* AdultFear: Concerned mothers are seen helplessly watching their children trapped in the dangerously spinning carousel.
* AlmostDeadGuy: Bruno, under the carousel, is able to deliver some final incriminating words against Guy before dying.

* FlashedBadgeHijack: When Guy takes off in a cab after the tennis match, the two cops shadowing him decide to hijack a car in order to stay on his heel.

* HandStomp: Hugo stomps on Guy's hands when the latter is hanging on to a steel bar to keep him from being propelled away from the spinning carousel.

* RichIdiotWithNoDayJob: Bruno hates his rich father partly because the latter wanted him to take on a regular job.

* InspirationNod: ''Film/ThrowMommaFromTheTrain'' is built around the same let's-trade-murders plot as Creator/AlfredHitchcock's ''Film/StrangersOnATrain''. This is directly referenced in the movie, when writing teacher Larry tells his hapless student Owen to watch some Hitchcock for inspiration. Owen watches the first few minutes of ''Strangers'', immediately recognizes the similarity to his current situation, and runs off to kill Larry's wife.

* IJustShotMarvinInTheFace: The cops at the end shoot at Guy (when he's running into a crowd of children, no less) instead of just chasing after him. Nobody seems to care that one of the shots hits and kills the merry-go-round attendant.
** Probably because they're too busy caring about the merry-go-round full of people that's [[spoiler:going at a dangerous speed and can't be stopped now that its attendant is gone.]]
