This is a page on {{Tropers/Kraken}}'s CattlePunk HighFantasy prose project.

Young Jim Smith is unhappy. He is unhappy because his mother Susan is unhappy, and she is unhappy because her older son, Gary has been lost. It has several years since the incident, but still the family grieves.

On the same day that Jim vowed to find his brother, a representative of the global peacekeeping force known as the Law arrives in the family gun shop. Sheriff Christopher Makarov attempts to hire Jim's father Robert to travel with a small expedition of Lawmen as their gunsmith. Robert and Jim accept, and they prepare to go on the trip.

But heading the expeditionary force is the Peacemaker, a mythical folk hero who is rumored to be immortal and only arises when great distress looms on the horizon...

'''[[WMG:Terra]]'''
The notable eras of Terra are as follows: The Dawn Age, which was also known as the golden age of technology, making real every science-fictional dream. The Morning Age, which was the Severing, the death of 99% of the population, and the emergence of the five races. The Noon Age is when Lord Gene Mairon unites the world before dissolving his empire. The Twilight Age is the present day.

'''Xenozoological Notes:'''
* ''Snow weasels'' are a species of weasels that have longer legs than normal weasels, burning white pelts, black eyes, sharper teeth, an incredible tolerance for cold weather, and a furious temper. Snow weasels are very intelligent as well as cunning trackers, able to find prey and flesh from many miles away.
* ''Shard hogs'' are a species of hedgehog with ice crystals as spines. They also have the ability to flash-freeze animals as a defense mechanism by pricking the flesh and pumping the muscles full of Freon. They are the size of small dogs.
* '''Dragons''' are class of reptile, extremely large and mostly carnivorous.
** ''Salamanders'' live in the South, most populous in Arizon. Salamanders are fast, strong, and agile animals with giant lashing tails, six-horned battering ram heads, flimsy leather wings, thick skin, iron-like scales, large claws, snake-like teeth, and curved elephantine tusks at the sides of their mouths. Salamanders breathe either a spray of blue flame (to cook their food) or a jet of armor-vaporizing blue flame.
** ''Wyrms'' live in the North, most populous in Laska. Wyrms have very long, snake-like bodies, horns, large fangs, two pairs of small wings, a bladed tail, thin scales, and are white-gray in hue. Wyrms vomit flash-freezing mucus to incapacitate their prey.
** ''Wyverns'' live in the East, most populous in Floridae. Wyverns have a typical quadrupedalistic body, except with two arm-wings in front, triangular heads, and a scorpion-like tail. Wyverns have parasitic flowers growing in their stomach cavity, allowing them to breathe a pollen that intoxicates and spit a poisonous sap.
** ''Leviathans'' Live in the West, most populous in Califa. Leviathans are the size of medium-sized whales, have two very long flippers in front, two smaller ones behind, a spaded tail, very small teeth, and a cone-like snout. Leviathans fire high-pressure jets of water from the pods on its snout, capable of shattering steel.
** ''Basilisks'' live in the Center, most populous in Georgios. Basilisks have long bodies, eight legs, an oversized rattle-snake tail that also acts as a club, and a feathered crest. Basilisks do not have eyes, instead having an advanced sense of smell. What resemble their eyes are actually ejection pods from which they fire a quick-drying, petrifying cement.
* ''Yanbulls'' are a species of subterranean aurochs, with diamond-enlaced muscles and diamond-sharp teeth, agile bodies, and powerful forearms. Yanbulls live so far underground that the pressure added to their diet of coal makes them part diamond, of which they perish when the diamond hardens their bodies entirely within two hundred years. Yanbull veal is quite rare and valued in the culinary arts for its tenderness and sparkling flesh.
* ''Serafs'' are gigantic feathered-and-winged serpents, with blazing white feathers, gold-like scales, three pairs of wings, crystalline fangs, and six-to-seventeen blazing red slit-eyes anywhere on its body. Some even have wheel-like, multi-colored crests. Because of their feral beauty and ferociousness, Serafs are prized by the Engelim, either trained as steeds, attack pets, or utilize their corpses in their weapons and clothing.
* ''Dire Wolves'' are a sort of wolf-lion-gorilla-shark hybrid animal. Dire Wolves usually have a large chest, brown-orange fur with blue stripe markings, large, powerful front legs or arms with three fingers and opposable thumbs, large claws, foot-long spur-blades on the elbows, no eyes, shark-like teeth, and exposed ribs that retract to stab deeply during grappling. Dire Wolves are very fast, strong, agile, cunning, and have such sensitive hearing and smell that they can detect prey by simply discerning echoes.
* ''Bloodbears'' (''Ursus Sanguinus'') are a bear-like creature that lives on blood. Bloodbears are noticeably larger than grizzly bears, with very long saw-saber like fangs, pad-like paws, growths of strong bone on the head, shoulders, forelegs, and paws, and white pelts with red streaks. Bloodbears feed exclusively on blood, using their fangs to penetrate flesh before licking the flow with their tongues.
* ''Trolls'' are a mineral based lifeform with a vaguely-humanoid shape. Trolls tend to be around four-to-six meters tall, with featureless faces and four arms. Trolls are actually organic silicone-based computer automatons, and consume metal to make more circuitry.
* ''Wormrockets'' are a lamprey-like parasites that live in windy areas, usually found in the Laska region. They are around a metre long and three inches wide, with brown-gray scales, fins, bat-like wings, and very many very small teeth that they use to attach to animals. Wormrockets usually travel in swarms, and their diet usually consists of blood, although they also have a bit of an addiction to spark powder. Wormrockets usually crawl on the ground with their wings acting like crutches, but they can use thermal drafts to glide and use the sparkpowder stores in their twelve auxiliary stomachs as a propellant for extra speed.
* ''Screamers'' are a species of bat, originating to the Northen Laskan area. Screamers are about sixty centimeters long and two meters wide (with wingspan), are silver-furred with black areas, possess four wings and a wispy tail, have yellow eyes as well as large fangs. Screamers are carnivorous, using their high-frequency sonic screams to immobilize prey before they feed on them. Their teeth contain a venom that super-charges a body's nervous system, leading to increased strength and speed at the cost of health. Certain mountainous tribes entrust a Screamer to their chosen warrior-hero to lead them in battle.
* ''The Uguu Spider'' is a species of arachnid about the size of a small dog. The Uguu Spider makes a "uguuuu~" sound, similar to the low moans of a wounded creature, which draws its prey in before immobilizing them with a combination of web and venom. Although Uguu Spiders are usually solitary, several Uguu Spiders may band together to take down a large foe and share the remains. Ironically, Uguu Spiders make fine (if rather demanding) pets, making good trackers and good-natured companions.
* ''Burn Cucumbers'' are a type of land-faring sea-cucumber-like animal of immense size that live in oil-rich areas of Arizon. Burn Cucumbers have many small teeth, are greenish in color, and can grow up to one hundred meters tall and four hundred meters wide if they live long enough, most being ten meters tall and fifty meters long, and are very resistant to damage. Burn Cucumbers burrow in the ground searching for oil-wells on which they feed. For defense, the Burn Cucumber may regurgitate its stomach and ignite it with a flint-like organ in its gums.
* ''Imps'' are palm-sized, three-legged, black-colored creatures with white bone mask-like faces. Imps feed on flesh, wood, and metal, and are extremely sensitive to mechanical vibrations. If there are machines in the surrounding area, Imps will swarm, attack, and dismantle said machines with their strong jaws.
** ''Gremlins'' are large version of Imps with two sets of legs and bat-like wings, prone to attacking aircraft.
* ''

'''Zoological Notes:'''
* Common Arizon wildlife include small owls (living in cacti), toads (living in quickly-drying ponds), lean lions, fennec foxes, snakes, jackrabbits, pack rats, mice, bighorn sheep, eagles, termites, aurochs, lizards, pumas, camels, small desert horses, and vultures.
* Common Floridae wildlife includes parrots, toads, paradise birds, monkeys, leopards, snakes, jaguars, langurs, and lemurs.
*

'''Horticultural Notes:'''
* ''Ashwood'' is a species of tree. Its bark is blackish and its leaves are gray. Special properties of the wood make it incredibly tough, as well as searing and causing flesh to catch on fire on contact.. Only the most skilled of artificers can carve weapons from the wood.
*

'''Geographical Notes:'''
* The '''Aether''' is a planetary-spanning Internet, in which beings of information and memes, known as Signal Spirits, reside. Only certain devices can access the Aether, and only for large amounts of energy for a short period of time. The Aether is a relic of the Dawn age, and treated as a spirit realm by some over-enthusiastic Mechanics and the gullible.
* The ''Black Sea'' is a vast expanse of ebony stone to the far north of Knox that is entirely flat. The heat reflected from the plain is strong enough to cook food and occasionally set people on fire.

'''[[WMG:Races]]'''
!!'''Humanity'''
A once-great race during the Golden Age of Science, humans now inhabit most continents and number in a few billion. Once, humans were the only sentient race on Terra, living and building for millennia, their population a little more than a trillion. Ten thousand years ago, the all but ten million of them died overnight. Man rebuilt, but the wonders of science were lost, and new races rose.

'''Special Occupations'''\\
When a Severed touches a human, it touches deep within their psyche and opens the wellsprings of psychic power. To control such a torrent, these psionics learn the ways of the Mechanics or die explosive, painful deaths.

'''Mechanics''' are brilliant, psionic, cyborg mad scientist inventors who build highly-advanced devices, forge powerful artifacts, and supervise scientific research. Their psionic abilities power their augmetic limbs and built-in weapons. Mechanics follow the guild system of Masters, Journeymen, and Apprentices. Guilds also function both as a social network and a regularly-updated body of research.\\
Mechanics as craftsmen and scholars are highly prized and useful in every walk of life. Mechanics are not particularly individualistic, accepting of money and government aid, often establishing foundations and academies and taking government contracts. \\
Mechanics suffer the ''Wasting'', which occurs when psychic energy runs through a body uncontrolled. Effects include rapid aging, withering, color-changing and even brittle body parts. To combat the disease, Mechanics construct a bionic replacement, amputate the infected part, and attach the bionic. The mechanical part is powered by psychic energy, allowing the excess energy to vent through weapons and other devices.

The world of Mechanics has a very simple set of ethics and rules, passed from one mentor to another.
# '''Do not take advantage of the Ritual of Replacement.''' To combat the Wasting, the Mechanics amputate and mutilate their own bodies, and require fellow Mechanics to perform the surgery. Although friends and allies are often called upon, there are times when a Mechanic must put his life in the hands of an enemy. The foe must perform the surgery to his utmost capability, and must not take steps to hinder healing or kill his patient. If done so, the offending Mechanic would be hunted down as a traitorous and honor-less bastard.
# '''Your student is your responsibility.''' Whenever a Mechanic takes an apprentice, the Mechanic instructs the apprentice up till they feel that the student is ready. Until then, the apprentice is the tutor's entire responsibility. The student's moral failings, crimes, safety, and damages are the tutor's.
# '''Respect your tutor.''' Likewise, a student is to respect his tutor, as without their tutor, the student would not have succeeded, or even ''lived'''. When a tutor asks for a favor, a student is to provide it, without hesitation.
# '''You do not alter what does not consent.''' A Mechanic may practice his arts in whatever way he pleases, the only limit being this. Only consenting individuals may be experimented on, genetically changed, or otherwise altered. The dead or the dying cannot give consent, nor can beings grown from scratch in gestation tanks, so that is fine. What is ''not'' fine is kidnapping people for raw materials, performing surgery while another slumbers, or even experimenting on one's young children. Anyone who commits this transgression (especially the latter) would be hunted down and put to the sword, creator and creation alike.
# '''Serve, don't rule.''' A Mechanic is never to take a position of power, particularly in government or politics. The power within their limbs and minds are enough.

