** Haruhi's popularity among all facets of the fandom, along with the ReverseHarem status of the show making her a LauncherOfAThousandShips, means she actually escapes a lot of this in Ouran slash fanfiction. For example, people who prefer Tamaki with Kyoya tend to pair Haruhi with Mori or one of the twins. Twincest Hitachiincest and Hunny/Mori fans are happy to go with her and as the Official Couple, and so on.

* Manga/TokyoGhoul. There are massive shipwars within the fandom. But well, the characters don't have any bigger problems anyway.
** Kaneki gets the worst treatment. Of course, first of all there is Kaneki/Touka (Touken), then there's Kaneki/Hinami. Needlessly to say that both groups would gladly tear each other appart. BUT these are only the biggest groups: There, of course, is also Kaneki/Ayato, Kaneki/Uta, Kaneki/Eto, Kaneki/Nishiki, Kaneki/Amon, Kaneki/Juuzou, Kaneki/Yamori, Kaneki/Arima, Kaneki/Hide, Kaneki/Rize... and most importantly: Kaneki/Tsukiyama. While some of these ships were created just for fun, most of them are SeriousBusiness.
** It gets ridiculous, now that Sasaki appeared. Almost every above-mentioned ship works if you replace Kaneki with him, and they all have their own big shipdom. It is ridiculous simply because , for the love of god.
** Sasaki added new ships, of course. Sasaki/Akira, Sasaki/Saiko, Sasaki/Urie... like, seriously?
** The existance of Kaneki/Sasaki is self-explaining, right? There are also several threesomes (or even more), mainly featuring Kaneki, Sasaki, Rize and Yamori. Sometimes characters like Hide and Touka also get added.
** As already mentioned, these are only the ones concerning Kaneki. We have things such as Ayato/Hinami, Amon/Akira, Akira/Seidou, Amon/Misato, Arima/Minami, Ginshi/Akira, Ginshi/Hairu, Urie/Tooru, Saiko/Ginshi, Ginshi/Nutcracker, Torso/Tooru... The list goes on.
** Don't believe me? Visit the Tokyo Ghoul Wiki (http://tokyoghoul.wikia.com/wiki/Tokyo_Ghoul_Wiki) and do some research. The mods even invented new guidelines to prevent any further shipwars. Well, as already said: SeriousBusiness.

