* Perhaps an [[AccidentallyAccurate unintentional]] example due to its tangential nature (with a side order of FridgeBrilliance to boot), but at the end of his WesternAnimation/{{Balto}} review, Aunt Despair tells her niece that [[spoiler: her parents died of "double-erotic asphyxiation"]]. Seems like just another round of typical NC BlackComedy, right? But consider the movie he reviewed. The sequel, ''Balto II: Wolf Quest'' featured a major character voiced by Creator/DavidCarradine. [[spoiler: Remember how ''he'' died?]]

* Cliff and Melody apparently blackmailed a celebrity into being in ''Film/{{Monkeybone}},'' the same thing their oldest sister Hyper did to get money out of Joe Dante. They either picked it up from her, or they all picked it up from their morally bankrupt parents.

* Current reviews often have scenes reenacted on a much lower budget by the Nostalgia Crew. [[WebVideo/DemoReel I wonder why that sounds familiar...]]

* In the ''Stephen King's IT'' review, when Dr. Smith recognizes that the Critic has been playing the Stephen King Drinking Game, he comments that "that's been known to kill people". This seems odd at first glance, since the Critic mentions in the beginning of the review that he ''just made up'' the Drinking Game in question, so how could it have killed people before? Except Dr. Smith is from the ''future''. Presumably, the Game caught on (possibly thanks to the Critic's video itself gaining popularity), enough that it's still popular (and dreaded) in the far-away future of Dr Smith.

* He has an electroshock therapy machine. According to TheOtherWiki, "ECT is most often recommended for use as a treatment for [[HeroicBSOD severe depression]] that has not responded to other treatment, and is also used in the treatment of [[MoodSwinger mania]] and [[EmptyShell catatonia]]", all of which he's shown signs of.

* Critic questions anybody who doesn't consider killing themselves while watching ''We Wish You A Turtle Christmas.'' Yet at the end of the review, he recommends it to his audience anyway.

* At first, Critic handing Aunt Despair's daughter over to Chester in the Balto review seems to be another example of him being an asshole. But if one were to think about it, Critic made the right call. Would Bum Jr. ''really'' be better off living with a man who's constantly dealing with utter madness and having to fend for his life by people who are crazy and/or raging assholes? At least Chester and Doe are loving people who'll no doubt do their best to make sure Bum Jr. is happy.

** Likewise, the release date for ''Film/ThePhantomOfTheOpera2004'' review (March 22) is Creator/AndrewLloydWebber's birthday.
* By the ''Cinderella'' review, Hyper was much more stable and better at taking criticism of the things she liked. Yet she threatened to kill herself when Todd in the Shadows told her "Hold On" by Good Charlotte (which saved her from suicide, also why she's more defensive of it) sucked? ''Old Vs New: Evil Dead'' came out only a few weeks later- it's likely she and Devil Boner had started fighting by then and it messed with her stability.

* Hyper says in her Q&A that she was born in 1991, yet in ''Old Vs New Spider-Man'' the FreezeFrameBonus of her Facebook lists her birth year as 1984. Likely just a {{retcon}} or something they forgot to edit out of the base for the Facebook, but there are some potentially disturbing explanations: as mentioned above, Hyper smiles at the idea of way older men being creepily attracted to her, so why wouldn't she age herself up on her Facebook in order to get more attention? Not to mention it would appear to greatly lessen the age gap between her and Critic.