The '''Underworld''' consists of a loose sub-community and culture of soldiers, bandits, scholars, knights, wanderers, and beggars, all of whom know some manner of martial arts. In these societies within society - where honor, righteousness, loyalty, and individualism in all its values are prized - martial artists raise schools and clans. Justice is meted out from the clash of opponents and the spilling of blood.

Like the Mechanics, the microcosm of martial artists adheres to a code of honor and principles, learned through the instructions of mentors and interactions with others in the community. Those who break these codes are treated with contempt and disgust at best and actively hunted down at worst.
# '''A student must respect his master.''' This tradition is one of the things that Mechanics and martial artists find in common, and has brought many an individual together in brotherhood, and runs unquestioned. No matter how skilled, powerful, or influential a martial artist becomes, they must always treat their first masters with the utmost respect. Even the highest of the Sauri martial artists who are able to crush mountains with a single blow still bow and address their teachers as "Master." That respect does not end when they finish their training or become masters themselves.
# '''Honor the dojo.''' To martial artists of all races and ways of life, the dojo is a holy place that must be venerated. All buildings are destroyed in the end, but try not to harm it. This is where you trained, where you fought, where you were molded. Respect that, if nothing else.
# '''Do not strike when the back is turned.''' This rule also applies to indiscreet poisoning, attacking when one is asleep, or going after the friends and/or families of martial artists.
# '''Serve, don't rule.''' A martial artist is to never take a position of power, particularly in government or politics. The power within their limbs and minds are enough.
** ''Corollary:'' Martial artists sometimes choose to become state heroes, enforcers, and fighters, which is usually frowned upon and cause them to be shunned amongst the Underworld.

Notable denizens of the Underworld include:
* ''Turpin Grimmaldi'', a reverend brawler. Turpin is a hot-tempered preacher, a short, stout, and black-haired man, and a very enthusiastic knitter. Turpin wears the black coat, pants, and white collar of his calling as well as silver skull bracers.
* ''Grace Uotan'' - Also known as "The Accelerator Maiden" - is a skilled fencer and fighter, a practitioner of the Fire Blossom Style of swordsmanship. Her very large sword is composed entirely of nanomachines, and can cut through most things through molecular break-down. By absorbing the sword into her body, the nanomachines toughen her skin, bones, and muscles, increasing her reflexes, speed, strength, and boosting her fighting skills sufficiently to confront the strongest of opponents, but only for approximately one hundred seconds. Grace is the affectionate granddaughter of Nicholas Uotan, and a cheerful and avid learner. Grace sports a slender frame, long black hair tied to a pony-tail, and brown eyes. She wears a dark green blouse, a dark green slitted skirt, armored gloves and boots, and possesses a small hand-held timer that gives out an alarm when ninety-nine seconds have passed.
*

'''Bounty hunters''' are guns-for-hire, hunters of fugitives, and general mercenaries. Bounty hunters search for missing people, hunt criminals, find objects, or assassinate people, all for a price. Although many hunters are registered and sanctioned for the Law's employment, many, many more ply their trade outside the Law and its restrictions. The life of a bounty hunter is dangerous, arduous, and nerve-wracking, but has been glamorized in fiction, leading many who seek glory and riches to find none, and perishing in situations far beyond their capabilities.

'''''Notable bounty hunters:'''''
* ''Brett 'Jack Knife' Land'' is a registered bounty hunter, skilled at knife-fighting and knife-throwing. He carries a number of knives on his person, from bound glass shards the size of the smallest finger to two three-feet-long blades that only superficially resemble swords. Not much else is known about him.

!!'''The Law'''
'''The Law''' is an international peacekeeping force, one that only takes care of matters of national or worldwide matters and threats, and devoted to enforcing and preserving the very simple tenants of the Old Law, one of the few remainders of the Dawn Age.

'''Occupations'''\\
Each national office of the Law has different tactics, procedures, and titles.

The '''Peacemaker''' is the main figurehead and most visible officer of the Law. The actual work of the Peacemaker is to inspire hope, rally soldiers, boost morale, and serve as a diversion for clandestine probings. The identity of the current Peacemaker is always secret, to sustain the illusion of an immortal hero. The Peacemaker's iconic uniform is reinforced with Orichalcum mesh, and bears an arm-covering Orichalcum gauntlet known as the ''Revolver Spiral'', which fires cartridges that inject a cocktail of drugs into the user's arm, which increases strength and speed at the cost of the user's vitality. Completing the costume is a golden badge, bearing a seven-pointed star.

'''''Notable Peacemakers:'''''
* ''Jill Fields'', the current Peacemaker. Jill is a tired woman of forty-five years of age from the Kansan Freehold, whose body has paid the steep price of superhuman drug-use, and has suffered greatly for it without losing her drive and will. She carries with her an air of tired stubbornness, a strong sense of duty and loyalty, and vexed kindness. Jill once rode a missile, something that Cat never lets her forget. She has pale, wrinkled skin, shrunken muscles, faded green eyes, patched and irregularly-graying hair, and an old scar running from under her left eye diagonally down her lips. In addition to the Revolver Spiral and her bullet-resistant Peacemaker uniform, Jill also carries a thresher's knife, commonly used by Kansan farmers.
* ''Gary Smith Sciuri'' is Jim's lost brother. Gary was lost three years ago, wandering into the city of Knox. After some time, he was adopted by the Sciuri family, joined the Regulars, and was stationed in Arizon. Gary is a bubbly, always cheerful, and friendly person, albeit somewhat naive. Gary was nick-named 'Squirrel Boy' because of his pet rodent and odd fondness for nuts. Gary doesn't mind. He has very tanned skin, large eyes, a tall and lithe figure, and two very long locks down the fringe of his hair. As a Regular, Gary is a trained soldier, moderately skilled with a sword and rifle.

'''Sherrifs''' are the arm of the Law for Georgios. Sherrifs are usually recruited from local area lawmen, and bear badges of six-pointed stars.

'''''Notable Sheriffs:'''''
* ''Christopher Makarov'' is a patient and sensible Sheriff. Originally a Justiciar from Laska, Christopher moved to Georgios as partial retirement, married Cat Grica in Somewhere, and opened a saloon with her. Honest, optimistic, cunning, and easily likable, he is an expert at negotiation, deal-making, and an amazing sense of perception. He is forty-five years of age, twenty of which were in service to the Law, mostly in diplomatic missions. Christopher had gained a great reputation when he learned and learned the Conclave of an attack on their collective lives. Christopher has grey and red hair, weather-beaten skin, calloused hands, and is rather tall. Christopher wears a wide-brimmed Samson hat with a battered duster, and is equipped with a magazine-fed matchlock pistol known as a ''Hammer'', built to withstand great shocks to its frame caused by pistol-whipping with the gun-butt, a short sword, and a multi-purpose knife.
* ''Kate "Cat" Grica Makarov'' is forty-six years old and operates of a saloon with her husband, Christopher. Cat is tough-as-nails, kind, wise, with a wry sense of humor, and takes a deep visceral pleasure out of beating the stuffing out of the enemies of man. She is a crack-shot, skilled horse rider and survivor of many battles and troubles, and enjoys carousing with sailors, workers, and carters, and finds herself easily welcome in any drinking establishment in the world. Cat is big-boned and strong, with fading blonde hair, long wrinkles on her face, as well as very calloused hands. She was orphaned at one years old, and has since gone through the occupations of beggar, errand-girl, prostitute, and finally a Sherrif. Cat garbs herself in a duster, lightweight plate armor, and bears a halberd and a rifle.
* ''Jim Smith'' is afraid of fire, he has to run through one to save somebody and gets scarred.
* ''Ezekiel Watts'' "The Black Bolt" is Uotan's apprentice. Ezekiel was one of those psionics who did not reach a master in time. His powers exploding in his mind, Ezekiel was overwhelmed with the thoughts and emotions of those around him and fled far away. He discovered a cave, and deep within it was a mass of psycho-reactive crystal attuned to mental pain and suffering. Desperate to ease his pain, Ezekiel shattered the crystal and almost died from the shrapnel lodged in his body. Fortunately for him, Nicholas Uotan found the wayward psychic and did his best to save his life. Now, Ezekiel lives and learns with a mind as quick as lightning, an impulsive streak, and an amicable, friendly, and optimistic outlook despite (or rather, because ''of'') the constant screams of long-silenced ghosts in his mind. Ezekiel likes to make sparks dance from his fingers. Ezekiel has crafted a staff with seven joined sections that fires electric bolts and can call down lightning, and a static/magnetic levitation pack improved from Lightning Hound designs that manifests as eight electric spider-legs. Ezekiel has a slender frame, a mop of untidy bone-white hair with a long braid at the back, pale skin, sparking red eyes (literally), wears black-and-light-blue bolt-adorned light armor, and his mechanical arm, leg, and chest-parts are built with black metal, gray piping, and yellow edging.

'''Marshals''' are the lawmen of Arizon, trained from young and indoctrinated in the ways of pursuing justice, valor, and honor. Marshals bear badges of a five-pointed star in a stylized shield.

'''''Notable Marshals:'''''
* ''Nicanor Jericho'' is a Marshall preacher and a warrior poet, having served with the Arizoni Slayers in dragon-hunting. Reserved, temperate, wise, and a mediating attitude, Nicanor is well-versed in theology, philosophy, and has a voice like rolling thunder that he never raises. Although friendly and easy-going, Nicanor is mostly humorless, and finds himself uncomfortable with the finer points of wit. He has coffee-brown skin, a smooth face, a shaved head, green eyes, and is a massively muscular man, comparable to a walking wall of steel. One of the strongest men in the world, Nicanor is able to bend welded steel, lift a hippopotamus, and punch holes in heavily-armored fortress gates. Nicanor wears inch-thick steel armor (that he always keeps shining) and wields a great Maul (a combination of shotgun and warhammer).

'''Rangers''' are the officers of Floridae. They bear badges of five-pointed stars within a circle.

'''''Notable Rangers:'''''
* ''Cain Slade'' is a gruff and stoic twenty-nine year-old man, bearing a scowling face, tanned skin, black hair, gray eyes, and a horribly-scarred left arm that he keeps bandaged. Cain is a dedicated survivor toward himself, but possesses a strong sense of duty, which causes much self-conflict. His parents were killed by his brother when he was fifteen, and from there he went from home-to-home, struggling with life until he found employment with the Law. Cain is a skilled tracker, survivalist, and manhunter, well-versed in armed combat and horseback and motorcycle riding. Cain usually wears a stiff leather jacket, pants, and Samson. He also uses a light throwing axe, pistol, and a pair of trench knives.

'''Justiciars''' are the enforcers of Laska. They bear four-pointed star badges.

'''''Notable Justiciars:'''''
* ''Frankie Heywood'' is the Justiciar commander and junior Iron Man. A boisterous fighter, Frankie was once a prize-fighter. He tends to root for underdogs, and acts as a big brother figure to his men. Within his shoulders are cannons, within his bones are articulated metal plates, and he wears powered armor that grants him great strength and durability. Frankie also bears a great mace, altered to fire its spikes in a single shot or as a shrapnel grenade. Frankie has very dark blue hair, and wears sunglasses.

