** A pretty wierd example from Contra: Hard Corps, were there is an expy of an attack, rather than a character. [[spoiler: The first form of]] Colonel Bahamut [[spoiler: after fusing with Alien Cell]] uses an attack that is pretty much the [[DragonBall Continuous Energy Bullets attack from Dragon Ball Z]]. His second form [[spoiler: after he loses control over the Alien Cell]] looks like Slave Beast Taka, A.K.A The Giant Turle boss from Alien Wars and Shattered Soldier.
** The fight against The[[spoiler: Relic of Moirai fused with the Triumvirate]] from Shattered Soldier is oddly enough, an expy of the multi-fazed boss fight against Colonel Bahamut. And their first form resembles [[DragonBall Super Buu, again from Dragon Ball Z]].

** The Sonic games also have many similarities to ''DragonBallZ''. Sonic, Shadow and Silver are essentially expies of Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks respectively. There's also the super forms and the seven magical Chaos Emeralds. Unsurprising, considering the manga influenced quite a bit of the overall franchise.

* ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaPhantomHourglass'' gave us Linebeck, who has his share of similarities with a certain [[Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean Captain called Jack]].
** There's also Ciela from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaPhantomHourglass''. She looks exactly like and even has the exact same voice as [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime Navi!]]
* The recurring boss/enemy Mothula is clearly based on the {{kaiju}} Film/{{Mothra}}.

** Malladus from ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaSpiritTracks'' is a blatant one of Ganon from the rest of the series. Demon King? Check. Wants to conquer the world? Check. Possesses the princess? Check. Has an evil [[TheDragon second in command]] who's trying to revive/unseal him? Check. Looks like a giant blue pig/boar creature? Yep. Heck, he's even defeated by Link and Zelda working together and using the Light Arrows, complete with a death involving being stabbed through the forehead with a magical sword. Indeed, he's so much like this you could probably replace him with Ganon and not have to edit the story one jot.
** Due to the cast being {{Identical Grandson}}s of any similar-named character, technically every Zelda, Link, etc. from a Zelda game that is not explicitly a direct continuation of another is an {{Expy}} and not a returning character.
** Vaati is another Ganon expy. Both are bad guys belonging to a non-Hylian race that had no special powers until they betrayed their superiors (the King of Hyrule/Vaati's master) in order to steal from the Royal Family a powerful mystical power (the Triforce of Power/the Lightforce) that gave them the ability to change into a monstrous form, and whose modus operandi consists in attacking and seizing Hyrule Castle and kidnapping Princess Zelda, with the objective of taking over Hyrule.
* Cuisses, the TeamPet who can eat skill stones to fuse them from {{Level 5}}'s ''JeanneDArc'' was made as an {{Expy}} of the TeamPet Toad from {{Level 5}}'s ''RogueGalaxy''.

Added DiffLines:

* Many have commented that the new cast in ''VideoGame/DirgeOfCerberus'' are basically the entire cast of ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid''. Rosso the Crimson's a sexy sadist with a ludicrous accent like Sniper Wolf, Azul the Cerulean is a huge GeniusBruiser with a minigun and weirdly defined, animal-related magic powers like Vulcan Raven, Nero the Sable's an insane, Freudian mind-reader in bondage gear like Psycho Mantis, Shelke the Transparent is the cybernetically-enhanced ninja sibling of a sexy female scientist who has an intensely personal history with the main character like Gray Fox, and Weiss the Immaculate is a ranting, shirtless helicopter pilot and Vincent's inverse and rival like Liquid Snake. Shalua is a helpful, brooding HotScientist with damage and a dark secret whose sibling was turned into a scientifically-enhanced ninja, like Naomi Hunter. It almost qualifies as a WholePlotReference.

Added DiffLines:

* Most of boss cast of ''VideoGame/MetalGearGhostBabel'' are direct stand-ins for FOX-HOUND from ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid''. Slasher Hawk is an Aboriginal shaman with a bird association, to go with Vulcan Raven the Athapaskan shaman; Marionette Owl, with his madness and kinky serial killer routine, is a take on Psycho Mantis; Black Arts Viper is vengeance-crazed and TheRival like Liquid Snake; and Sophia N'Dram is a tragic, sexy war-oppressed woman with a gentle side and heavy guns like Sniper Wolf. Pyro Bison doesn't really fit anywhere, though.

Added DiffLines:

** The [[spoiler: first fallen child/Chara]] has very similar traits to the player character of ''VideoGame/{{Hatred}}'' where, like the character in ''Hatred'', hates the world and wants to kill everyone (which becomes even more apparent if you go for the Genocide ending which can only be accomplished if you kill ''everyone''). The two even have similar hairstyles.
