandered over. Phil himself is just a meek, quiet man who accidentally steps on Carlton's inflatable duckie inner tube. Carlton's line right after that: "HEY POPS! YOU POPPED MAH DUCK!"

** In Will and Carlton's version, the pool party is a classy, innocent affair where everyone is in OldTimeyBathingSuits and they dance in a circle holding hands. As Phil enters, a [[BadVibrations glass of water shakes]] a la ''Film/JurassicPark'' and he ''rips the head off'' of Carlton's duckie inner tube. He also yells at the fully-clothed 15-year-old neighbor girl who "wandered over, crying" as Will says. ("Hit the bricks, you little tramp!")

** Earlier in the same episode, Will is about to leave his post behind the counter at the Peacock when the guy who turns out to be his philosophy professor comes up to him.