'''''Others under Law employ:'''''\\
The Law also employs others aside from bounty hunters. From Mechanics to gunsmiths, they all do their part.
* ''Nicholas Uotan'' "The Old Wolf", a senior Mechanic, and one of the oldest living and most accomplished Mechanics in the world today. He possesses a dark sense of humor, is always cheerful, and likes to perform magic tricks, skill or otherwise. Nicholas has a rivalry with Hieronymus Caristle, which began when they were both young men. Nicolas has developed wonders such as nano-mechanical medics, shifting skeleton keys, personal force fields (ten), a way to animate the dead with surgery. He has a staff with blizzard capsules, a retractable spear-blade which he can throw to seek targets, a clockwork spider mount ('Sleeper', adapted from Fogmen designs), a laboratory chair which can access the Aether ('Throne'), two cyborg spy magpies ('Who' and 'Morgan'), and two cyborg mongrel hounds ('Gerry' and 'Frank'). Nicholas has craggy features with small wrinkles and deep-lined cracks, tall, a white-gray trimmed beard and hair, a blue mechanical and one gray eye, and wears a pale gray coat with a hood and wide-brimmed hat.

!!'''Order of the Friendly Razors'''
There are barbers everywhere. The Order knows this. As was in past times, people tend to find their tongues loosened when there is a sharp knife at their necks. But not in a threatening way. Oh, no. The barber is here to listen to your gossip, your secrets, and your chatter. Which is where the Order comes in: Some of the barbers you know might be one of them. See, unlike the other barbers, the Friendly Razors ''listen'' to what you say. The Razors set themselves up in places of importance and pay attention to what there is their patrons have to say, give the information to outside dealers, who then sell it to the highest bidder (Interestingly, many important political players conduct their most secretive meetings and discussions in barbershops). \\
Friendly Razor secrets are kept with fervor, as is the truth about where the information comes from. After all, buying from one side and selling to the other is just as profitable as the other way around. \\
The only identification one Razor has to the other is a seal on their knives, two crossed shaver-blades above a winged ear wrought in gold. As barbers, every Razor is a skilled hair-dresser and a make-shift surgeons. In addition, Razors are trained to fight with knives, as well as lie and act convincingly.

'''''Notable Razors'''''
* ''"Todd"''

!!!'''Human Nations'''
'''''Georgios'''''\\

'''Capital:'''
'''Trade:''' \\
'''Government:''' \\
'''Geographical Features:''' A Georgiosan season is somewhat more temperate than others, but may still be dangerous. Spring brings occasional mudslides and swollen rivers from melting snow, thunderstorms, and a better chance at finding food. Summer brings heatstroke, torrents and torrents of rainfall, even more food, the clearest skies for stars, and dryer footing for mounts. Georgios is mostly grassland, the grass being longer makes it difficult to see for long distances, like a fog. As there are less buffers, winds are strong enough to make grown men fly. Grassland trees are small and scrubby, and the ground can by very dry. Scattered along the plains are rivers, ravines, burrows, shallow caves, tiny holes, and small hills. In the plains, the sky is much clearer, the sky easier to see. \\
'''Religion: ''' \\
'''Culture and Customs:''' Georgios has some of the premier astronomers and the best star-gazing telescopes in the world, because of their clear skies. Much of their culture is based on the predictions of astrologers, the stars, and the sky.

'''Main army:''' '''
* Equipment:
* Formation:
* Tactics:

'''Special units:''' '''The Fourteen Swords''' are the bodyguards and secret police of the head noble of Georgios. The current gender of the Swords are always the same as the head noble. Their emblem is a stylized "14" on a round shield with a sword through it.
* Equipment: Swords are garbed in steel armor plates upon black jackets and pants reinforced with orichalcum with a wooden tablet upon the chest, steel wide-brimmed helmets, and are armed with swords and knives for a variety of uses, as well as pistols.
* Formation:
* Tactics:

'''''Notable Georgiosae:'''''
* ''Molly Philionel Herculia'' - also known as "The Pebble" - is the current head noble of Georgios. A good-natured and energetic thirteen-year-old girl, Molly is a little naive, instinctively believing the good in others. Molly is a skilled martial artist and bare-handed brawler, possessing very large gauntlets that increase her strength over a thousand times. Molly is a short, prtty girl with a pinch of a nose sprinkled with freckles, dark brown hair, and wears in a dark green dress with a red light jacket.
* ''David Booth'', piano player for ''The Black Cat'', Cat Grica's saloon in Somewhere. Young man, good at singing, skilled boxer and improvised weapon user. He puts his skills to use as a musician and a hidden bouncer.

'''''The Kansan Freehold'''''\\
'''Kansa''' is a land of obvious wealth and hidden dangers. The climate, ground, and conditions are perfectly suited to growing many kinds of staple foods. Of mysterious note is how everything in one area is perfectly suited year-round to grow a certain crop, whereas another is the same for an entirely different one, be they from different climates or require different needs. Even with more than half of the land area used for agriculture alone, there are still many rich grasslands, seemingly sculpted for raising animals, from bison and goats to ankylo and yanbulls. Kansan regularly exports their surplus food to other parts of the world, accounting for slightly less than half of total global food production, leading it to be called 'the breadbasket lands'.

The dangers are well-hidden, but no less deadly. ''Dire wolves'' roam the cornfields in search of flesh, aggressive four-armed stone ''Trolls'' wander the grasslands around looking for sources of magnesium, and all manner of carnivorous plants disguise themselves as crops. Stampedes of rampaging wild cows and goats are a clear and present danger as well, able to split men's heads in two with a single kick. Kansan is a menagerie of the strange, the bizarre, the mundane, and the very hazardous.

Protecting the nation's citizens from these dangerous animals is the ''Kansan Militia''.

'''Capital:''' '''Topeka''' sits at where the ''Black River'' and the ''White River'' meet. The Black River is carved by magma flows, which makes the river shine and deposit fertile volcanic ash in flooding season. The White River is especially clear, resembling molten glass. The Black and White Rivers are fraught with dangers such as rapids, whirlpools and sharp rocks. Topeka serves as a major trading port, shipping their surplus crops, livestock, and lumber all around the world. \\
'''Trade:''' Kansa exports almost any kind of staple food, from corn, rice, potatoes, to barley, wheat, and rye. Much livestock, fruit, and vegetables is exported as well, but somewhat less than other crops because of the limited range of spoiling.\\
'''Government:''' \\
'''Geographical features:''' Kansa has the strangest of forests, which are forests of over-sized plants and fruit trees, leading to wheat as tall as Sequoia and tomatoes as large as wagons. The humidity levels, although not as great a degree as Floridae's, are still very potent and strong.\\
'''Religion:''' Kansa follows an animistic faith, in which they revere the many small gods of the harvest, known as Yields. The Yields take the form of small stone and metal shrines in many different shapes, from cubes to foxes to perch-like archways. The Kansans pray and sacrifice to these shrines, sometimes every day. Unknown to the people, the shrines of the Yields are actually voice-activated fertilization-control modules that directs the geography.\\
'''Culture and Customs:''' Because of the very strong sun, the Kansan people identify and distinguish their highly-intricate tribal and clan structures through the use of hats, usually straw ones. Each different style of hat is reserved for members of that clan, such as the ''Persona'' clan of spies and licensed thieves that wear full-head cylindrical straw hats with slits for eyes, the ''Tennen'' Clan of dancers and performers that wear folded straw mats adorned with jewelry and gold, and the ''Matsya'' Clan of fishermen and privateers that wear short-round brimmed domed straw hats with red bands. Foreigners and strangers, if they choose to wear hats at, must wear unadorned conical straw hats.

'''Main army:''' '''The Kansan Militia''', a scatted mass of highly-trained hunters and trackers, which may be purposed as a full army in times of war. They are nicknamed 'Crows' because of their black clothing and large, beak-like hoods, but much prefer the epithet 'Ravens'. Kansan Militia horses are usually of the Corn-Charger breed.
* Equipment: Militia-men are garbed in black canvas and have chest, arm, and leg armor. They wield rifles, very light artillery, and their combat knives/bayonets are curved threshing blades.
* Formation: As militia, varied. As organized military, they use five-man squads, four-squad sections, five-section platoons, twenty-platoon companies, and twenty-five-company regiments.
* Tactics: As militia, the Ravens excel in raiding, ambushes, scouting, and marksmanship.

'''Special Units:''' The '''Reapers''' are a squad of elite fighters, the Topekan Freehold Guard, who serve exclusively as the bodyguards and protectors of the Kansan Freeholder. Fast, strong, and skilled in the Dire Reaving Style of martial arts. Their emblem is the dove. Reaper horses are usually of the Coalborn Charger breed.
* Equipment: The Reapers wear face-obscuring helmets, long white coats, steel gauntlets and grieves. Their weapons of choice are pistols and a combat scythe. The combat scythe is specially designed with a switch that flips the blade upright for the Pole-arm form which focuses spear-like swift attacks, and another that flips it down for the Reaping form which focuses on swirling and spinning defensive maneuvers, as well as ceremonial purposes.
* Formation: Reapers are divided into squads of eight.
* Tactics: The Reapers are masters at close-combat fighting.

'''''Notable Kansans:'''''
* ''Pat Rickman'', the current Freeholder. Pat is a man who has only just realized his family's importance, a grieving widower, a devoted politician, and a very easy to manipulate man (by Zakeus Vipre). In addition, he finds the stress made by the nerve-wracking work of guiding a nation under constant threat to be very distressing. Pat is a tired-looking fifty year old man, with wrinkled skin, balding brown hair, and large hands. Pat dresses simply in a brown suit and white shirt.
* ''Mordecai Tome'' - "The Old Turtle" - is the sage acting-general of the Kansan Militia. Mordecai is an aged fighter, strong for his size, with reflexes honed by decades of peril and wields his old and battered cleaver-like sword and pistol to great effect. Mordecai is a slightly-cranky ancient man, renowned world-wide for his wisdom, intelligence, and battle experience. He is also respected by his men, who tolerate his small eccentricities with good humor, and is never seen without a book. Mordecai is a very old man hunch-backed by age, with shriveled limbs that hide wiry power, extremely large hands, coarse silvery hair that clings like moss to his huge skull, his face is etched deeply with wrinkles, lines, and whorls, and possessing dark brown eyes, giving his general appearance rather like that of a snapping turtle. Mordecai dresses simply in a dark green waistcoat with brown leather jacket and pants, with simple armor plates on his arms and legs, and upon his brow are rimless spectacles.

