* ToiletTeleportation: Subverted when one of the Crites attempts to escape from the bounty hunters via the toilet bowl. It's a bit too fat to fit, and can't squeeze down the hole before one of the hunters blows it (and the toilet itself) away.

* CaliforniaDoubling: The series both subverted this trope ''and'' played it straight: The first film was shot in Kansas, where the story takes place. However, while ''Critters 2'' also takes place in the same area, it was shot near Los Angeles.

* EarthIsABattlefield: The bounty hunters and Critters in the first film don't really care about the destruction they cause on an InsignificantLittleBluePlanet.

* BillingDisplacement: As with ''Film/{{ET|The Extraterrestrial}}'', Dee Wallace-Stone (the mom) gets top-billing in the first film.

* HeyItsThatVoice: Creator/{{Corey Burton}} is the voices of the crites, some of which sound quite similar to Zipper the fly from ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers''.

* OhCrap: Quite a few, but the father's reaction in the first film when one of the Crites' poison spines slams into the wood an inch from his eyes is probably the strongest example.
* OldShame: Leonardo Di Caprio debuts in ''Critters 3''. Bet he leaves that one off his résumé.
