** Also Sallah. In ''Raiders'', Sallah was a canny and cunning ally of Indy. He was the one to save Indy's life after subtly noticing that the Nazis had poisoned the dates they were about to eat, aided Indy in excavating the Well of the Souls and was instrumental in smuggling Indy and Marion out of Cairo on Katanga's ship. In this film? He's a bumbling comic relief idiot who's lucky if he can remember to breathe when he walks. Who's saddled with a bunch of camels. [[ArsonMurderandJaywalking And a comedy fez.]]

** There were no Kübelwagens in 1938. Ferdinand Porsche wouldn't develop them unto 1940. Also, the two seen in the film are given to the Nazis by the Hatayan sultan along with the tank and trucks (they have the Hatayan symbol on them). This is likewise impossible, as Germany never exported the Kübelwagen.

Also, * ArtisticLicenseHistory: It's implied that the two seen knight was from no later than the Third Crusade (1189–1192). The problem is that the first recorded usage of the name "Jehovah" as in the film are given to "Path of God" trap the Nazis by the Hatayan sultan along with the tank and trucks (they have the Hatayan symbol on them). This is likewise impossible, knight set up (or, "Iehovah", as Germany never exported the Kübelwagen.Indy remembers only too late) isn't till 1270.

Indiana always had a troubled history with his father, Henry Jones, also an archaeologist with a life long dream of finding the location of [[Literature/TheBible The Holy Grail]]. This obsession drove a wedge between father and son, and the two have hardly spoken to each other for years. But then, Henry mysteriously disappears while seemingly on the cusp of a major research breakthrough. Now, Indy has to find his father and the Grail, while keeping UsefulNotes/NaziGermany from once again getting their hands on an artifact that could make them all-powerful.
