-->''"Pain will be your only way out."''

''Vile'' is a 2011 American independent horror film [[FollowTheLeader in the vein of the]] {{Saw}} and {{Hostel}} series. Ten strangers wake up, locked in a house in the middle of nowhere, with strange tubes attached to the backs of their heads. A video begins to play and informs them that the tubes are there to collect endorphins from the brain that will be used to produce pharmaceuticals, and that if they can collect enough, they will be set free. The only problem is that the endorphins are only produced when the human body is in extreme pain…

* FridgeHorror: The endorphins being harvested are produced in order to dull extreme pain. However, since they’re being siphoned off, the characters are in even ''more'' pain than they normally would be.

* {{Squick}}: Too many times to count, but the repeated act of ripping off fingernails gets an honorable mention. The sound effects alone are horrifying enough, but combine them with the visuals…
** Tara’s torture is particularly squicky: [[spoiler: after the physical beating they’ve all given her, Tony takes a cheese grater to her shoulder]].

* UncannyValley: The woman on the video who informs the hostages of their situation has face that’s just a ''little'' too long, and a mouth that shows just a ''little'' too much gum when smiling. The effect is chilling.
