** At the end of the first flight, Washout starts losing his eyesight right as he comes in for a landing. He then receives orders from the tower that confuse him even further. He somehow manages to land safely anyway, only to discover that he's landed on the Las Vegas Strip. ** Near the end of the movie, when Topper's plane is limping back from the mission and Washout is trying to help him land safely, Topper begins reporting various system failures. First his landing gear is busted, then the radar goes, then he runs out of fuel, then a wing falls off, and then [[ExaggeratedTrope the other wing falls off]]. What's left of the plane then lands vertically on the deck, like a stone. Topper's just fine, of course.
