* What's more, how will their loved ones think when they realize their most famous idols just killed the planet, along with everyone they ever cared about, over a petty fight? What was going in their lives when the Earth exploded?

* A preview picture of Balrog vs. TJ Combo showed both men fighting in what appeared to be a big pay-per-view style event. Seems like flashy presentation, right? Not until you realize that the rules of Death Battle dictate that this isn't going to end like an actual boxing match. Considering Balrog's penchant for illegal moves, TJ's repertoire including moves that aren't sanctioned like throws and kicks, and the fact that one of these two are going to ''die'' on a global broadcast, the repercussions of said fight for the winner may make their victory [[PyrrhicVictory very hollow]].
** When you look at it from that perspective, the deck is stacked against TJ. Balrog is no stranger to crippling injuries and killed one unlucky opponent by accident even before he joined up with Shadaloo, but TJ is genuinely repentant for his past misdeeds and wants to turn his life around. The criminal underworld likely has a place for Balrog in case of a career-ending scandal, but there's no way Ultratech would be so accepting of TJ after he refused to take the fall for them.
** [[NightmareRetardant On the other hand]], [[spoiler: Balrog is a known international criminal and was the one who turned the fight into life or death when he punched the ref out when annoyed (which there's some implication ''killed'' said ref). TJ Combo has a pretty good self-defense plea going, especially given Balrog has a history for killing opponents in the ring.]]

* A TJ Combo's reputation might be in ruins yet again after he killed Balrog on live television.

** To elaborate on one of the above: Ken vs Terry is yet another battle with equally horrible outcomes. [[spoiler: If Ken had won, then Terry would have suffered the same fate as his father, leaving Andy with no family left, costing Mary yet another close friend, and depriving young Rock of the closest thing he has to a parental figure. With Terry winning, then Ken's wife and son are be left to grieve, and Gouken having lost both of his students. No matter who had taken victory, a lot of people lost someone very close to them.]]
*** Worse than that, [[spoiler: Akuma won his battle. With both Ryu and Ken dead, the only hero left in the Street Fighter universe with any chance of stopping him is Gouken.]]

** To elaborate: the aftermath of ''Zoro vs Erza'' is yet another that will lead to something bad. [[spoiler: Zoro's victory over Erza will most likely cause Team Natsu (if not the whole Fairy Tail guild) to take up arms against the Strawhats. Much like in the aftermath of ''Tracer VS Scout'', two groups who see each other as family will clash, and the battle will leave several members on both sides dead.]]
*** Scarier still is what will likely happen to the vengeful party in this scenario. [[spoiler: Without [[TheAce Gildarts]], it is likely that Fairy Tail would be marching to their deaths since, on top of the Strawhats already being a BadassCrew by themselves, there's still the matter of the [[BadassArmy Straw Hat Grand Fleet]], whose sheer numbers and power would turn the fight between the two groups into a complete bloodbath, ''especially'' taking into account that one of the guild's members (Juvia) wields powers that are more likely get someone on her side killed in the One Piece world than anything else.]]
*** It gets worse. [[spoiler: With Ace's death by Natsu's hands, Fairy Tail will also have to deal with the Whitebeard Pirates, who will be out for blood. And given that Ace was Sabo's sworn brother, the Revolutionary Army is likely join in as well.]]
*** However, that's only IF they manage to find out what even HAPPENED to [[spoiler: Ace. Keep in mind, Natsu completely disintegrated him without a trace aside from his necklace, which may have been burned up in the resulting fires anyway. So as far as they'll be concerned, Ace just disappeared, with no true way of knowing just what happened to him.]]

* Venom vs Bane shows that [[spoiler: Venom is lurking around Gotham City and is hunting for brains. He beat Bane so what chance does Batman have? Combine this with the potential aftermath of the aforementioned Joker vs Sweet Tooth and it seems Gotham City is quickly becoming much more of a hellhole than it already is]].
** [[spoiler:Considering Venom is an anti-hero and only goes after criminals, Gotham City might actually become less of a hellhole but originally Eddie did not willingly eat a person's brains to keep the symbiote healthy and instead ate chocolate. What happened to this version of Eddie to make him become a cannibal?.]]

** [[spoiler: Considering Goku was killed by Superman, the Z Warriors may already be in their own little war against the Justice League, meaning that should the Avengers attack Android 18, the Z Warriors will be facing two very powerful teams from two different sides; one of which has ''[[PhysicalGod Superman]]''.]].

It's sad enough for US to lose our beloved characters to Death Battle... But some of the battles could have VERY tragic aftermaths:

** To elaborate on Quicksilver: regardless of who won Flash vs. Quicksilver, the winner would have made some VERY powerful enemies. If Quicksilver lost [[spoiler: which he did]], Flash would draw the ire of super powerful opponents like his sister, the Scarlet Witch, and Magneto. If the Flash lost [[spoiler: which he didn't]], Quicksilver would have gotten some less than favourable attention from the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman. [[spoiler: And while the Flash should be able to handle himself against any possible retribution from Quicksilver's family and allies, many of them, especially the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, would NOT be opposed to collateral damage in order to draw him out.]]
*** And then there's the fact that there's a good chance that, because of how much [[TheHeart The Flash is to the team]], his death could have led to the creation of the [[KnightTemplar Justice Lords]].

* Hulk vs. Doomsday. Even if the former defeats the latter, Doomsday can be resurrected, and his AdaptiveAbility means that the method used to kill him will not work again.
** [[spoiler:Doomsday won, meaning there's a monster rampaging through the city, going to take more lives, and one of the Avengers's strongest members just died a horrific death.]]

* Shredder VS Silver Samurai: [[spoiler: The fight ends with Shredder killing the Silver Samurai. Now this may not have any negative consequences considering Harada is already canonically dead. The fridge horror comes in when you realize that 76 episodes ago, Leonardo killed his brothers in a battle royale and Shredder a man who has [[ImplacableMan consistently been able to take on all four turtles]] is in his SuperForm and will likely be gunning for the turtles and Splinter next. With three of the four turtles down, things don't look good for Leo.]]

** That's not the only unpleasant consequence of Yang vs. Tifa. [[spoiler:Yang may have beaten Tifa, but she will be in '''''deep''''' shit afterwards. Keep in mind, the fight started when Yang punched a bouncer through a door, with the terrified customers having to witness the event. At least a few of them will likely spread the word of what happened and call the police on Yang. What's more, Yang killed Tifa and trashed the whole bar, giving more evidence of what happened, and if anyone sees Yang walk out of the bar...she's doomed to go to court.]]
