Trimming down my own entry a bit since it was a kinda wordy.

* Joestar Runner: As a kid, ''[[Recap/SpongeBobSquarePantsS6E15GranpappyThePirateCephalopodLodge Cephalopod Lodge]]'' was the episode that made me realize the show had lost its luster. It starts with [=SpongeBob=] noticing that Squidward is always strangely happy on one particular day every month, so he and Patrick follow him after work and discover that he's a member of a [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Stonecutters]]-like secret society that meets monthly. The duo are caught during the ceremony and thrown out because "outsiders" aren't allowed, and they get Squidward kicked out because they claim he brought them. [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick try to make it up to him by starting their own society, inducting Squidward against his will by kidnapping him and forcing him through the "initiation" ritual of stinging him on the tongue with a jellyfish. The episode ends with the trio performing an EngineeredHeroics act by having SB and Pat "attack" the Lodge disguised as a giant eel (Represented by a live-action sock puppet, which is admittedly a funny idea) and letting Squidward defeat the "monster" to earn the Lodge's favor again. The plan actually works and Squidward is welcomed back in, but then [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick blow it by removing the disguise in front of everybody, so Squidward is kicked out again and banned for life. It feels like the whole point of this episode is to punish Squidward when he hasn't done anything to deserve it, and the ending actively shoots down the resolution the episode was building to just so it can end with Squidward being miserable. As a kid, my disdain for this episode opened my eyes to many of the common annoyances associated with the show's dark age, like needless Squidward abuse or [=SpongeBob=] and patrick being oblivious to the harm they cause.

** ''Tropers/SenorCornholio'': Well, looks like it's finally time to pop my [=SpongeBob DMoS=] cherry. And I found a moment from ''Sponge on the Run'' that truly qualifies for me. The movie by itself is okay; it had some funny moments, a few neat little gags, and a few cute character moments where the rest of the main cast comes to save [=SpongeBob=] from being executed by Poseidon. But the whole thing comes crashing down when, in the middle of the movie's climax, the characters all take a break from the plot to explain how they all met at Camp Coral. This is where Nickelodeon's ExecutiveMeddling rears its ugly head in the worst way possible, as it's explicitly clear that this is supposed to promote their then upcoming spinoff of the same name. Now, I could go on about how the late Stephen Hillenburg specifically mentioned that he didn't want a spinoff, but that would be beating a dead horse at this point, so let's go into the three big reasons why this moment sucks on its own merits. First off is obvious: it retcons everyone's backstories for this as [=SpongeBob=], Gary, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward ''and'' Mr. Krabs conveniently all met each other at this specific location. I can get [=SpongeBob=] meeting Gary there, and ''maybe'' him meeting Patrick and Squidward for the first time would have been nice. That said, retconning [=SpongeBob=]'s first meeting with Sandy (i.e. the second episode of the entire series) and Mr. Krabs' backstory episode with Plankton felt nothing short of insulting. Secondly, the flashbacks aren't even fun. They feel distinctly un-[=SpongeBob=] in how cutesy and diabetes-inducing they are, with the only remotely funny gags turning up during the talent show in Squidward's flashback. Outside of that, it's just uninteresting shlock that doesn't match the spirit of the series in its golden age, revival era, or even its AudienceAlienatingEra. But the third and absolute biggest sin of this scene isn't either of those very glaring issues; it's that it deliberately puts the movie to a screeching halt just so it can have a series of back-to-back flashbacks to a spinoff show that people are already on the fence about. This blatant act of self-promotion is something that films like ''WesternAnimation/RalphBreaksTheInternet'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheEmojiMovie'' get criticized for, except in those movies you could argue that the plot is still moving forward to some tiny extent. Here, you could remove every flashback and cut to the chase [[JustForPun (literally)]] and nothing of value would be lost. This is the part that actually sucked any and all good will I had for this movie out of my being; at least with my other listed moments, they never tarnished my enjoyment of a work and could still be seen as fun in their own right, even if I didn't enjoy the product. But something about this just felt dirty to me; it not only tramples on a dead man's over two decade-long legacy, but it actively breaks its own story to do so, while making you feel sympathy for the movie's staff and cast and mourn WhatCouldHaveBeen. A bad episode can be discounted entirely as it's just one out of hundreds, but a stunt like this shows just how little Nickelodeon truly cares for its own beloved franchise outside of its brand. [[ThisIsUnforgivable And that, in my eyes, can never be forgiven.]] "In memory of Stephen Hillenburg" my [[SoundEffectBleep *dolphin noise*]] tailfin.

