** [[NightmareRetardant On the other hand]], Balrog is a known international criminal and [[spoiler:was the one who turned the fight into life or death when he punched the ref out when annoyed (which there's some implication ''killed'' said ref)]]. TJ Combo has a pretty good self-defense plea going.

** When you look at it from that perspective, the deck is stacked against TJ. Balrog is no stranger to crippling injuries and killed one unlucky opponent by accident even before he joined up with Shadaloo, but TJ is genuinely repentant for his past misdeeds and wants to turn his life around. The criminal underworld likely has a place for Balrog in case of a career-ending scandal, but there's no way Ultratech would be so accepting of TJ after he refused to take the fall for them.

* A preview picture of Balrog vs. TJ Combo showed both men fighting in what appeared to be a big pay-per-view style event. Seems like flashy presentation, right? Not until you realize that the rules of Death Battle dictate that this isn't going to end like an actual boxing match. Considering Balrog's penchant for illegal moves, TJ's repertoire including moves that aren't sanctioned like throws and kicks, and the fact that one of these two are going to ''die'' on a global broadcast, the repercussions of said fight for the winner may make their victory [[PyrrhicVictory very hollow]].

** [[spoiler: Considering Goku was killed by Superman, the Z Warriors may already be in their own little war against the Justice League, meaning that should the Avengers attack Android 18, the Z Warriors will be facing two very powerful teams from two different sides; one of which has ''[[PhysicalGod Superman]]''.]].

* Even if one considers Sonic's statement in ''VideoGame/SonicColors'' about being [[FasterThanLightTravel faster than light]] not to be hyperbole (or the preceding statement from Omega that implied he at least had the potential for it), [[ShownTheirWork both of which were shown in the rundown]], it wouldn't mean much for Metal Sonic since he was built during the Classic era with only a younger Sonic in mind.

** Speaking of Supes, Goku vs Superman 2 showed that he used the Dragon Balls to wish the planet back after the first fight, reviving Goku in the process. This could double as an explanation for the re-introduction of other characters that previously died in Death Battle.

* Why did Lucario [[spoiler:[[DeliberateInjuryGambit charge right into Renamon's Diamond Storm]] to perform his attack]]? Earlier on, the Digimon used that move against it and it was easily deflected by a Bone Rush bone. From the ease of deflection, Lucario found out that the force behind the attack was nothing to fear (especially due to being a Steel-type, which the presumably Grass-typed attack would be less effective against), and could afford to take a few hits.