* DieForOurShip/Digimon

* DieForOurShip/YuGiOh

* Back in the days of the Franchise/Digimon fandom, just about every single character had a squad of people out to get them for getting in the way of this or that pairing, most of which would never even happen, and even if it did, many of these victims would have no interest in breaking it up. The main triangles, though, were Takeru-Hikari-Daisuke and Taichi-Sora-Yamato, one a very frequent ShipTease and the other involving an OfficialCouple. And before you ask, no, there was no specific popular combination of happy couple and evil rival; the combinations in each triangle were pretty much of equal frequency. Yes, counting the yaoi options.
** In the end Sora and Yamato got together. Which obviously pissed off Taiora and Taito fans. As for Daisuke, Takeru, and Hikari? None of them end of with each other but nameless and faceless characters. Pissing off Daikari, Takari, and Daikeru fans alike.
** Don't forget how Miyako took the brunt of the bashing in the Miyako-Ken-Daisuke pairings, .
** And not even the foreign Digidestined that appeared in maybe two or three episodes are safe from bashing. Catherine, the French blonde girl who helped Takeru and Taichi and got kisses from them in return, is often seen as an horrible threat to Taichi/Sora and/or Takeru/Hikari. In a similar vein Wallace, who kissed Hikari, has got both Takeru/Hikari and Daisuke/Hikari fans out for his blood. Same goes to Rosa, the Mexican little girl infatuated with Ken, who's very much maligned by Daisuke/Ken fans: many after-GrandFinale rants took pot shots at lots of characters, and Rosa was the one-shot female who took the hardest ones (Wormmon didn't like her, so she had to be a little bitch).
** The other seasons aren't safe, either. Anime/DigimonTamers fics that pair Guilmon with Renamon often feature Impmon (who, by the end of the season, ) and/or Cyberdramon (who never really cared much about anything other than battle) as the antagonists, making them just perverts towards Renamon at best, and outright villains at worst. And in Anime/DigimonFrontier fanfics, Junpei, who has a crush on Izumi, often gets made fun of in fics that pair her with anyone else, usually Takuya, Kouji, or Kouichi (Tomoki, the remaining team member, isn't so much bashed as he is ignored).
** Anime/DigimonAdventureTri restarted the ship wars as soon as it was released. The newest addition to the Digidestined, Meganekko Meiko Mochizuki, not only got MarySue accusations flung at her but she was also bashed for getting along with Taichi, which immediately sent the Taichi/Yamato and Taichi/Sora fans into screaming fits. As for Davis/Kari/TK? Well, the writers simply cut the middleman and killed Davis off and made TK and Kari pretend he didn't exist.
* Shorttank Anzu Mazaki of Anime/YuGiOh, Yugi's childhood friend, not only has the misfortune of being one of the very few girls in the series and being the crusader of ThePowerOfFriendship, but is also involved in a LoveTriangle with two of the main male characters (in the same body, but still...). As a result, enraged yaoi shippers depict her as a complete idiot or a homophobic harpy who wants the bishies all to herself. She's usually killed off horribly at the end of the fic.
** Gets even worse in the anime, where she has to compete with Rebecca Meganekko Hawkins who has even more romantic feelings for Yugi and generally a better duelist than her.
** Mai is also sometimes depicted as a sad old slut, usually when the pairing in question is Joey/Kaiba. Or Joey/anybody but her, really. Made even more annoying because Mai explicitly says she's got other priorities than romance - especially in the anime, where she did have the chance to marry a rich action star (a clear CaptainErsatz of Jean Claude Van Damme) but blew him off repeatedly and, when he wouldn't back down, she defeated him in a duel.
** Tristan/Hiroto is usually the Token Homophobe, especially in Joey/Kaiba and Yugi/Anybody. How vocal he is about it tends to depend on the level of badassedness of the people involved.
** In some Kaiba/Shizuka(Serenity) fics, Joey quickly turns Knight's Templar Big Brother when he finds out about their relationship and then cranks it UpToEleven. This can happen on both sides if Serenity is paired up with Kaiba's little brother, Mokuba, sometimes resulting in StarCrossedLovers.
*** The opposite also happens sometimes in Joey/Kaiba fics, with Serenity being painted as the bitchy, ungrateful little sister who wants to steal her brother's one true love. And for some reason, she's also portrayed as a bitch in Azureshipper (Seto/Anzu) fics out to steal Anzu's true love.
* Asuka Tenjouin/Alexis Rhodes of Anime/YuGiOhGX is not only hated and called all manner of bad names for being the token female love interest and MsFanservice in a show filled past the brink with HoYay, but for vehemently refusing to get into a relationship with Manjyome/Chazz.
** There's at least one fan that will vilify anyone who so much dares to speak of Judai hooking up with anyone but Asuka, especially if said hook-up is with TheAce Johan/Jesse. With the series over now, it seems they [[spoiler: took a third option and had Judai get involved with Yubel.]]
** Yubel is frequently bashed and vilified far beyond her actual canon obsessions when it comes to Juudai x Asuka fics. Oddly enough, she doesn't usually get that treatment in Juudai x Johan ones, and it's canon that she's jealous of Johan for having (supposedly) stolen Juudai's love from her.
* Divine of Anime/YuGiOh5Ds. Go to a horde of Yusei/Aki-fangirls, throw in this name and watch what will happen. It's definitely not fun. Despite him dying twice, which also presumably kills off the possibility of a future development of his romance with Aki in the show, the fans just can't stop bashing him and depict him raping, beating and insulting the living daylights out of her. Usually he dies a terrible death at the end of every single one of their fanfictions. In the show, it was not only made pretty clear that he never would have abused her physically nor verbally, but also shown that even if he used her for her powers, he was in fact always very caring and protective, if not gentle towards her.
** Another idea very popular in Yusei/Aki-fanfiction was (and still is) Aki turning against Divine as soon as she finds out about his evil motives and wanting him dead, killing him together with Yusei, or at least being happy about her hero Yusei having slayed him for her. This was completely jossed though in episode 42, when Aki actually did find out the truth and said that even if Divine used her for her powers, she still would always be grateful to him for accepting her and even that his existence was invaluable to her. Also she was pretty happy to see him when he .
** The Jack/Mikage shippers REALLY don't like Carly, and let's not forget how much hate Ushio gets from them.
*** Although to be fair, since AFriendInNeed Jack/Carly became far more popular, nowadays Mikage is probably the most hated female character in Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's for still sticking to her admiration for Jack.
** Recent episodes show numerous hints of Crow/Aki. Mention this and Yusei/Aki Fans along with the notorious Crow Haters will shout "CrackPairing" before you know it.
** Lately, Sherry LeBlanc fell victim to the Yusei/Aki-fans' bashing as well due to her increased interaction with Yusei and them sharing some pretty ambiguous moments. A lot of Sherry/Yusei fans bash Aki for Chickification too.
** In fact, Bruno gets this treatment as well. It's common for Jack as well from those wacky Faithshippers. They just kill everyone off while Yusei and Aki skip through fields of flowers and rainbows. Makes Literature/Twilight seem good.

* Since the Manga/DGrayMan fandom has a serious HetIsEw mentality, the most prominent female character, Lenalee Lee, tends to get this a lot. This is exacerbated by her close friendship with resident LauncherOfAThousandShips Allen, which, while it hasn't been definitively shown to go beyond platonic friends, has enough ShipTease that the crazier Yaoi Fangirls, particularly those who don't like her for being too girly, are prone to abusing her. They also beautifully showcase the DoubleStandard by calling her a FauxActionGirl thanks to a period where she was BroughtDownToNormal, while continuing to uphold the badassitude of , who underwent the exact same thing.