'''''Arizon'''''\\

'''Capital:''' The city of '''Firebird''' is built from immensely strong glass, and about a quarter of the towers no longer have tips while four towers have been utterly shattered. The city is arranged in an intricate mandala of myriad-shaped and colored buildings. There are streets of brown glass that shines red in the setting sun, green grass towers that seem to trap the sun in a thousand bottles, breakwaters and a river harbor of sparkling blue glass, and vast cathedral-like factories of stained glass. At the heart of the city is a simple house, made from indestructible golden glass. It is believed that the city's architect used to live there, but it is not in use at the moment. Observing from the ground or watching from the air, the glass towers seem to move. Unable to replicate the process of glass-making, the Arizoni build adobe, stone, broken glass houses. \\
'''Trade:''' Arizoni utilize the glass collected from their shattered towers to build highly-heat resistant, strong, and beautiful items and weapons. This broken glass (known as ''Tower Glass'') as well as the glass smelted from their sand fields fuels their crafts and artisan industry. Arizoni also mine salt, obsidian, diamonds, and other minerals, and harvest fruits and spices such as pepper, figs, and dates.\\
'''Government:''' \\
'''Geographical features:''' Arizon has many deserts, from the flat plains of sand to dry valleys and canyons, from clay deserts to salt lakes and saltpans, and last of all the very rare 'dunes-dunes-and-more-dunes' variety of desert. Arizon also has many volcanoes, most of which are "safe", providing predictable flows of lava and magma, known as "''Obsidian Rivers''". During the raining seasons, flash floods in canyons are unpredictable and dangerous. Even deserts have growing seasons; after the rain falls on clay-like soil, flowers and grass spring from the ground, carpeting the entire area in green, speckled with red and yellow. Arizon also has unpredictable static storms during the summer, known as "''Lightning Storms''". \\
Glare reflected from polished rocks (such as obsidian) during the day may blind people, which is why the Arizoni wear special goggles when mining the mineral. The ''Hari-Samp River'' cuts right through the country, with many towns, villages, and cities (including Firebird) along its banks. The river itself is a twisting serpent of silver (the water) wrapped in green (the grassy banks), surrounded by a million different shades and patterns of the ranges of white, orange and red (the terrain, mixings of sand, clay, and soil). The desert during the day is extremely hot, which is why no business is done during noon. Desert nights - on the other hand - are the exact opposite, being extremely cold. Oases are rare, to say the least. Drum sands are a condition of sand compaction, which makes sand grains rub each other when pressure is applied, so the slightest step makes the sound of drumming. There are many shades and colors of the sands, such as brown, tan, white, and rarest of all, gold.\\
'''Religion:''' The ''Ag'lagna'' religion is the largest religion in Arizon, based on a collection of folk tales known as the ''Kahaniyam'', which incidentally also doubles as a war manual. The Kahaniyam tells of an all-powerful god of good known as ''Samsara'', both order and chaos, light and darkness, creation and destruction, who made the entire universe, man, and his servants. Jealous of their master's power, Samsara's servants stole power from him, and thus there were seven gods of equal power. The seven gods, being equal, then chose to define themselves from each other, becoming ''Lal'sa'' (desire), ''Krodh'a'' (rage), ''Shok'a'' (sorrow), ''He'kaari'' (pride), ''Udhasinta'' (apathy), and ''D'veesh'' (malice), becoming the ills of the universe. Samsara fought against them throughout eternity, and the battle shattered the universe, making it imperfect. In his compassion, Samsara did not forget man, and sent a piece of his essence to earth.\\
That piece of essence became a man, and was known as ''Udkhara''. Udkhara the Savior walked Terra, preaching a message of truth, mercy, redemption through him personal responsibility, and righteousness. Before returning to join the fight however; Udkhara empowered the most devout and faithful of his disciples to guide humanity. A few of the One-Hundred-And-Eight Flames are ''Agnis'' the Two-Faced of the Burning Sun and the Blazing Moon, ''Yogun'' the Iron-Handed of the Volcano and the Forge, ''Drak'' of the Dragons and Soldiers, ''Dega'' the Four-Armed and the Destroying Flame, ''Jarada'' the King Phoenix of the Dancing Pyre, ''Diyan'' the Maiden Aunt of the Heat of Desire, ''Eska'' the Joker of the Laughing Fire, ''Britene'' the Lady-of-War of Burning Wisdom, ''Tordell'' the Swift of the Lightning, ''Kokayuna'' the Gray of the Intoxicating Smoke, ''Orfan'' the Broad of the Scorching Wheel, ''Masagitt'' the Rider of the Inferno, and ''Siesh'' the Hero of the Subdued Lantern.\\
There are many religious sects, such as the ''Disciples of Drak'', a sect of red-robed wandering monks who contribute the largest percentage of Slayers, or the ''Iron Pyreans'', a clan of martial artist priests and smiths. The Ag'lagna religion teaches that the righteous, the faithful, and the just plain good will feed the eternal fires that power Samsara's metaphysical war machine, which will finally destroy the Six in the end of days and re-create the universe into the perfection. The Ag'lagna also believe that all things are a manifestation of the universal fire, known as "''Huo''." \\
'''Culture and Customs:''' Arizoni funeral traditions are usually large celebrations, to give joy to the attendees and to remember the life that the deceased has lived. The ''Ya'tri'' are a group of nomads that wander a strict circuit of territories. Runaway or lost Children are picked up by the Ya'tri, whereupon they travel with them to the next village, and then send the child home with an appointed baby-sitter. A custom among the desert peoples is to grease one's nostrils else they dry and crack, rendering the nose useless. Natives also tend to wear loose-fitting clothes that are black outside and white inside, to lessen the heat and always keep their heads covered. The Arizoni pray to the One-Hundred-And-Eight-Flames to either help them or to plead to them ''not'' to aid them, that they might solve their own problems so that Samsara might gain ground against the Six. \\
Arizoni recreational drug use is legal for qat, marijuana, hashish, and tobacco (usually smoked in huoqas). Any Arizoni from anywhere can tell from heart ten-to-fifteen stories on average with new ones every day, because stories form such a big part in their lives and culture. All events are compared to famous stories, all lessons in the form of a story, and all news in the form of a story. \\
Arizoni marriage customs has the bride stay with the groom's family and vice-versa for a month before the wedding. The actual ceremony is an informal one, with the entire assembly dividing into two halls, the men from both families with the groom, and the women from both families in the other. There, the night is wasted away with much story-telling and carousing, and it is considered good form for the married guests to share marriage advice to the bride and groom. At midnight, the men and the women carry the groom and bride respectively out on a parade, culminating with the guests locking both bride and groom in a single dark room for the night, where they may consummate their marriage if they wish. In the morning, the bride and the groom step through the door together to see their minister and the after-wedding party, and are pronounced married on the threshold.

They also wear gas-mask re-breather helmets made of orichalcum with lenses of tower glass, connected to back-slung oxygen tanks. In addition, Slayers are given obsidian-laced scimitars, semi-automatic rifles, and large flame-throwing rifles with adjustable settings from a wide spray of fire (known as the "Flame Shield"), to a concentrated jet that melts metal (the "Flare Arrow"), all decorated with dragons with orichalcum. These are distractions, for the ''true'' monster-killing weapons are the combination shotgun-warhammers known as the Maul, which when struck against scaled flesh and the trigger pulled, sends forth a small explosion that can tear apart cardonite steel. Mauls also have a secondary firing capability for fire-fights.
* Formation: Each Slayer is accompanied with a smith and a page-apprentice.

Its ports feature ancient gravity-lifters used to carry and raise cargo, but no-one remembers how to use them. Sacrament also includes the flourishing farms beside the seacoast, which has a warm current and good soil. Gate-crashing is tolerated and even encouraged, as there is much liquor all around. The before-party and after-parties are identical, being little more than excuses to drink, brawl, and carouse in a friendly, rowdy manner. The ceremony is a simple matter, with the groom waiting on the shore while the bride approaches upon a ship or boat, with the groom having to wade and swim to meet her. The minister then shouts out the rest of the libations, the couple embrace, and they set sail wherever they wish, to either a honeymoon or back to the party.

'''''Laska'''''\\

The flag of Laska is a field of crimson with a circle of yellow forming a red star emblazoned in the middle.

'''Capital:''' '''Rochmind''' is the capital city of Laska, built deep into the ''Neverwas Mountains'', the tallest and largest mountain range on Terra. Rochmind consists of an intricate series of catacombs, caves, caverns, and passageways, all branches of a humongous system of curving halls, in the shape of a spiral. The walls of the caverns and halls are extremely smooth, intricately carved in some places, and always well-lit with a glowing fungus that grows within a quartz crystal, known as a ''Sun Spore''. As it is difficult reach the sun, the citizens of Rochmind raise a kind of fungus which is both nutritious and tasty (if prepared properly). \\
'''Trade:''' Laskan land is rich in minerals, metals, and gems, and they also export their many varieties of Rochmind-grown fungus for delicacies, tools, weapons, and medicine. Laskan also exports ''Mudra wood'', which is similar to Mahogany, but smells sweeter, has a darker color and is used to make much the same things Mahogany is used for. Mudra wood is expensive and highly-prized, which is a joke to native Laskans, as Mudra wood is actually quite common. Many other kinds of wood from Ironwood to mahogany is also exported. Mammoth and caribou meat and hides are also sold abroad. \\
'''Government:''' Laska is in the midst of a governmental change, its ruler-knights slowly being replaced by a revolutionary scientist-inventor caste with great ideas on social tinkering, economic control, and governmental restrictions.\\
'''Geographical features:''' The landscape of Laska is varied, beautiful, and dangerous. The nation is a peninsula, surrounded by the coldest waters in the world. In the winter months, most of the seas freeze entirely until nothing is left but snow and ice, forming a bridge in-between continents. During that time, animals are more plentiful, but also far more wary. Even so, tundra dwellers must live carefully on hunted meat, fish, seals, and possibly small whales. In the spring, the seas develop into ''ice floes'', floating chunks of ice about ten kilometers wide, larger ones being ''ice fields''. Some ice floes have been freezing and melting for centuries without being entirely gone, with many of these inhabited by small families or even small villages, hunting, rearing, living, and drifting as time goes by.
Farther north, the mountaineers live in villages of intricately-carved caves, while foresters must survive in forests many times larger than any city. There, seasons are brutal and unforgiving, with the long, lean, and desperate winters, followed by a short, intense spring, and then the slightly-longer summer, autumn, and lastly the hard winter again. \\
In the far north are the Hollows, a unique area of utterly desolate land, where strong winds blow away large amounts of silt, depositing them in sheltered pockets in the ground. If untended to by human hands, the silt simply blows away in due time. But if trees and plants are transplanted to hold the silt down, a Hollow may become farmable land. As oases in the frost, life is especially hard, with strong winds carrying anything that isn't nailed down all year long, but are invaluable for survival that far north.\\
'''Religion:''' Laskans believe that the hard winter is a punishment to them by their god - the Great Storm - for a grievous sin committed long ago. The Great Storm himself is a wild, unpredictable, and unknowable being. The divine construct known as the Small Whirlwind sought to save mankind but did not understand, only knowing to destroy. To correct things, the herald and prophet of the Small Whirlwind stood his ground before his savior and took control, the wind scouring the flesh from his bones. The religious are a minority in Laska, and despite the veneration and reverence of Bones, most Laskans are of a secular mindset. Those that ''do'' believe in an afterlife imagine a shelter from the Great Storm's winds, built from Jack Bone's skeleton.\\
'''Culture and Customs:''' In the winter, ice floe and ice field villages have festivals and courtship preparations for marriage between villages, as they have learned not to let their blood mix too shallow. Foresters and mountaineers can only grow small yields in the summer. During the winter, they must rely on sheep for wool and goats for cheese and leather, and both for meat. Those far northerners are harder, stronger, better at survival, tougher, as well as more stoic than most. Laskans tend to adorn everything with skulls because of their John-The-Baptist figure - Jack Bones - that is arguably move beloved than their savior, a fun-loving and charming skeleton known as ''Bones''.

'''Main army: '''Soldat Heavy Armaments Division''' is the main fighting force of Laska. Their emblem is the bull.
* Equipment: All Soldat are issued medium armor with half-face grilled helmet. Front-line troopers are equipped with heavy shields that can be stuck in the ground, heavy strike bull-horn gauntlets, and heavy pistols. Middle-line Soldat are equipped with a pack of light cannon on their shoulders as well as the heavy pistols. Lastly, back-line troopers wield the heavy pistols and a portable shell-launcher that can also be stuck in the ground.

'''Cavalry:''' '''Bloodbear Riders''' are the Laskan military cavalry. Bloodbears are bred and trained for battle to not maul their riders as well as attack in battle. Their emblem is a crimson bear. Bloodbear Rider training results in many fatalities and peril, bringing a rider's relationship with his steed to be unusually close.
* Equipment: Riders are armored with steel plates of medium thickness as well as chain-mail, long, open-fronted coats, ornamental cartridge loops, black waist-coats, as well as fleece or fur hats. Their own steeds are armored in plates of much thicker constitution. Each rider wields dual sabers as well as a spear each. Dual-bladed battle axes and maces are popular ancestral weapons handed-down.
* Formation: Bloodbear Riders are assembled into groups of two, called a ''claw''. Five claws are a ''paw'' of ten riders, four paws are a set of ''legs'' of fifty riders and staff, and twenty legs are a single ''Ursa'' battalion of one-thousand-something riders and staff.

