* LonelyBachelorPad: The compartment where the robot [=B.E.N.=] resides blends emptiness with salvage and litter strewn haphazardly. As he explains to the arriving Jim Hawkins, Doctor Doppler and Captain Amelia: "Sorry about the mess. When you've been baching it for 700 years, you kinda let things go."

%%* FairyCompanion: Morph.

* LimitedWardrobe: Apparently no one aboard the ''Legacy'' bothered to take an extra change of clothing for the voyage. Except for Silver, who changed his pants halfway through (because the stripes were too time consuming to draw).

** Billy Bones is a lot more sympathetic here than the book, where he used intimidation to live weeks past his welcome at the Benbow, and died of a bust gut from drink.
** B.E.N was a pirate himself in the book who attempted to steal Flint's treasure and was marooned to take care of it. In the movie, he helped Flint hide his treasure and was marooned simply because Flint died.

* HappyEnding: Worth mentioning simply because B.E.N's rescue and reform in the movie are similar to the book; in the book after spending all his share he came to live and work at the inn, and sang in church on Sundays. Likewise Silver also escaped in the book.

* ImpossibleHourglassFigure: The good captain's got what look like an 18-inch waist and 40-inch hips, but it's seen as one of the AcceptableBreaksFromReality because she's an alien.

* DisappearedDad: One of the few--if only--Disney movies where the parent [[spoiler:actually walks out on his family rather than dying.]] Nor is it 'resolved' with a reappearance. The man's gone. Which is ironic because in the book, Jim's dad died of stress.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Silver is a lot nicer than he was in the book - while he was charming and intelligent he was also a killer who only spared Jim because he needed him.
** In the book, Billy Bones stays at the Benbow Inn for weeks, paying only a few coppers and scaring Jim's mother and father into not asking for money, while drinking far too much rum. Eventually he dies of a stroke. In the adaptation he staggers in the door and dies from injuries brought on by the crash.
