Given that the movie isn't located in the Algonquian regions — nor does it have any real ties to the folklore — it's a safe bet the entity in that movie isn't meant to be a wendigo.

''AKA: Bigfoot: The Lost Coast Tapes''

A 2012 found footage film. After his career was ruined by a hoax, investigative journalist Sean Reynolds tries to make a comeback. He puts together his old crew and decides to prove that Bigfoot hunter Carl Drybeck's discovery of the body of a juvenile Sasquatch is a hoax. It turns out that Bigfoot is real and he brought friends. [[spoiler: And an enemy.]]

!!This {{Film}} contains examples of the following {{Tropes}}:

* [[spoiler: ApocalypticLog: Given the genre, it goes without saying that no one makes it out alive.]]
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: Given the title, of course they're in the film. The film does however, play with the underused theory that that Bigfoot is a spiritual guardian rather than a mere cryptid.
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: Stated by Curtis as the reason why he won't go into the woods. He even has someone else back him up on this. [[spoiler: Turns out they were right.]]
* BriefcaseFullOfMoney: In this case a satchel. Sean gives $75,000 dollars to Drybeck to see the Bigfoot corpse.
* [[spoiler: CosmicHorrorStory: A possible interpretation. Bigfoot exists to guard the barrier between this world and the next. And there are spots where things from beyond this world can come through and kill us.]]
* ClusterFBomb: Kevin. [[spoiler: Seconds before being horribly killed.]]
* CrazySurvivalist: Drybeck comes across as this at times.
* DaylightHorror: [[spoiler: Kevin dies in broad daylight, but the worst things still happen to everyone else in the dark.]]
* DontGoInTheWoods: If only they'd listened.
* [[spoiler: DownerEnding: Again. Not a shock if you know anything about the genre.]]
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: Whatever Darryl saw makes him shoot himself.]]
* EldritchAbomination: [[spoiler: Since it appears in the presence of unearthly lights and the mere sight it manages to drive a man to suicide, whatever the Sasquatches are guarding against qualifies.]]
* FaceCam: Sean makes Kevin wear one when he hikes back to the van. [[spoiler: It serves as his personal ApocalypticLog as it records his final moments when he's attacked and torn apart by whatever's out there.]]
* FromBadToWorse: As if a hostile pack of Sasquatches wasn't bad enough. [[spoiler: There's something worse out there.]]
* [[spoiler: GentleGiant: The Sasquatches are trying to get the humans to leave the woods and save them from whatever else is out there.]]
* GranolaGirl: Robyn is into spiritualism. She feels the "energy" of a place and burns bundles of herbs to help her commune with nature.
* HalfTheManHeUsedToBe: [[spoiler: Poor Robyn.]]
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: It's right there on the movie poster. [[spoiler: The Sasquatches aren't entirely peaceful. Considering that Drybeck ignored their warnings, stole the body of one of their own, ''and'' shot at them he might have had it coming.]]
* JerkAss: Sean
* LastWords: [[spoiler: Sean: "It's not a Bigfoot."]]
* LeaveTheCameraRunning
* LetsGetOutOfHere: It seems like half of Kevin's lines consist of this after a while.
* MightyRoar: The Sasquatches.
* {{Mockumentary}}
* [[NightVisionGoggles Night Vision Camera]]
* NoodleIncident: Sean's disgrace. Often reference, but never explained in detail.
* NothingIsScarier: We don't ever get a clear shot of Bigfoot. [[spoiler: Or the other thing in the woods.]]
* ScoobyDooHoax: Sean's idea for a new TV series involves exposing these. At first he believes that Drybeck and his partner [=LaRoche=] are creating one with the Sasquatch. Sean's analysis of the aftermath of a Sasquatch attack involves exposing the various ways that it could have been faked. It turns out that the whole situation is [[RealAfterAll real.]]
* SomeKindOfForceField: Admittedly it's just an electric fence designed to keep the Sasquatches out.
* TheOtherRainforest: The film takes place in the Pacific Northwest. California's Lost Coast, to be exact.
* TooDumbToLive: [[spoiler: Pretty much everyone.]]
* TwentyMinutesWithJerks
* VisibleBoomMic: Kevin is the replacement sound man so his skills aren't the best. Sometimes the mic is in the shot, sometimes the sound man is in the shot too.
* {{Wendigo}}: [[spoiler: The possible identity of the killer beast in the woods.]]