'''The Iron Men'''\\
Years ago, the mad Mechanic Rotwanov broke the code of his brethren by experimenting on live humans. Thousands of Laskans perished under his knife, while only a few hundred survived. The altered humans rebelled, and returned to Laskan society. Dubbed "the Iron Men" for their mechanical parts. Deemed unacceptable and unwelcome in their home, the Iron Men became drifters, until Charloi Staliserdtsa assembled them under a single banner, placing themselves on the front-lines of every battle, serving a nation that did not want them as expendable shields.

After several years of casualties and losses, the Iron Men were finally accepted, and they slowly rose into the offices of civil government as beloved heroes and rulers. And their reign was good.

But several bad years of famine and war have made the citizens lose their patience with them, and they have started to choose the alternative People's Mechanical Party over the Iron Men in elections recently.

'''''Notable Members:'''''
* ''Cainan Konstantin'' is the current Commissar of the Iron Men, one of the second generation. A product of an extremely-strict family and training program, Cainan is a strong, disciplined, self-controlled, and hard man, one who sees his subjects as both ethically, spiritually, and capability stunted, and pities them. Cainan saves his fury for only the enemies of Laska and rogue Mechanics, capable of showing mercy to all else. Cainan is an enormous, sinewy, and remarkably-dexterous man who wears his long red-brown hair tightly braided down his back, bearing scarred hands and glowing blue eyes. Cainan is a master boxer, skilled in with the long-range rifle, pistol, shield, and short sword, and bears a mechanical right hand that possesses superhuman strength and endurance. Cainan dresses in gold-trimmed red steel armor with a blue buff tunic.
* ''Charleroi Staliserdtsa'' is the founder of the Iron Men, the oldest surviving soldier. Charleroi is a very old soul, who although very kind and compassionate, finds it increasingly difficult to care about anything anymore. Charleroi is a tall, wiry man with wrinkled skin, yellow eyes, neatly-combed snowy-white hair and beard, and golden-trimmed silver metal articulate plates attached directly into his chest, arms, and calves. Charleroi is a skilled swordsman, a capable leader, possesses superhuman strength and endurance, and possesses two retractable long blades blades in his forearms. Charleroi dresses in a gold-trimmed purple robe and a golden crown-helmet.
* ''Davidu Gordovich'' - "The Golden Stag" - is the infantry commander of the Iron Men, and one of the most decorated of their number. The role of commanding men does not suit Davidu, as he possesses a tremendous temper, a difficulty with associating with others, and a resistance to following orders. Davidu is also deeply bitter at being altered without his consent, longs for a life without strife, and drowns out his sorrows in battle and drink. This only serves to push him even further away from his goal. Despite his flaws, Davidu is a deeply loyal individual, with a strong sense of duty with his comrades despite his disliking them. Davidu is a tall, heavily-muscled man with a large chin, golden metal seared into his flesh at his arms, chest, and back, a glowing white right eye, and whitening brown hair. Davidu is a skilled fighter, trained in the use of a pole-arm, enhanced with superhuman strength, durability, and endurance in mind. In addition, Davidu is able to discharge high-voltage electrical energy from the large antlers on his gold-colored helmet (from which he takes his title) and fire bolts of steel from his altered polearm. As Davidu's parts constantly emit heat, he prefers not to wear an upper garment, instead wearing hard leather pants with a utility belt and metal utility sling over his shoulder.
* ''Josef Ridolman'' is the cavalry commander of the Iron Men. Josef is a stoic, quiet man, who finds it difficult to fit in with the rest of the Iron Men because he willingly volunteered to be altered to save his life. Because of this, he saw Rotwanov as his savior, and Josef actually tried to save the madman when the Iron Men attacked the Thunder Tower. In spite of his comrades mistrusting him, Josef nonetheless is very dedicated to the cause, willing to give his life for their ideals. Josef is a medium-sized man with short black hair, a scar over his left eye, and calloused hands. Josef is a very skilled horseman, a capable swordsman, and a decent shot with a rifle. Josef possesses servo-motors in his joints and a reinforced skeleton that grants him something above normal human strength. His tunic and gauntlets are red orichalcum-reinforced light steel plates, his helmet allows him to receive radio frequencies while the metal stub on what is left of his right forearm has the capability of interchangeable attachments, such as a saber arm, a rifle arm, and a hook attached to a retractable length of rope (that he uses to great effect in scaling obstacles or pulling riders off their steeds). In addition to his dark blue helmet and red metal and black riding suit, Josef usually wears a white scarf.
* ''Bryce Saganko'' also known as the "Tatterdemalion" is the archivist, historian, and annalist of the Iron Men. Bryce is an eccentric and slightly mentally-unhinged individual, seeing all things in the lens of an adventure story and people as characters in a play. Naturally, Bryce sees himself as either the hero of the story or the witness. Bryce is a tall, long-limbed man with pale skin, long black hair, pale glass-like eyes, a sharp nose, and pale, corpse-like skin. Bryce is enhanced with superhuman strength and endurance, able to move at great speeds, leap great distances, and contort into inhuman shapes. Bryce is a skilled swordsman with both his rapier and his longsword (he carries both), trained in stealth, a skilled horseman, an inspired showman, and a gifted writer and composer. Bryce bears an orichalcum rapier with a stained-glass hilt, a black-bladed longsword with a hilt in the shape of a bat, black-enameled stained glass-decorated steel body armor and helmet (with blue lenses), a white buff coat, a whip, and a cloak made of the tattered rags of the flags of defeated Iron Men foes.

'''''The Floridaen Triple Federation'''''\\
Floridae is not a true nation; rather, it is composed of several divided city-states, with three capitals. The Federation is a conglomeration of three tribes, the Mesheeka, the Mayu, and the Incor. The Mesheeka are the warrior caste, and have an extensive astronomy and astrology culture. The Mayu are the scholar caste, and have also serve as theologists and philosophers. The Incor are the worker caste, and focus on farming and food production. Caste restrictions are not particularly rigid, as any may transfer by finding a family to adopt them. \\
Alongside the triumviate of Federation, there are many otherr smaller tribes vying for power. One of the largest are the Olmau tribe (and most dedicated petitioners of equal status in the government), who are builders of earthen mound cities and experts of earth-works, the ground, trench warfare, and seismic quakes.

'''Capital:''' \\
'''Trade:''' Floridaen sheltered fields and plateau crops include maize, beans, squash, amaranth, tomatoes, and chili peppers. \\
'''Government:''' \\
'''Geographical features:''' Floridae has many jungles, all of them teeming with life. A jungle by itself seems like a living thing; everywhere there are insects, birds, vines, trees, and flowers, with plants chaotically growing next to, amongst, and within each other. All manner of wind-swept trees and creatures make the jungles full of sound and noise, some near, some far. Experienced denizens may pay attention to the mere levels of sound to understand the surroundings; if it is relatively quiet, it is because there is a big predator in the area alone. The rest of the jungle would go on whistling, rustling, shrieking, screeching, bellowing, buzzing, howling, spitting, and swaying. Movement through jungles is extremely difficult. \\
There are plants at every inch, hanging vines that smack people in the face or trip them, undergrowth bunching that requires hacking, roots and bumps sticking out of the ground, and hunting animals. Jungles are enormous, and the largest jungle is the ''Mara'verde'', the Green Sea. Like all jungles, Mara'verde are like oceans or deserts, able to swallow cities without any sign, overturn pillars with vines, and grow over everything with plants. During the non-raining seasons, the heat is crippling, water is scarce, and animals are hungry, restless, and agitated. The raining seasons of Floridae are the exact opposite, being torrents of hard, heavy, constant, torrents of water that get in everything, are liable to flood, and tend turn cleared paths into animal escape routes or just become unable to travel due to mud.\\
'''Religion:''' At the center of Floridaen religion are three gods, who constantly sacrifice themselves for the sake of humanity. Qetsal the Winged Leopard who is the sun, wind, and instils knowledge is constantly suffering from amnesia and re-learning what he has to for the ignorance of the Mayu. Tezkatli the Mirror Panther that is the night, chaos, makes war and cares for slaves is constantly dying in battle and coming back to life so that the passions of man may be stimulated. There are mock-wars staged at times, to placate Tezkatl's sacrifice. And Shepah-Tek the Golden Puma that is the spring, the grain-seed, and loves gold and hearts is constantly bleeding his own blood to keep the infernal machines deep in the earth well-oiled and maintained, that the earth might turn and the grain might grow.\\
The Mesheeka also believe that the stars are the spirits of dead heroes, and choose battle tactics, formation, and strategy through astrology. \\
'''Culture and Customs:''' Floridaens leave their dead out for the birds to pick clean as a funeral custom. They also tend to carve and hew sculptures of stone over other things, as it lasts much longer in such humidity than a painting. Floridaens utilize sword-clubs, which are thick bludgeons with blades of glass, metal, or obsidian slotted within, making a weapon that is easily maintained. Floridaen fashion include feathered hats, turquoise and gold jewelry, as well as geometrically-patterned light pants, shirts, vests, and loin-cloths. Chewing coca leaves are legal. Basketball is a very popular sport. Mosswine is also a popular beverage distilled from preserved moss. Mosswine's peculiar brewing process produces a scent that makes it very attractive to pigs.

'''Main army:''' The '''Floridaen Tri-Guard''' is the Federation's main infantry, comprised equally of troopers from all three tribes.
* Equipment: The Tri-Guard commonly use glass or metal sword-clubs, and wear light cotton shirts, leather pants, and metal breastplates. Mayu are signified by an emblem of a yellow book, Mesheeka by a red sword, and Incor by a golden-threaded wheat-stalk on a black circle.
* Formation:
* Tactics:

'''Special Units:''' The '''Eagle Knights''' are composed exclusively of Mayu officers,
* Equipment: Eagle Knights are lightly armored, bearing light spears, javelins, and thin swords in addition to bows and arrows. All Eagle Knights have a light gliding apparatus, which allows them to swoop from tree-to-tree or lift with rising heat thermals.
* Formation:
* Tactics:

'''Special Units:''' The '''Corn Stalkers''' are composed exclusively of Incor, and are the assassins and scouts.
* Equipment: Corn Stalkers wear camoflage uniforms, full-face masks, and bear short swords and crossbows.

'''''Notable Floridaens:'''''
* ''Linder Cachon'' - "The Panther's Head" - of the Mesheeka was the foremost drill and martial arts instructor of the Floridean Tri-Guard, before joining the Black Star Company. Linder is a tall, lean man, with sinewy limbs, cropped black hair, a mustache and goatee, bright eyes, and a head shaped somewhat like a panther's (which earned him the nickname "Panther Head"). Linder is a quiet, reserved man with sharp predatory instincts, a strong sense of honor and loyalty, and a slight intolerance for fools. Linder is skilled with a long sword and a moon-blade halberd, and is also a trained rider. Linder usually wears the traditional Mesheeka officer uniform of a green jacket and pants, with a red shirt and steel armor plates on the forearms and legs.

'''Main army:''' The ''Lost Legions'' are the main fighting force of Franco, consisting of ''Revenants'' and living soldiers and staff. Revenants are the reanimated corpses of honored dead soldiers, treated to a mixture of mechanical enhancement surgery, chemical bathing, and electrical wiring. The living legionnaires themselves are a mix of foreigners, political refuges, the heart-broken, ancestor cultists, and criminals, as enlisting in the very dangerous legions grants its soldiers with several protections from the law.

