Natter.
** Bit of FridgeBrilliance kicks in when you realize that Tom's job is to explain things to clientele in terms they would understand. He can't even explain his job to the Bobs in terms they understand. So while his position may not be useless, ''he'' is. Or he could just be flustered from discovering [[ProperlyParanoid all his fears were correct]]. *** It's not that Tom's bad at his job, it's that the Bobs are bad at theirs. They should be asking him how well he does his job, not making the proposal that engineers could do it, instead. Since this would kill productivity further (the engineers would have to stop fixing code to listen to complaints about the code they need to fix), Tom's not just upset his job's on the line, he's [[EnragedByIdiocy frustrated that the Bobs have no idea what they're doing, but still have the authority to lay him off.]]

--> '''Judge''': In light of the senselessness of these heinous crimes that you have committed against Initech, I hereby sentence you, Michael Bolton, and Samir Naan... Nanadajibad... to a term of no less than four years in a federal "pound me in the ass" prison. Peter Gibbons, you've led a trite and meaningless life, and you're a very ''bad'' person.

--> '''Bob''': What would you say you ''do'' here?\\ '''Tom''': Well, look, I already told you. I deal with the goddamn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills. I am ''good'' at dealing with people! Can't you understand that?! What the hell is wrong with you people?!
