* ArtisticLicensePaleontology: Baragon is described in the movie as being a living dinosaur. However, no dinosaur species ever had external ear flaps, a sprawling gait, or differentiated teeth. All that makes Baragon resemble a sort of non-mammalian synapsid than a reptile.

* MinorMajorCharacter: The crew of ''Enola Gay'' as well as the plane herself played a very important real-life role in World War II coming to an end but in the film proper, the crew is never shown, only ''Enola Gay'' herself is shown from very far away, and after the bomb is dropped, they are never seen or referred to again.

* NoSwastikas: The Nazis seen at the start wear uniforms that bear not one swastika among them, nor does the German U-Boat have any. This is justified, as Buddhism is one of Japan's most-followed religions[[note]]67% of Japan's population is Buddhist, with only Shinto surpassing it at 70.5%. These numbers go over 100% as following both relgions is common practice[[/note]] and as such, the swastika is commonly used to mark locations of Buddhist temples. So as it is a sacred religious symbol, use of the swastika to represent Nazism is strictly forbidden.

* StockFootage: The footage of Hiroshima being destroyed by the Little Boy atomic bomb is actually footage of Tokyo being destroyed by an atomic missile taken from Toho's 1961 anti-war/anti-nuclear weapons film, Film/TheLastWar.

Misused trope: Death In The Clouds is about murder on board a plane.

* [[DeathInTheClouds Death From The Clouds]]: Once the heart of Frankenstein arrives in Hiroshima and has been shown to all the scientists involved in the project to see if it be used to help regrow body parts, air raid sirens begin blaring into addition to the droning engines of a certain [[UsefulNotes/AtomicBombingsOfHiroshimaAndNagasaki B-29 Superfortress]] as it is shown streaking through the sky above the city.
