** This could also be part of the reason Linkara was swapped with Mechakara. Not only does it a) allow him to act as TheMole and b) take comicron-1 and the Arsenal of Freedom out of the equation, but it also neutralizes a known [[Franchise/StarTrek trekkie]] / [[Franchise/DoctorWho whovian]], further diminishing the crews {{GenreSavvy}}-ness.

** The movie subtly shows another reason the other's don't notice this behavior; after pooling all their info, they realize that the Plot Hole could [[CosmicRetcon re-write existence in countless strange and surreal ways, and they would never notice]]. They probably brushed off 'Linkara's' strange behavior as a result of this.

* Prior to the release of ''WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee'', the Nostalgia Critic was involved in a lot of crossovers. Now, with the knowledge that [[spoiler:Doug was retiring the character after this movie]], take another look at some of the reviews & who the crossover was with - ''WesternAnimation/HeavyMetal'' with DiamandaHagan; Count Chocula with the Maven of the Eventide, ''[[Anime/DigimonAdventure Digi]][[Anime/DigimonAdventure02 mon]]: TheMovie'' with JesuOtaku; and ''Film/TheWiz'' with WebVideo/ToddInTheShadows. They were all reviewers that Doug had never worked with[[note]]Whilst Todd & the Critic were both in ''WebVideo/SuburbanKnights'', they never interacted[[/note]] before, be it in a crossover or an anniversary special - [[spoiler:he was giving everyone a chance to get a crossover with the character before he hung up the tie]]. Like the [[Series/DoctorWho Tenth Doctor]], he was [[spoiler:saying good-bye in his own way]].

* When Luke is learning the ways of The Plot at Oancitizen's hands, it's done in the same way as John Murdoch's training in ''Film/DarkCity''. ''Dark City'' came out in 1998, the same ere as films such as ''ThePhantomMenace'', ''Film/LostInSpace'' and later ''Film/TheMatrix'', all films which were derivative of other works (One a TV adaptation, the other a prequel of an existing trilogy, and many would argue that ''TheMatrix'' is largely derived from ''GhostInTheShell'', as possibly lampshaded by Marz Gurl's costume.) ''Dark City'' was critically acclaimed, and an original and creative piece, unlike the other (arguably) derivative films. Not only would this explain why Oancitizen would use its methodology, as it appeals to his High Brow sensibility, but it also explains why it would be the light side of The Plot - as opposed to the profit-driven machinations of the dark side.

* In the commentary for the Nostalgia Critic's ''TheGarbagePailKidsMovie'' review, Doug and Rob said that the final scene of the review was originally planned to be the end of the Nostalgia Critic. If you look at that ending and compare it to the ''To Boldly Flee'' ending, [[spoiler:they're almost mirror images of each other[[note]]Both endings involve being warped to a normal looking yet surreal world, a conversation with people who look just like him, and a transformation that takes him across the stars[[/note]], the difference being that he met a, for lack of a better word, [[IncrediblyLamePun crappy]] end induced by an incredibly horrible movie, while his end in ''To Boldly Flee'' was of his own choice, saving everyone while finally finding peace.]]

* Remember that the story arc in progress on ''WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall'' is confirmed to be set after ''ToBoldlyFlee'' ends and deals with the idea that [[spoiler:Linkara is slowly undergoing a FaceHeelTurn]]?
