* In the original manga, Harlock asking if ''the mechanism to make the flag fly as if they were in an atmosphere'' is working.
* Another manga bit, Yattaran misheard Kei and thought she was calling him a pig (she was insulting the people of earth) and sulked - Harlock went to ask how their mission went, only for Yattaran to yell at him about being a dumb lazy pig, leaving Harlock absolutely bewildered.
* In ''Cosmo Warrior Zero'', [[SeriousBusiness the importance of booze]]: the people of Gun Frontier wanted to ''lynch'' Tochiro for accidentally destroying their supply and being unable to pay for them, only stopping when Harlock showed up ready to kill them all for their attack on his best friend... Then when he's about to murder them all one mentions their reasons and Harlock ''apologizes'', as they were obviously in the right, and gives them his own supply.
** And Tochiro accidentally destroy the bar was because of Zero's crew being chased by a giant [[MixAndMatchCritter cross between a holstein cow and a t-rex]] into town, and then he remembered he had a bazooka, he didn't need to run.
** Then later, when Harlock went to retrieve Tochiro (after the latter accidentally pissed Emeraldas off by talking about Sylvania's legs), and Tochiro warns him off of a trap. Zero then rushes in from seemingly out of nowhere to punch one of his subordinates for using such an underhanded method, and it cuts to Harlock and Tochiro staring at the whole scene in sheer bafflement and wondering if they should leave.
* At the start of ''Cosmo Warrior Zero'', Zero bravely faces Harlock with an outdated and rickety light cruiser, and gives the impression he could have at least given him a run for his money had the ship not broken down under him. Later, after he made his report, he's told it was Harlock... And he quickly descends into ParrotExposition at the horror of having faced Harlock with a barely spaceworthy ship.
* In the original series, Harlock finds Shizuka, a Mazone Spy pretending to be a fugitive government official passed out on the shower floor of the arcadia. She attempts to seduce him and at first, it looks like he's taken her bait as he picks up with his cape and carries her, making it look like he's gonna bring her back to his quarter with the crew starring at him in confusion....Only to then enter the infirmary and literally throws her straight on top of the Doc, gives a smile and walks off, leaving her lying there confused.
* The scene after this is just as funny and awesome. Shizuka attempts to return his cape and try to get some dirt on his motives, only for Harlock to straight up admit he's a DeathSeeker and the whole reason for fighting the Mazone is because of this. Afterward, he proceeds to hint that he knows her boss, Queen Reflessia is listening in on em by mockingly pitying her and asking Shizuka a hypothetically what Reflessia's expression would if she heard the whole conversation, after which he walks off laughing from the question.