Deux is a very proud and arrogant man, extremely bitter at being unwelcome in the Ruan household and cast out by his older brother. Xavier is a trained assassin and swimmer, skilled with a sword, a rifle, and an oar, has the ability to move very quietly, and as a sergeant in the Legion is a capable leader.
* ''Cing St. Ruan'' is the second-born runaway scion of the habour mortuary aristocracy Ruan Clan. Cing has eyes resembling bells, light corpse-like skin, weedy black hair, arms like iron staffs and a tattoo of a leopard on his chest. Cing has been treated to an experimental chemical bath and serum treatment, which causes part of his body to die and toughen, making his wrists, chest, and calves into natural armor. Cing is not skilled in any weapon at all, but makes up for his lack of proficiency with ferocious enthusiasm, and is a capable swimmer.
* ''Sept St. Ruan'' is the second-born runaway scion of the habour mortuary aristocracy Ruan Clan, and is dead. Sept has bulging all-white eyes, weed-like long black hair, and dark patches on his skin that makes him seem as though he is a bronze statue. '''''The Syndicate:'''''
The Syndicate is the rising conglomeration of the various remnants gangs, mobs, and cartels of Fargo, brought under Boaz Whittaker's control during the last days of Elias' purges of the criminal element. As a relatively-young organization, the Syndicate is growing and lacking in funds, leading them to try their hands at a variety of criminal activities such as extortion, fraud, inside trading, illegal gambling, art theft, bank robbery, burglary, embezzlement, boot-legging liquor, smuggling, loan-sharking, contract assassination, blackmail, arms trafficking, protection rackets, money corruption, political corruption, retaining monopolies of construction and other industries, bid-rigging, trade of artifacts, and trade of the Driver drug.
* ''Boaz Whittaker'' - also known as the Godfather of Bones - is the current kingpin of organized crime in Fargo, the head of the Syndicate. Formerly, Boaz was tall, tanned, and handsome, with brown hair and light blue eyes. Now, a Mechanic's experiment with reanimation has left him with a corpse-like appearance with shriveled gray-black skin, a skull-like head with no hair, browned teeth, and burning white eyes. He lacks the senses of touch, pain, or taste, and being a former hedonist, channels his quiet rage over his loss of his senses to his thoughts of conquest, and is a ruthless and hard man, with his own ideas of honor. Boaz retains his sense of smell, and is a scent connoisseur and hedonist. Boaz is strong enough to punch large holes in concrete, durable enough to be bulletproof, and has the ability to manipulate his bone structure that he uses to fire four Rapid-Rifles with his prehensile rib-cage or grow claws from his fingers, and is a good shot with his two pistols. Boaz commonly wears an expensive suit of pinstripe brown with matching hat and silk white shirts.
* ''Jerry Kierkegaard'' is Boaz's right-hand-man and the technology force in the Syndicate. Jerry is a tall, thin, handsome man with a light-green tint in his pale skin, long fingers, and metallic implants in his hands, shoulder-blades and legs. Jerry is a suave, charming person with a salesman's manner, a great love for his city, a moral code he will not violate, and a strong sense of honor. Jerry has developed not only the mega-stills that the Syndicate uses in their boot-legging operations but also the Bone Driver drug delivery system. Jerry also uses a flight harness that allows him to fly at supersonic speeds, boots that enable running at extremely fast paces, a long sword made of orichalcum, a pair of sunglasses with an intricate reaction system, as well as gauntlets that fire bolts of energy and enhance strength. Jerry usually wears an ashen-grey suit with a white cravat with a red spot.
* ''Bonnett and Cleo Burrow''
* ''Karla "Ma" Baker'' [[spoiler:killer cook alchemist chemist transhumanist Ma Barker]]
* ''Ed "Gunner" Kerry'' is the former leader of the Iron Legion gang of bank-robbers, now Boaz Whittaker's senior enforcer. Ed is a medium-sized squat man of stout stature, muscular arms, balding yellow hair, and cloudy brown eyes. Ed is a relatively-normal person, who sees his brutal work as honest and the men under his command as employees, and the development of his own armor as a challenge. Ed is a skilled inventor, having developed powered armor with enhanced strength gauntlets and dual altered Rapid-Rifles on the hips and gauntlets. It is durable enough to endure gunfire to a great degree.
* ''Alan "Fear" Fyar'' is another enforcer for the Syndicate, specializing in terrorizing, fear, and torture. '''''The Four'''''\\
These are the people who pull the political strings behind the scenes, who have a vision of a united world.
* ''Zakeus Vipre'' is a sycophant, flatterer, and manipulator. Zakeus is a young man with black hair, a thin face, and pale skin. Zakeus always wears rich, expensive clothes (usually a delicate black suit with gold embroidery), with bracers behind the sleeves. Zakeus is fast, agile, a practitioner of the mundane Silent Snake Style, can launch razor taser-wires at his enemies, and possesses two small flamethrowers in his bracers. Zakeus manipulates his charge through the sadness of losing his beloved.
* ''Hieronymus Caristle'' is a mentor-Mechanic of the Concordance, and the immensely-powerful, technical-minded member of The Five. Hieronymus has developed an artificial spine that absorbs and discharges sunlight in the form of blasts through his golden staff, form yellow force-fields, enhance his strength, durability, and speed, generate a deflector field, and detach itself from its host to form a robotic dragonfly. While in the dragonfly mode, the spine gives him a second pair of eyes, the ability to fly, a burning stinger, and the ability to fight in tandem with its master. Hieronymus is a merry, cheerful, and studious atheist-teacher, with a touch of righteous fury with regards to his students' safety. Hieronymus has a fierce rivalry with Nicholas Uotan, one that stretches many, many years in the past. Hieronymus resembles a well-aged ninety-year-old man with neat white hair and bear, wiry muscles, a brass breastplate fused into his chest, and his dragonfly-spine is silver chased with gold, with amber-faceted eyes and shimmering yellow wings.
* ''Brutus "Infernal" Bullock'' is the chief Concordance demagogue and martial artist. Brutus is a practitioner of the Vitriol Torment Style, making him monstrously strong, durable, and uses acid as a weapon. Brutus is a gentle giant despite his monstrous appearance, very dedicated and persuasive. Brutus is forty-two years old, is around eight feet tall, possessing bulging muscles, sickly green hair speckled with brass, tarnished silver eyes, and wears a light brown toga.

'''Occupations'''\\
'''Constables''' are the men-in-black, the secret police, and the cog-agents in the great machine that is the Concordance. They censor "sensitive information", keep secrets, eliminate threats, and ensure that the trouble-free Concordance stays that way. Their reputation for cold-blooded torture is undeserved, as the agency has a policy of spinning the stories to frighten their criminals. All Constables are suited in the same style of suit, which is color-coded for division distinction and weaved with bulletproof fibers. They also carry special will-breaking badges, meant to assert instant authority.

'''''Notable Constables:'''''
* ''Abel Slade'' is a cheerful and amiable psychopath. He is skilled with a pistol, uses two large double-bladed battle-axes, and has a foot-long blade concealed in his sleeves. Abel sports long blond hair, green eyes, tall, lithe, willowy, and always smiles. Brilliant, sadistic, and delighting in the pain of others, Abel murdered his parents when he was fifteen and has not stopped killing since. His skill in manipulating others has allowed him not only to evade capture but to gain a respected reputation as a Constable.
* ''Jeffrey Clay'' is an old soldier and the first Constable.

'''''Notable Concordat:'''''
* ''Malcolm Viceroy'', Mechanic Concordat advisor to ____, and an unwitting puppet in The Five's schemes. Malcolm has the standard abilities of energy blasts and force fields, and in addition commands a robotic swarm. Young, slightly clumsy, and patient, Malcolm is intelligent and somewhat introverted, preferring to deal with practical problems than personal ones. Malcolm is of medium height, has purple eyes and a long, dark red pony-tail, round, clear crystals embedded in his neck and the back of his hands, and wears a purple-and-blue coat-suit as well as rectangular glasses.
* ''Manuel Quinn'', known as "The Puppeteer", is a masked, enigmatic Mechanic who specializes in robotics and disguise. He excels at building life-like puppets that resemble humans to a great degree. His other robotic puppets are works of art nonetheless, but he has no qualms at implementing them in his martial arts skills, controlling them through telekinetic strings generated from his fingers, which are helped with augmetics in his body that enhance his strength and speed. His puppets include a copy of himself, a metallic giant with large fists, a four-armed gunslinger, a harlequin swordsman, and a griffin steed.

* ''Cornelius Centre'' is the newly-made general of the Concordance's military. Cornelius is a compassionate, temperate and kind man, devoted to his family.

'''Unaffiliated'''\\
These individuals and groups have no affiliation to any cause whatsoever, having not yet decided.

* ''Lord Gene Mairon'', known as "The Iron Brand", is a Mechanic-emperor of a previous age. After the ''Severing'', the globe was locked in eternal conflict. Gene Mairon conquered and united the world under his banner, and after many years of relative peace, Gene realized that his empire did more harm than good, as it slowly rotted in corruption and bureaucratic disability. Dissolving and dividing his empire into ten parts, Mairon then disappeared from the face of the earth for thousands of years. When last seen, Mairon existed only as an automata head, implanted into an armored cyborg body. The armored body is of a polished black sheen, super-humanly strong, fast, indestructible, able to create and control tendrils and spikes, fire green energy bolts, and wield an impossibly-long curved sword of the same material and hue that is able to channel heat to cut through anything. Even as a head, Gene is an impressive figure, of tanned skin, a large white beard, and red eyes flecked with gold. Gene Mairon is a little stoic when working on projects or interacting with people, but tends to become very hot-headed, shout very loudly, and act very dramatically during combat.
** The ''Black Tower'' is Gene Mairon's personal study, tomb, laboratory, warehouse, factory, observatory, and war machine. It also possesses an open chamber, which contains a vast journal, within which history as penned by Mairon is written on on orichalcum pages. It's location is underground, near the city-state of Knox, incidentally within one of their archeology digs. The Black Tower manufactures Gene's own automatons, is able to move of its own accord, and transforms into a giant robot. In the giant robot form, the Black Tower resembles Mairon's personal armor lined with red, wields a large-scaled version of Mairon's own sword, and possesses many of the same capabilities in a much larger scale, save for a round shield that retracts and fans out of the left arm.

'''The Band'''\\
A musical ensemble of empowered and gifted individuals who enlisted as contacts of the Law, many of whom are veterans of the Sword-and-the-Ring incident.
* ''Guinevere "Gwen" Cannon'' is a traveling musician Mechanic doctor. Gwen is very perceptive, compassionate, kind, courageous, quiet, persuading, and has a slight obsession with symmetry. She has devised force field necklaces, kinetic knock-back fields, invigorating tonics, enhanced sensors, and her backpack contains many mechanical arms, tendrils, tentacles, and can project hard-light hands which she uses to be a single string quartet (two violins, a viola, and a cello) or multitask in surgery. Gwen sports short black hair, green eyes, fair skin, a single black gem in her forehead, and wears a simple white-and-red dress with a lotus pin.
* ''Sirtyr'' was one half of the musician duo Sirtyr and Mauser before joining the Band. Sirtyr is a young Giant, around fifteen feet tall, with hair like red maple leaves, clay-baked orange skin, charred coal tattoos in the shape of arrows, and eyes of shattered turquoise. Sirtyr is quiet, attentive, and because of being claustrophobic, has a bit of wanderlust and a love of open spaces. Sirtyr is as strong as any Giant, faster than most, wields a gigantic saber that can channel large amounts of heat and burst into flames, and is a skilled crafter, a talented musician with a banjo, and a good lyricist. Sirtyr will lose a hand in the battle to come.