* Tropers/{{Grotadmorv}}: Having binged ''WesternAnimation/KampKoral'' out of boredom, I can safely say it's one of the emptiest and least engaging shows I've seen. While there's plenty of bad moments I could name, I'm going to go with the ending of "The Taste of Defeat". The episode follows Plankton trying to sabotage Narlene's new restaurant. It's nothing too terrible for the first nine minutes or so, but when Plankton sneaks in to steal the recipe, we get one of the [[NauseaFuel most disgusting scenes in the SpongeBob franchise]] (spoilered): [[spoiler:Narlene rubbing her feet all over the food, shredding her toenails into the soup, and serving it to kids.]] Understandably, the kids are [[IAteWhat disgusted]]. But Narlene, being the CreatorsPet she is, needs to come on top! So she makes Plankton WorkOffTheDebt by working for her, and by that she means [[spoiler:grabbing him with her feet and using him to scrub plates]]. Yes, Plankton was also lying about the food he made, [[ProtagonistCenteredMorality but it's apparently fine when Narlene does the same thing?]] These last few minutes quickly tanked the entire episode and I'd call it the worst of the series. [[SeasonalRot So far.]]

** MrReviser121: Ironically, I hate how this episode has [[KarmaHoudini Mr. Krabs]] treated, of all people. Long story short, he tries to frame [=SpongeBob=] for stealing the secret ingredient to the Krabby Patty Secret Formula and get him arrested, but screws it up by pointing at SpongeBob with the bottle of the secret ingredient and confesses that he stole it because, well, he's a cheapskate. Krabs gets arrested and the judge sentences him to sell Krabby Patties for free for a whole day, to which Mr. Krabs laments that he couldn't bear to see that. Cut to [=SpongeBob=] giving away free Krabby Patties...while Mr. Krabs is manhandled by two policefish, [[EyeScream by his freakin' eyestalks]], in a chair screaming due to being forced to watch his food being sold for free; And the policefish are laughing at this. Really, writers?! You get Mr. Krabs get punished for being a {{Jerkass}} by having him be [[ColdBloodedTorture psychologically and physically]] [[PoliceBrutality tortured by a pair of sadistic cops?!]] Where's the justice in that? You made me feel [[UnintentionallySympathetic bad for that son of a bitch!]]

* Tropers/{{TomT}}: For me, the [=DMoS=] happens in the episode [=SpongeHenge=]. For those of you not familiar with the plot, it's a windy day in Bikini Bottom (bit weird that there's [[WaterIsAir wind underwater]], but whatever, the show has done stuff like that before), and the wind blows through [=SpongeBob=]'s pores, which attract jellyfish. There's some repetitive gags, Patrick is a jerk at one point, [=SpongeBob=] is made to be miserable, it's all the stuff you'd expect from a typical bad episode of [=SpongeBob=] [=SquarePants=]. Eventually, [=SpongeBob=] hides in a cave, carving out a statue of himself to distract the jellyfish, but it doesn't work because the song is the wrong tune, so he has to carve a bunch more to create the right tune. The episode is getting very weird at this point, but still nothing I'd call offensively bad. But then we get [[DownerEnding the ending]]. After [=SpongeBob=] finishes carving those statues and succeeds in distracting the jellyfish, what does our cheery yellow sea sponge do next? He goes back to Bikini Bottom, and finds out it's in ruins and all his friends are probably dead, saying "How long have I been gone?". Yeah. This is one of the most depressing cartoon endings I've ever seen! What becomes of [=SpongeBob=] after he finds out he's wasted years of his life in a cave carving statues? We never find out, because the episode skips to 3,000 years later, where a bunch of aliens contemplate the reasoning behind the mysterious statues. We never find out what happens to [=SpongeBob=], and needless to say, in the very next episode, everything is inexplicably back to normal and the events of the episode are never brought up again.

