* FridgeBrilliance: How did [[spoiler:the Mane Five]] know where to send Mare Do Well and [[spoiler:who had to play her? Pinkie Sense! Also, Twilight's teleporting.]]
** It seems [[spoiler:the mane five]] deliberately planned to lead Dash into a secluded alley before making the reveal. That way, [[spoiler:Dash wouldn't be utterly humiliated in front of the whole town.]]
*** More evidence for this during the dam scene: rather than pull Rainbow Dash out by dangling her helplessly in mid-air with magic (which would have been really embarrassing) Mare Do Well just puts a tree in her way so that Dash can pull ''herself'' out. Humiliating Rainbow Dash doesn't seem to be part of the plan.
** It also may be the case that [[spoiler:not only the Mane five but some and/or most of the rest of the town was in on this intervention, planning the various "disasters" with Mare Do Well being there to resolve anything that Rainbow couldn't. Even if the town wasn't, it is still likely that the Mane five engineered the events (hopefully warning the construction team ahead of time!) to maximize the effectiveness of Mare Do Well's abilities above Rainbow's.]]
** If you look closely, you'll notice that nopony is actually laughing at Rainbow Dash ''or'' shunning her! Like her friends in previous episodes, she's just convinced herself that the situation is worse than it is.
** It makes perfect sense that Rainbow Dash would turn into such a show-off: after all, all the skills she uses to save ponies are the ones she learned in order to ''put on a show!'' And in an air show you know you're doing well if ponies are cheering for you. If they aren't, you must not be showy enough, so you have to do something to make them cheer quickly, or your career might soon be over. Rainbow's just taking what she knows and applying it to being a hero.
** A lot of people are upset with Scootaloo for her role in the episode, but remember [[Recap/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS1E4ApplebuckSeason Applebuck Season]]? Rainbow Dash was perfectly content to attend a party declaring somepony else to be the most reliable friend in Ponyville without feeling like the town was calling her a worse friend in comparison. Scootaloo had no reason to assume Rainbow Dash would feel differently about this parade, especially since the 'who's the better hero' competition was all in Dash's head.
* FridgeHorror: Had the Mare Do Well not shown up, it's very likely that Rainbow Dash's showboating would've gotten somepony killed. This is especially true in the construction site accident or the dam burst.
** Rainbow does relatively little showboating at the construction site. She does try to say her catchphrase a few times and keeps getting interrupted by falling debris, but she'd kind of have to be dodging that anyway. Nothing at the construction site was her fault, though for some reason the scene's shot as if she were to blame for, among other things, the building collapsing.
** One fan comic pointed out that there may be more than a few brokenhearted little ponies who'd started to hero-worship Mare Do Well only to find out the hero was just a trick some ponies were playing on their boastful friend. Mare Do Well is shown to be even more popular than Dash at the height of her popularity, this ''had'' to have happened in at least a couple of cases.
** And that's assuming they ''do'' reveal themselves. Just imagine how much trouble Rainbow Dash is going to be in when it looks like she chased off Ponyville's greatest hero...
** Where the ''[[NoOSHACompliance HELL]]'' was the Pony equivalent of OSHA? Seriously, so many disasters, so many crumbling/damaged structures, why has the town not been condemned yet? Couple this with the obviously crumbling city hall in "The Last Roundup," and Ponyville really starts to look ramshackle and unsafe. How many ponies have been hurt or killed due to structural damage?
* FridgeLogic: [[spoiler:Now that Rainbow has learned her lesson, will Twilight, Pinkie and AJ stop helping the citizens of Ponyville? It's been proven that the three of them working in tandem are more effective at superheroing than Rainbow Dash alone. Will they suffer guilty consciences now whenever they hear of accidents that they could have prevented?]]
** [[spoiler:They all seem happy to help whenever they're around anyway. Hopefully the mysterious wave of freak accidents will just peter out on its own.]]
** [[spoiler:Although they may stop playing Mare Do Well, that doesn't mean they won't help out where they can anymore. They just won't do it in costume.]]
** [[spoiler:There is still a difference between "looking for problems to fix" and "helping out when you can." Most of the mane six have full-time jobs, so they definitely won't be helping ''as much as they can.'' Obviously this is a SugarBowl so they won't be delving into the ethics of ignoring the call to heroism, but it's going to bother me a little bit.]]
** [[spoiler:Plus, Dash's hubris was clearly getting in the way of her hero work; if she weren't distracted by signing autographs and shouting catchphrases, she might have been able to save all of those ponies on her own. Now that she's learned her lesson about priorities, maybe Ponyville won't need Mare Do Well anymore.]]
** On a slightly different topic, [[spoiler:no one mentions which Mare Do Well was the one that rescued the pony in the falling balloon, though we know it isn't Twilight since she's in the crowd immediately after the rescue.]]
