* ALighterShadeOfBlack: Subverted, Magneto and Mystique at the beginning seem to be less evil that Stryker,[[spoiler: but they tries to use the captive, brainwashed Xavier to kill every ''non-mutant'' on Earth]].

* AsYouKnow: Stryker lectures Wolverine about the handling of adamantium only to add that Wolverine knows that already.
-->'''Striker''': The tricky thing about adamantium is that if you ever manage to process its raw, liquid form, you gotta keep it that way. Keep it hot. Because once the metal cools, it's indestructible. But you already know that.

* CompartmentShot: A shot from inside the fridge opened by Wolverine at Bobby parents' house.

* DeathOfTheHypotenuse: In this case: death of the ''Cathetus''. [[spoiler:The LoveTriangle between Jean, Cyclops and Wolverine gets untangled when Jean dies.]]

Added DiffLines:

* ArtisticLicenseMilitary: During the dogfight scene, the Air Force F-16 pilots order the X-Men to divert their plane to Hanscom Air Force Base. Hanscom Air Force Base is a non-flying base that doesn't have a runway. Planes use nearby Hanscom Field, which is a civilian air port.
** Plus, the military pilots fire their missiles at the X-Men's plane. Military pilots ''cannot'' fire their weapons over the territory of the United States without express permission from the President. This happens so often in fiction it practically deserves it's own separate trope.