* Tropers/{{RWBYraikou888}}: Usually, I find {{Gainax Ending}}s in ''[=SpongeBob=]'' to be really funny and well-executed, but one episode where I feel it ended up detracting from the experience was "Doing Time". For the most part, the episode is really funny and has some great interactions. However, it's after Mrs. Puff is removed from kitchen duty that I think the episode starts to fall apart. What follows is a series of events where Mrs. Puff is made out to be TheCassandra repeatedly, because PoliceAreUseless. It ultimately amounts to the exact same punchline on repeat, but {{padd|ing}}ed out to fill the runtime, and I find it incredibly boring. However, it's the ending that I feel is the actual negative. Initially, I liked the idea of OrWasItADream for the episode, where Mrs. Puff wakes up, [=SpongeBob=] gets arrested, and it's revealed that she already did her time, and I think it would've been a great way to end the episode and salvage the boring montage. And apparently, [[WhatCouldHaveBeen this was originally how the episode was supposed to end]]. But then, it opts to go for a DreamWithinADream angle, and despite Donna being one of my personal {{Ensemble Dark Horse}}s, not even she can save this nonsense ending, to the point that I'm left quoting Mrs. Puff. "Aw, forget it!" I still like "Doing Time", but I do think it's ultimately hampered by the boring montage and the MindScrew ending that should've been cut short on the first AllJustADream.

* PrincessTogezo: I thought "The Sponge Who Could Fly" was a decent episode, but there is one moment from that episode that utterly fell flat for me: the part after Patchy sees the fake opening for the lost episode, where he concludes that "[=SpongeBob=] betrayed us" and immediately starts trashing all of his merchandise. Okay, shouldn't Patchy have at least watched the tape the whole way through before concluding that the episode was a bust, especially since he worked so hard to get it? More to the point, this is essentially a grown man throwing a temper tantrum and swearing off his favorite show forever just because of one underperforming episode (yes, it was the lost episode, but maybe it was lost for a reason, like just being a simple animation test or something). That idea should be ridiculous enough to laugh at (especially since Potty lampshaded Patchy's tantrum afterwards, calling him a "hothead"), but I honestly can't tell if we were supposed to laugh at the moment or cry at it; Patchy's overreaction in general (and stuff like ripping out his underwear) implies comedy, but some of Patchy's words (particularly "I'm sorry I ever became a fan in the first place!") and especially the music imply that this was supposed to be taken seriously. I neither laughed nor cried at this moment, instead finding it really uncomfortable (Patchy's restoring the merchandise after learning that the real lost episode is about to start does little to mitigate it), and I always try to skip over this moment when I watch the episode.

** Princesstwilight23: Can I just add, I get it, it's a kids show, but like really why does Spongebob continue to work there?! He gets crap pay (in one episode it implies he pays Mr Krabs!), he works with a coworker who hates him, and this episode legit showed Mr. Krabs will throw his best employee under the bus to save what? A buck 99?! This is on par with when he fired him to fire a nickel! JUST FIRE SQUIDWARD! In one episode he says he can't because Squidward has "seniority" but I heard that actually gives more reason to fire him! Ignoring that Freudian excuse, Spongebob getting blamed at the last third of the episode was so stupid and ruined a pretty already bland episode. And yeah like the top troper said, he seemed ready to fire his best employee! And again I know, it's a silly cartoon, but seeing Mr. Krabs pull the formula, I'm assuming out his butt, to point at Spongebob is so freaking forced and I really wanted Spongebob to rightfully call him out and how his plan, even for this show, makes no sense! I'm not even saying quit, but like call him out! This isn't out of character either for him. Spongebob has been shown in the earlier seasons that he will call out his boss for being shitty! The ending was fine for me, to be honest, the troper below was bothered by it (which I can get) but to me this was sweet karma!

