''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6047272/1/The_Iliad_With_Zombies The Iliad With Zombies]]'' by White Rabbit Asylum

* ''Synopsis'': [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin The Iliad with zombies]]. Set in the fifth year of the...[[AnachronismStew modern-day Trojan War]].
* ''Comments'': Flat-out brilliant. The author doesn't hesitate to poke fun at Homer's idiosyncrasies, like his frequent reminders that Athena has grey eyes. Every scene is hilarious and filled with great lines. I think the one highlighting Patrocles and Achilles' [[HoYay subtext-laden relationship]] deserves a special mention for making me do a SpitTake. Unfortunately, it seems to be a DeadFic.

* ''Synopsis'': An imaginative, expanded retelling of several events of the ''Iliad'', which seems to have been influenced by the already mentioned fic by Virgil, since here too Odysseus appears under the name Ulysses. Events are seen mostly through the eyes of Hector's and Paris' little brother Troilus, who is in an [[StarCrossedLovers ill-fated romance]] with Cressida, the niece of Trojan bigwig Pandarus. Diomedes finally gets a love-interest and Thersites, criminally underused by Homer, is put in the spotlight for some great, spot-on lines. Unlike Virgil fic, Shakespeare has [[spoiler: Troilus survive Achilles.]] Not that it makes the ending any less depressing.

* ''Synopsis'' An exiled boy named Patroclus meets a beautiful and fascinating boy named Achilles in the palace of Pthia. This book describes in beautiful prose how they grow into love, and how the prophecy and the Trojan War changes Achilles... and Patroclus. Great characterization - the ancient Greeks leap off the page.
* ''Comments'' - Achilles/Patroclus is canon in this book.
