** While there is no evidence that the photographs were tampered with, it doesn't mean they were genuine. Looking at them it's pretty clear they are paper. Magician and skeptic James Randi identified a fairy book from the time whose pictures closely resemble those in the photos, the same one Elsie would confess to sketching from in an interview.

Some viewing the photos say they can see the hat pins she said were used to hold them up.

* FridgeBrilliance: In reality the girls admitted that the photographs were fake (though Frances maintained that the fairy bath was genuine) but not that the fairies themselves were. The Brilliance comes in with the fact that the girls are never seen taking the photographs in the films. A reporter also finds cardboard cut-outs of fairies in Joseph's room.

* HeyItsThatGuy: Billy Mack is Mr Gardener, LawrenceOfArabia is Sir Arthur and Golic / The Doctor is Arthur Wright.

* HilariousInHindsight: At Frances's first day of school one of the children asks "if you're from Africa, why do you sound so English?". This is quite close to a famous quote from the movie MeanGirls where a new student from Africa is asked "so if you're from Africa, why are you white?".