!!'''Giants'''
'''Giants''' are thirty-to-fifty feet tall humanoids of immense strength and durability, formed from an amalgamation of organic matter, complex minerals, and held together by psychic energy. Giant hair is actually some kind of strong moss, and their eyes appear to be made of mica.\\
Giants are able to consume minerals and rocks, but find it distasteful, and prefer the flavors of meat and grains. \\
Giants are extremely long-lived, surviving well over a hundred thousand years before returning to basic rock.

Their population numbers are limited to a mere thousand.

All Giants live solitary lives, but most also enjoy the frequent company of others, be they Giant or otherwise. Most Giants enjoy collecting and hoarding objects - from jewels and minerals, to wooden toys and tools, to weapons and armaments - constantly gifting, buying, and trading. Giants usually live in or near mountains. This is because mountainous regions have easy access to minerals and materials, caves are durable and easy to widen, and the area is quiet and isolated.

The odd Giant with an economic and mathematical mind often chooses the occupation of a banker. Giants possess a refinement of motor control and object manipulation comparable to humans, which allows them to make highly-prized items such as clocks, complex machines, and weapons. The common Giant occupations are mercenaries, crafters, or blacksmiths. The most gifted and learned of Giants are all three and also serve as archeologists, and highly-revered.

Giants favor melee weapons over ranged ones, but some do build siege weapons for paying armies.

Giants reproduce (a very rare occurrence) by ''chiseling''. This occurs by obtaining a special mineral and finding an opposite-sex mate. In a special ceremony, both strike once with their tools at the mineral, and a young giant is formed, immature and encrusted with rock. Over time, the parents gradually teach the child lessons and remove the impurities carefully.

'''Cultures and Customs:''' Giants are usually given simple one-to-two syllable names. Giants meet every once a year in the Insys mega-mountains, where they exchange news, talk, gossip, play games, feast, and re-enact their greatest stories. The festival is known as ''The Long Day''. \\
Giants enjoy liquor of all kinds. Their way of intoxication, however, only results in drowsiness before collapsing asleep. It is considered good manners not to stand above anything or anyone before partaking in liquor. \\
Many giants wear beards or have some sort of facial hair, but this is only fashion and personal taste.

!!'''The Engelim'''
The '''Engelim''' are winged humanoids, between six-to-eight feet tall. Engels have are a very varied appearance, from a thousand myriad combinations of skin color and patterns to hexagonal scales, from wings of brass clockwork to flippers of mud, from pointed ears to a entire lack thereof, from rainbow-hued hair to feathered plumes, from spiral horns to antennae, from blank white eyes to glowing dotted ones. Compared to humans, Engelim frames are longer, lither, slimmer, with cleaner limbs.

Engelim think, move, and react about twice as fast as humans, which results in inhuman grace, sinuous dexterity, highly-flung tempers and passions, and life-spans of a mere fifty years. This has led them to be compared to mayflies.\\
Other Engelim abilities common to all include low-level telekinesis, flight, and advanced healing. Many others have power unique to all, such as one possessing lightning generation and another with empathy. Training in these talents will make them increase their potency. Engelim have perfect memories, and thus always remember what something was like the first time around, making them much more emotional and prone to keeping grudges for long periods of time.\\
All Engelim are sterile, but reproduce through the means of the '''Genesiac Engine''', which creates shapeless husks of Engel young, which are adopted or assigned to parents, before developing into an adult. The Engelim do not properly understand how the Genesiac Engine works, and possess only enough understanding to maintain and repair it.

Engel technology is highly advanced, but new discoveries have not been made for the past few hundred years. Still, it is capable of combining matter, producing large amounts of power, and channeling psychic energy. The aesthetics are sleek and organic, as if grown.

Engelim favor melee weapons as well as bows. Although Engelim might shun typical spark powder firearms, they make exceptions for guns that utilize other kinds of effects such as electricity or gusts of wind. \\
The most accomplished Engelim warriors wield psyblades, four-foot-long swords that channel psychic energy, are able to cut through almost anything, and induce mental shocks on living beings.

Engel sometimes become sky-pirates.

When Engelim live near or with humans, they usually resemble the human stereotype of remittance men: vain and arrogant upper-crust fools who have been sent away by their elders, with no prospect of inheritance and social climbing, sent off to the human nations to get them out of the way with a small allowance, not sufficient to support them in the way they are accustomed to. As such, they have an aversion to manual labor and vent their frustrations on drink, whoring, crime, and other trouble-making. The influence they have with their powerful families back home prevents punishment without retribution.

'''Religion:'''

'''Culture and Customs:''' Murder is defined to the Engelim as an unprovoked attack on another Engel who cannot fight back. Everything else from killing for insults, duels, and vengeance, is legal and acceptable. The Engelim also do not have permanent marriages, preferring to skip from lover to lover without attachments. The Engelim ruler, known as the ''Lord'', wears as a symbol of authority known as the ''Halo'', a crown that is psychic in nature, adjusting to the needs of the wearer. On one's head it might be loops of golden leaves, in another a hovering wheel of glowing circuitry. In its default form, it is a ring of white light. \\
One of the most common surnames is -El. Others include -Ei, -Mei, -Dei, -Fei, -Fon, and -Thron.

!!'''The Sauri'''
'''Sauri''' are between five-to-nine feet tall humanoid reptiles, with very distinct human heads, scaled skins, and long tails. \\
Sauri are extremely intelligent, strong, durable, and possess psychic power and control beyond any other race. Each and every member of the Sauri race is a scholar and a warrior, but differ in many different types and forms of study. Over the course of their very long lives, Sauri change a great deal in appearance, ideas, personality, and abilities. A young reptile will be nearly unrecognizable when compared to their much older self.

There are six breeds of Sauri;
* The '''Deinon''' are raptor-like, fast, strong, lithe, and cunning carnivores. They possess nimble hands with three fingers and an sickle-like claw, small-yet-sharp teeth, and a feathered tail. Deinon usually find themselves drawn toward the military.
* The '''Apato''' are very tall long-necked herbivores, with square heads, and powerful round pillar-like feet and hands. Apato are drawn towards occupations of social interaction, such as merchants or diplomats.
* The '''Tricera''' are gigantic leaf-eaters. They have two cone-horns above their eyes, a beak, a round bony crest, a spur on the nose, as well as a stocky body. Tricera are brawlers, and use charging attacks on their opponents.
* The '''Iguans''' are large-bodied leaf-eating Sauri, with thick hides, a duck-like bill, hoofed feet, and a razor-sharp blade on their thumbs. Iguans usually are occupied with crafting and smithing.
* The '''Stegrons''' are bulky herders, with interlocking sharp plates, a tail with four spikes, and bone-toes. The bone plates are able to shift, armoring the Stegron's body or extending them and using them as blades. Because of this, Stegrons train themselves to be fighters and martial artists.
* The '''Pterans''' are tall, bird-like reptiles, with leathery wings lined along their arms and stretching past their elongated fourth finger, a long beak-like muzzle, a conical crest, small sharp teeth, and a long, thin tail. Pterans choose work that allows them freedom to fly, usually scouts and explorers.

Sauri clone and use larger versions of the six breeds as non-sentient pack animals. Other races have learned to breed these servile creatures as well. They are named ''raptors'' (Deinon), ''brontoes'' (Apato), ''cerato'' (Tricera), ''adons'' (Iguan), ''thago'' (Stegron), and ''pterodak'' (Pteran).

Each Sauros also follows a path of psychic discipline;
* '''The Way of the Mind's Fire''' allows telepathy and pyrokinesis.
* '''The Way of the Moving Winds''' teaches telekinesis and wind control.
* '''The Way of the Sensing Earth''' instructs clairvoyance and control over earth.
* '''The Way of the Flowing Waters''' advises water control and intangibility.
* '''The Way of the Willing Wood''' imbues manipulation over living tissue and control over plants.
* '''The Way of the Morphing Metal''' imparts transformation into metal and immunity to psychic abilities. Unlike other paths, Wayfarers of the Morphing Metal must actually eat metals in order to control their abilities, and feed on a diet of many different metals to produce complex alloys.
Sauri who follow the 'way' are known as ''''wayfarers''''. They introduce themselves in the order of 'name', 'breed', and 'path'.\\
Sauri enjoy stretching the limits of their powers and finding new ways to use them. Sauri of over a hundred years of age are often respected as learned Wayfarers, and asked to tutor students in their abilities as well as teaching them to find their own tricks.

Of all the Wayfarers, Metal Wayfarers are the least trusted of any race, due to their strength, near-invulnerability, psychic resistance, and unknowing callous behavior. This reputation is only partially deserving.

There are only three hundred Sauri in existence at any given time.

The '''Reptils''' serve the Sauri in building, hunting, and fighting. Reptils resemble lizards, with green-hued scaled skin, dexterous hands, claws, and black eyes. Cloned and altered from Sauri DNA, they cannot possibly possess the psionic powers of their progenitors. Reptils are slightly stronger, faster, durable, and have better senses than most humans. Reptil and human relations are quite cordial, and it is not uncommon to see Reptils in big cities making their living.

'''Culture and Customs:''' 'Sauros' might be singular and 'Sauri' might be plural, but most other races neglect the proper vocabulary. The Sauri use their abilities to the utmost degree, making sculptures with water, instruments out of metal, or dancing with gouts of flame.

'''''Notable Sauri:'''''
* ''Sullivor'', Pteran knife dancer, Wayfarer of the Moving Winds. Sullivor is calm, wise, and compassionate, but lacks in subtlety or craftiness. Sullivor has sky-blue skin, white feathers, eyes like chips of ice, and wears light armor. He serves as a diplomat, wields a light curved knife with on a chain controlled telekinetically as well as a heavier straight dagger with a parrying guard, and has the ability to cast storms.
* ''Firnasè'', Deinon claw-striker, Wayfarer of the Mind's Fire. Firnasè is smart, young, passionate, and impulsive. Although intelligent, Firnasè tends to speak too quickly for her mind to process, using forgotten metaphors, similes that are shaped like themselves, unconventional adjectal-noun structures ("the exploding-loud-object"), and constant synonyms of the word "thing." Her flames are red, her eyes are like sparks, she possesses a rock-and-lava-like appearance, and wears simple clothing and armor as well as special lenses that resemble spectacles that can illuminate, magnify, and record information. Firnasè is training to be an archeologist and historian, and has the ability to propel herself in the air with blasts of flame.
* ''General Gry'', Deinon sword-master, Wayfarer of the Mind's Fire. Gry is xenophobic, dedicated, ambitious, and ruthlessly cunning. Gry's flames are blue, his skin is ash-grey, and eyes like burning coals, and wears magnificent steel and orichalcum armor to go with his two-handed steel and orichalcum great-sword. Gry also has the ability to emit large amounts of heat from his body.
* ''Liosdavin'', Apato lancer, Wayfarer of Willing Wood. He is simple, patient, brilliant, kind, eccentric, absent-minded, air-headed, and unknowingly spiritual in his outlook of life. Liosdavin loves painting and brushes and paper, unlike his contemporaries who use the elements. Liosdavin has designed everything from everyday tools to devastating war machines to advanced cogitators, all as a happy hobby in his sketchbook. Liosdavin likes dragons and cats, and keeps many pets. \\
Liosdavin is of medium height, has very light green skin, cloud-like beard and hair laced with sparks, glassy blue eyes, a large nose, and wears a simple green-and-white robe
* ''Boserius'', Tricera claw-striker, Wayfarer of the Mind's Fire. Boserius is a strong, determined being, with fragments of pride and pieces of a bad temper. Boserius was once a powerful warlord, but, ashamed of his past, forsook his 'wicked' ways to become a monk. Boserius has yellow flames, faded gold skin, red eyes, a red crest, a spiraling spur, and is extremely large and strong. Boserius also learned the ability to make bombs with his fire, and wears black robes with white trimming as well as large ashwood beads.
* ''Ankylo'', Stegron master martial artist, Wayfarer of the Morphing Metal. Ankylo is a kind old man that although wizened by a lifetime of mistakes, still possesses a reckless and arrogant streak. Ankylo was an adventuring martial artist, who worked many times with Boserius before retiring and becoming the foremost Sauri martial arts instructor. Ankylo has bronze-like skin, golden blade-plates, intricately-carved tail-spikes, iron-capped bone-toes, and wears a Salamander buff-coat with orichalcum plating. Ankylo is a practitioner of the Ancient Engines style, favoring the Drill and Excavator Forms.

