* LaserGuidedKarma: Quite possibly for Timmy's parents. In one of the previews, Timmy is seen telling his smiling parents [[spoiler:that he's never going to leave home. [[CrowningMomentOfFunny They quickly lose their smiles]]]] One reason this may be karma is that many long time fans of The FairlyOddParents know that Timmy's parents are pretty neglectful. In addition to this, both his mom and his dad have implied, and in many cases outright told Timmy that having a child has been a drag and a burden. Apparently, they not only are stuck with raising a child [[spoiler:through his teenage years. They're now dealing with the prospect of him ''never'' leaving home]]

* CharacterDerailment: Tootie, Chaster and AJ get totally new characters. At least there is a reason brought up why it happens with Tootie.

* WhamLine: The quote in Accidental Misnaming also doubles as this is since it's the first time in years that Timmy has seen Tootie and she's nothing like how he remembered.

The film is set [[DistantFinale thirteen years following the events depicted in the original series]], but nothing has changed for Timmy (played here by Drake Bell) except for his physical age now being 23. He still [[ManChild lives at home with his parents, attends Mr. Crocker's fifth grade class, and rides a tiny children's bicycle to school]]. Timmy's arrested development stems from his desire to keep his fairy godfamily, Cosmo, Wanda, and Poof, for as long as possible. "Da Rules" state that every child must eventually give up his or her Fairy Godparents when they become an adult, but Timmy has found a loophole around this rule by acting like a child.

* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: Hearing Tootie mutter "Oh, balls!" in frustration is a little bit jarring, considering it's a Nickelodeon production. Although considering that Daniella is part of the cast of ''{{Victorious}}'' it's not that much of a stretch. Of course, she's dangling over a bottomless ball pit at the moment, but still it's a little odd.