Ya' see, at the end, Karen gives Patrick (who is disguised as Plankton's "Ray-Ray" persona) a digital version of the Krabby Patty secret formula. Karen then growls out "DO NOT MESS WITH DATE NIGHT, PLANKTON.", which causes Plankton to turn into popcorn, to which Patrick eats. Karen isn't really that bad of a character, but this is the moment where ALL of my tolerance for Karen was thrown out the window. The ending ALSO doesn't help, as Plankton has gone insane after what happened before.

* [=BobSaget9=]: I really do not like the shift into a more "cartoony" presentation [=SpongeBob=] took, and there are several episodes from this season alone I could mention. But since I can only pick one, "Snooze You Lose". The plot starts out simple: Squidward is trying to sleep for his Bikini Bottom Philharmonic audition the next day, but [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick keep him up with a loud burping contest ([[UncannyValley complete with "Face Freeze"-level facial animations]]) and just general loud, screaming annoyance for so long that (after going for a walk to try and tire himself out), he passes out at [=SpongeBob=]'s house. [[ThisIsGoingToSuck This is the last semi-tolerable part of the episode.]] From there, [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick try to wake him up with various methods (including loudly playing some electrical guitars that [=SpongeBob=] now has for some reason), but Squidward's still asleep. Then they decide "Fuck it", and make a clone of Squidward in [=SpongeBob=]'s lab that spontaneously becomes giant and escapes to rampage across Bikini Bottom. By the way, [=SpongeBob=] now has a laboratory in his house. Because. [[MindScrew And it's forgotten about just as quickly. Because.]] [[FromBadToWorse And then we get to the "highlight" of the episode:]] Patrick and [=SpongeBob=] proceed to [[{{Squick}} climb inside Squidward]] and control him like a puppet. If you ever wondered how one would go about making [[WesternAnimation/AdventureTime the Jake Suit]] fucked up, there you go. What follows is a parade of asinine annoyances as Patrick and [=SpongeBob=] try to find the Bikini Bottom Philharmonic, with such highlights as a "No dancing" zone, [=SpongeBob=] [[{{Squick}} mangling and chomping on Squidward's brain]], Squidward's clarinet winding up in his [[{{Squick}} ass]], and Squidward waking up mid-audition and regaining enough control of his body to [[{{Squick}} puke [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick up]]. Overall, the overtly exaggerated facial expressions are overdone, the lack of any rational thinking is annoying, the clear lack of any sense of a fuck in the story structure is grating, and it's painfully clear that at this point, the writers of [=SpongeBob=] flat out gave up.

Outside of that, it's just uninteresting shlock that doesn't match the spirit of the series in its golden age, revival era, or even its DorkAge.

** Tropes-Darksteel- Agreed, this episode has a number of problems aside from Squidward being dumb enough to give away everything for a piece of paper(him not taking Sponge on his offer to take his other stuff besides his shirt back makes him even more OOC). First off Spongebob having fun with the fun paper isn't shown to just be based on his imagination, he's also somehow able to make it do reality-bending things like using it to fly and play beautiful music with(which really sticks out like a sore thumb considering he was unable to play music on a piece of tissue paper in "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost" when asked to do so)which undermines the whole message of the episode and wanting to show Squidward as being too arrogant to have any real imagination. The episode as a whole is also just too darn, boring, predictable and repetitive with just one basic joke of Spongebob being able to do amazing things with the paper and Squidward being unable to, complete with the tiresome and overused "now matter how much I beg" routine. At least post-movie episodes give me some feelings, this one gives me nothing besides boredom and annoyance.
