* Galaxy1001D's has both their own spin on a possible third season and several one-shots that are all fairly enjoyable at worst. All of their Big O works feel true to the source material while still doing their own thing, capturing the characters and MindScrew quite nicely. Fair warning, though: Galaxy1001D is a Roger/Dorothy shipper, and the aforementioned third season does touch on [[spoiler: CosmicHorrorStory]] elements, so if those aren't your thing, you should probably move along. Otherwise, Galaxy1001D is an excellent author who writes excellent stories, and I highly recommend giving them a read.

** AnonKunChan Not bad. ''The Blossoming Rose'' opens solidly with all of the noir cliches which made the ''Big O'' series such a delightful treat. As the story wore on, it became more and more obvious that the author was trying to pair off Dorothy and Roger for the sake of doing so. While character voices started out strongly reminiscent of parent source, things got a little off the rail by the time the story finished up. The villain's motivation, in particular, struck me as cloyingly trite and underdeveloped ([[spoiler: the other woman in the murder victim's marriage is a plot device which can work so well! Please, hint at a little more before dropping it on us and expecting us to accept it]]!). Once [[spoiler: Angel showed up as a jealous soap-opera ex]] I lost interest. Still, the sequel stories hold some promise. Give it a go, but don't expect miracles
** Tropers/{{Coppelia Martyrdom}}: I have to agree with AnonKunChan here. The beginning of ''Blossoming Rose'' did catch my attention immediately, but as the fic wound down, it lost some of its pacing and its reasoning for actions by the characters. In general, the pacing grew faster as the chapters went on, and thus, by the time I reached the ending, where a sudden Roger/Dorothy ship is pulled out of nowhere with little explanation, the story had lost a lot of credibility. I enjoyed how well the characters were portrayed up until that point, but the writing itself is not that intriguing either. I wouldn't recommend ''The Blossoming Rose'' so much, though I haven't dared taken a gander at the sequel ''Mr. & Mrs. Smith'', considering how the first one went.

* ''Comments'': Angel becomes slightly OOC in select parts of this fic, but for the most part, this was an interesting read. I enjoyed encountering the character relationships and seeing them explored, and its rare to see such attentions to character dynamics like this, particularly with minor cast members. A highly worth-while read.
** [=AnonKunChan=]: Bland. Seeing the nuggets of wisdom dropped by Angel was classy and gave neat looks at supporting character relationships, but some of these seemed extremely out of place. Schwartzwald in particular struck me as more of a buffoon than on the parent work. Nothing special to see here, IMO.

* ''Comments'': Absolutely fantastic. The author captures Roger and Dorothy's love-hate relationship perfectly, and the inclusion of Norman is a nice touch. Makrothumia also knows how to incorporate ''smart'', ''inventive'' comedy into her writing while highlighting on the characters themselves.

* ''Comments'': A dark little musing into the what-if nature of the series and how they translate into the life of one Roger Smith. [[spoiler: All of them, one after the other.]]

* ''Comments'': The idea behind this fic is excellent, I have to give props to the author for writing canon characters truly ''aged'', and the events behind the writing are given to the reader in an unexpected series of twists. Very creative and very heart-wrenching, but has a happy ending.

* ''Comments'': Very, very short, but the way it's written is almost poetic in its open-ended and rhythmic quality. One wishes it were longer, but the fic is still a warm, unique piece.

* ''Comments'': Parts of this piece are a little vague, as though the author could see what was happening clearly but forgot to write some critical information down. Nonetheless, it has fantastic characterization and refreshingly to-the-point imagery. Some angst, but the author handles it very well, in a style completely adhering to ''The Big O''.
