** The Invasion of Meridell game. Broken by a bug and no developer bothered to fix it or knew how it worked. It was incredibly fun for some as well.

* GameBreakingBug: The Invasion of Meridell was an interesting HTML game that was removed from the site due to a bug. Literally it broke that game.

* MyRulesAreNotYourRules: The single-player Battledome opponents can use all their abilities whenever they want, ignoring use limits and cooldowns. They can also use multiple healing, freezing or stealing items despite human players being limited to one of each.

* AllegedlyFreeGame: Neocash, the site's biggest BaseBreaker. To some Neopet owners, it's a waste of money and a prime example of extortion. To others, their closets are absolutely ''stuffed'' with clothes.

** This is especially jarring if you do this once-a-day activity daily. Your pet saves you so many times in there that you'll [[StopHelpingMe almost wish for it to stop saving you]].

*** There's also overriding that sickness with another sickness that has a cheaper medicine, usually by feeding your pet some Poisonous Jelly.

* ChekhovsBoomerang: Two of them: The Darkest Faerie was turned to stone after being defeated in the PS2 game, and [[spoiler:the Faeries as a whole are restored from being turned to stone]] in the Faeries' Ruin years later. The two collide and come back in the Faeries' Ruin epilogue (about a month after the latter) when it's implied that [[spoiler:the Darkest Faerie was restored along with everyone else]].
* ChekhovsSkill: Everything you learn to do in the early game of the PS2 game, even the first task, comes back later on in Act IV.
* ClarkKenting: While it does somehow work, in the PS2 video game ''The Darkest Faerie'', [[spoiler: some of the members of the Council of Altador]] took refuge in Meridell under cover names. Who were they? Kell[[spoiler:and]], Torak[[spoiler:or]], Faun[[spoiler:a]], Gord[[spoiler:os]]

* GameplayAndStorySegregation: The PS2 video game ''tries'' to predict what armor/robes you will have equipped for Tormund and Roberta by the time you reach certain points in the story, but since they're cutscenes, they'll usually be off the mark later on (and the cutscenes never show the Faerie Dress; apparently, they assumed it's hard to find for players since it's in the purchased in the ''Hidden Tower''). And of course, some conversations only make sense when you have one of them out and not the other, so it can get confusing.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: Champions of Meridell started the trend of having the plots feature anthropomorphised characters. Up through that point, they had just involved regular neopets wearing clothes. For the most part, Champions was still mostly like that, but Jeran the Lupe Knight remained upright the entire time, and Darigan could barely be recognized as a neopet at all.
