When Yosuke even learns about Shinji, he immediately approves of Shirou decking the bastard in the face in retribution for bruising Sakura.

** The fox reacted with utmost joy when given the name "Tama-chan" by the Investigation Team. See MythologyGag below for a possible reason why.

** The fox from the shrine is now actually given a name, courtesy of Teddie -- "Tama", which means ball/jewel and therefore implying that it's supposed to be written with the kanji "玉". She responds very positively to this name. Readers have already noticed that it's the same character has as in Tamamo no Mae's name. And there's speculation that this is not an in-universe coincidence nor just a ShoutOut.

** In chapter 27, Yosuke rhetorically asked Shirou whether he could discern any specific conversation among the typical racket of Junes' food court in an effort to prove the effective privacy of their "special headquarters". It turns out that his magus self-training allows him to do just that, almost refuting the point Yosuke was trying to make. The next chapter, this skill was put to good use to [[spoiler:follow Kanji around unnoticed in order to guard him from the kidnapper.

* AfraidOfTheirOwnStrength: The reason Shirou isn't so hot on the Social Link system is because, as a magus, he sees the enormous abuse potential inherent in it. Through the bond and with the help of a Persona of the matching Arcana, he can know exactly what the other person is feeling and what to say to get them to feel better, and later at higher Ranks, to do what he wants. In other words, even with the best intentions in mind, if Shirou is not very careful with what he says and does, he can emotionally abuse or manipulate them into pretty much anything. Yosuke, in rare moment where he isn't placing his foot into his mouth, tells him it's most likely that this fear of abusing said power is why he got in the first place.

** Played unromantically later on. Yukiko took refuge from the rain in the same gazebo while dressed in her work kimono when an unknown high school student (Mitsuo) suddenly appeared behind her and insistently asked her out despite of her refusals and obvious uneasiness, the rain and her confining clothes making it difficult for her to simply leave. The weather and the hour also made it unlikely for anyone else to show up but somebody did arrive (Shirou and Chie, going home after a trip into the TV World) and made Mitsuo leave.

* ContrivedCoincidence: How Tohsaka figured out that . Go and make yourself comfortable, the explanation is kinda long and involves many little coincidences:\\
\\
[[spoiler:During his MobstacleCourse, Shirou happened to run into Kaede Makidera, a former schoolmate from Homurahara and one of the "Track Team Trio" girls, and made her drop and break the glass wind chime she had just bought. They didn't get a good look of him besides the unusual color of his hair and a photo that Kane Himuro took of the incident that barely managed to keep him in-frame, but being members of their school's track team themselves, they decided to chase after him to make him give Makidera a monetary compensation for the broken chime using the picture as proof of responsibility, but they were found by Kotomine who used hypnosis to make them forget about the whole thing as part of his MemoryWipingCrew duties, except for Makidera herself who got lost in the way right before that.]]\\
\\
[[spoiler:The next day and for entirely unrelated reasons Yukika Saegusa, the last of the three girls, arranged for Rin to hang out with them during the last day of Golden Week and the four of them came across Ayako, who was there to sightsee a fair and made some small talk about how Taiga unexpectedly called her that morning to fetch Shirou's bow from the archery club in her stead. The mention of Shirou's name allowed Makidera to make the connection between the redhead and the guy who bumped into her. Her friends, now having no memory of what she was talking about, thought she was making everything up until Himuro's phone beeped due to an incoming message, reminding Makidera of the photo. At the latter's insistence, she decided to humor her and checked her files only to actually find a picture just as Makidera described, leaving Himuro and Saegusa at a loss.]]\\
\\
[[spoiler:As a magus, Tohsaka chalked up the inconsistencies to hypnosis and later asked the most likely culprit about it and Kotomine confirmed her suspicious and told her about the incident with the Wraiths and a boy with limited magecraft that helped him to fight them, but he was about to keep the names of the people involved to himself until Rin mentioned Shirou by name on her own.]]

-->Shirou: Yosuke, you're missing the point. Say you had this power, and you used it to get closer to Satonaka. Your Chariot Persona would resonate with her, telling you what she feels and be a clue as to what to say to make her happy, and get closer to her. Then when the bond is strong enough, you go to the next person, like Amagi-san, and use a new Persona all over again. I did some reading, and if Social Links are really represented by the Major Arcana, then that means you could link with 22 different people representing an Arcana, not counting Thoth or Hermetic equivalents. So, if you want to make Links with all 22 people, what do you do?\\

* BadassBookworm: Shirou picked up a reading habit after Taiga gave him a lot of books as a send-off gift after his trip with the Dojimas to Fuyuki and from then and on he can often be found with his nose in a book. He also does well enough in school to score among the top ten ranking sophomores during the first set of midterms at Yasogami.

* PhoneyCall: Cleverly Trope. Unlike other Spirit Advisors/Not So Imaginary Friends in fiction, Shirou's Personas can't hear his thoughts and he has to actually speak aloud for them to perceive his words through his sense of hearing via Synchronization. To avoid looking like a case of TalkingToThemself when he needs to speak with one of his Personas in public, Shirou pretends to hold a phone call with them so people will think nothing of hearing only his half of the conversation if eavesdropped.

* PopCulturalOsmosisFailure: Despite being probably one of the most well-adjusted magi to modern society and technology in the Nasuverse, there is a lot of pop culture Shirou is ignorant to. For example, his friends and especially Yosuke were baffled that he had pretty much no idea who Risette was or why is was such a big deal that she was about to perform in Okina City.