!!'''The Gophi'''
'''Gophi''' are three-to-five feet tall humanoids similar in ability and appearance to rodents and other small mammals. All Gophi are naturally fast, agile, color-blind, have sharp senses of smell, with bushy thick hair on their bodies, and whatever bestial features that they share with the animals they resemble. Gophi also have the ability to form psychic links with animals, allowing them to communicate with said animal, mentally dominate (although this is extremely physically draining), and see through said animal's eyes. which they use in a variety of ways. Although the idea to take predatory animals such as wolves and eagles as bonded creatures seems to be attractive, such impressive carnivores - although good in combat - only have so much use. Gophi instead bond with easier-to-manage creatures, such as pigs, ravens, dogs, and rats.\\
The population numbers of Gophi are many, far outnumbering humans by at least eight times.

Gophi species include:
* ''Rats'' (cunning, intelligent),
* ''Squirrels'' (hyperactive, suited to forests),
* ''Beavers'' (industrious, skilled in water works),
* ''Weasels'' (sneaky, scheming),
* ''Mice'' (skittish, cowardly),
* ''Hedgehogs'' (stubborn, firm),
* ''Hamsters'' (energetic, big eaters),
* ''Chipmunks'' (impulsive, easily frightened),
* ''Moles'' (inventive, technically minded),
* ''Prairie Dogs'' (stands ground, stubborn),
* ''Otters'' (playful, impulsive),
* ''Rabbits'' (fast thinkers, tricksters),
* ''Raccoons'' (scruffy, sly),
* ''Porcupines'' (fearless, callous),
* ''Bats'' (eccentric, curious),
* ''Pangolins'' (boisterous, loud),
* ''Skunks'' (fearless, soft-hearted),
* ''Capybaras'' (easy-going, lazy),
* ''Kangaroos'' (excitable, laid-back),
* ''Lemmings'' (strong sense of duty, go-getter),
* ''Mongooses'' (fearless, foolhardy),
* ''Anteaters'' (curious, reserved), and
* ''Wombats'' (sardonic, sarcastic).
Gophi are nicknamed "''Varmints''" by many humans behind their backs.

Gophi take on many different occupations, from scavengers and archeologists to fungus farmers and hunters, from thieves to herders, and even assassins.

Many Gophi live in vast underground networked tunnels, called ''Barrows''. Hundreds of thousands of Gophi may take comfortable residence in a single Barrow at any given time. Barrows reach from cottages in the surface all the way down deep into Terra's mantle. What looks like a very small village is a grand metropolis of millions of Gophi, all of them deep underground. Some others are nomadic, living in small groups, building small shelters, and leaving to find another. Gophi also establish towns in trees, connected by robe bridges, ladders, and pulleys. Many people don't even ''know'' that their woods are inhabited.\\
In any case, Gophi settlements interact with each other through the use of trained birds, carrying messages and information.

'''Culture and Customs:''' Gophi clothing is simple and made for utility, but incorporate extremely-complex geometric pattern decorations on their sleeve-cuffs and pant hems with stitching or dyeing. Being mostly color-blind, Gophi do not paint, but instead use smell-samplings and intricate sculptures of a many different things with highly varied textures. The Gophi have an inverse system of honor dueling; the object is not to fight, and the first to strike loses. \\
Gophi have rather peculiar views of romance. They mate, of course, but there must be legally-binding contracts, forms, statements, and the rest of the paperwork filled out beforehand. The only measure of sentimentality is in their marriage proposals, which usually goes along the lines of "My darling, my earth-blossom, let us enter into a binding legal contract together for ten-to-fifteen years, as determined by Sub-Paragraph 12, Section K, Book 13." Old Gophi enter into contracts with others their age for the rest of their lives, taking care of one another until they perish.\\
Clearly, Gophi are very practical.

'''''Acreshire'''''

'''Location:''' \\
'''Geographical features:''' \\
Withi Acreshire is the ''Under-Tower'', a colossal cavern designed by the most brilliant of Gophi architects. It is a thousand meters high and a hundred meters wide, carved within are thousands and thousands of shelves, housed within are sculptures. The works are accessible by a system of rope elevators, designed to let the viewers touch the objects. Many shelves still sit empty. \\
'''Trade:'''

'''Militia:''' '''Tunnelers Seventeen''' are Acreshire's defenders. Their ranks are divided into

'''''Notable Gophi:'''''
* ''Polbe'' is the Barrow-Boss of Acreshire, a Gophi of Porcupine and Badger descent. Polbe is extremely strong and fast, a master of the mundane Thousand-Spine Style, utilizing his spines, teeth, claws, and bulk. Polbe is a no-nonsense, stoic, cigar-chomping raging cynic, ready to break apart those who threaten the Barrow's safety. Every morning Polbe climbs to the top of the oldest and tallest tree he can find, to commune with the spirits, according to his grandchildren. The truth was, the top of that tree is the only place his wife would let him smoke. Polbe, like all other Badgers and Porcupines, has black-and-white fur patterns silvering with age, yellow eyes, and white spines. Wearing a white shirt, suspenders, brown pinstripe pants, and constantly smoking a cigar, Polbe resembles a city newspaper editor more than a town leader.
* ''Usajim'' is the chief of security of Acreshire, a grey rabbit. Usajim is extremely fast and agile, a master of the Moon Thumper Sword Style of mundane martial arts, utilizing extremely swift movements with deliberate and well-thought-out strikes against much larger opponents. Usajim is a quiet, collected, and humble person, with a strong sense of honor and duty, and an obligation to spread peace and harmony wherever he goes. Usajim is around three feet tall, with silver-grey fur, scarred ears, a weathered face, red eyes, and a moon mark in black on his forehead. Wearing a loose blue tunic with baggy black pants, Usajim resembles a farmer more than a fighter were it not for his four-foot-long slashing sword tied to his belt.
* ''Ruper'' is the leader of the Acreshire Fightin' Chefs Milita, a brown rat. Ruper is skilled with a sword and pistol, is a capable leader, and is adept in the culinary arts. A raging cynic, Ruper is the sort of person who expects the worse and tries to go over where things are bad and put a stop to it, preferably by blade, but also possesses strong feelings of duty and honor, having been entertained in his youth with stories of chivalrous soldiers and virtuous fighters. Ruper is three feet and one inches tall, with mud-brown fur, black eyes, and a scar right below his eye. He dresses simply, in a felt hat and wire vest of belts that hold a variety of things.
* ''Micko'' is Ruper's younger brother, a black mouse. Ruper is an ineffectual soldier, a nervous wreck, and does not know how to hold a sword properly.

!!'''Automata'''
The '''Automatics''' are the cybernetic soldiers built to serve Acheron Ferron, the Silver Lord. Constructed from the bodies of the dead from all humanoid races with advanced metal and cybernetics, they serve his goal for an ordered and clockwork world.

'''Acheron Ferron''', the Silver Lord was a Mechanic warlord from the Noon Age. Suffering indirect defeat from Gene Mairon, Acheron assembled a new means of building an army, by means of reanimating and rebuilding corpses with cyborg parts. Acheron is a firm believer in order, and seeks to convert most people into Automatics that they might be under his control and live measured, uncomplicated, clockwork existences. \\
Acheron has two-inch thick platinum-bronze plates seared into his flesh, making him nearly invulnerable, devastatingly strong, and allowing him to conduct and control electricity. Over his head is a stained-glass helmet, holding a video screen that allows him to see through the optical sensors of every single Automatic.

The ''Foundry'' is Acheron's fortress-factory, the size of a large cathedral. In the Foundry, corpses of all races are rebuilt and re-fitted with cybernetic parts to serve in his army. The Foundry is also able to transform into a giant robot, sporting armor well over a meter thick, using a large array of sparker-cannons as well as two gigantic chainsaw-sabers. It is controlled externally by Acheron's remote control device.

'''Automata troops'''

'''Fogmen''' are the infantry of the Automata. Built from the bodies of humans, the Fogmen are so named because of the smoke that is expelled from the vents in their body. Armed with a rifle that fires sparkling blue bolts, a pistol that does the same, and a nearly-unbreakable saber, the Fogmen are a terror to behold on the battlefield in their dark gray greatcoats, heavy boots and gauntlets, and face-obscuring helmets. Fogmen cavalry ride mechanical spiders equipped with burst-guns and are quite fast.

'''Titans''' are the enormous war machines of the Automata.

'''Heralds''' are the air forces of the Automata. Built from the bodies of Engelim, the Heralds are so named for their scouting and spying roles, as well as their trumpets. Armed with a saber, bolting guns mounted on their arms, and trumpet-weapon that discharges sonic bursts, the Heralds strike from above to wrack havoc on their enemies in great-coat, armor, helmet, and metal wings.

'''Munitors''' are the artillery of the Automata.

'''Vermin''' are the foot soldiers of the Automata.

'''Other Automata'''

'''Lightning Hounds''' are robotic wolf-like hounds built by the Silver Lord, designed to attack quickly and inspire terror. They have no legs, but utilize static/magnetic levitation propulsion system. The ensuing electric arcs make the Hounds look like they have legs, sometimes four or eight. Lightning Hounds are equipped with sharp fangs, electric shocks, and sonic 'howl' disruptors.

'''''Notable independent Mechanics:'''''
* ''Iason Sanguine'' is a cursed Mechanic. Trapped within his mechanical body is a malevolent Signal Spirit. His cyborg body that replaces everything but half his torso and his left leg and arm. The command code is locked deep within his mind, and if they were to escape, Scourge would cannibalize his parts and wrack havoc. Iason has flame weaponry (flamethrowers, incendiary charges, Greek fire shots, heat wall), is able to disrupt machines, and is a skilled sword-fighter with his cane. He possesses a motorcycle. Iason always dresses well, usually in a suit with flame-patterns, and resembles a forty-year-old man with brown hair and white streaks, with dark black tattoos on his body and arms.
** ''Scourge'' is the signal spirit trapped within Iason Sanguine's mechanical body. Corrupted by memes and viruses, Scourge the Legion exists to cause trouble. Scourge resembles a tall and sinuous androgynous humanoid with porcelain skin, horns, clawed fingers, talons, metal spheres in its hands, and pure golden eyes. Scourge is extremely intelligent, charismatic, is able to warp emotions, is incredibly agile, fast, and monstrously strong, has a vast sensory array in its metal spheres, fire energy blasts from its eyes, and possesses a very long sword. Scourge is also a skilled weapon-smith, and believes that it serves a mechanical god by the means of propagating and building his deity's body, and does so with inhuman zeal.
* ''Malachi Copper'' is a reclusive Mechanic, living in a mountain cave on the outskirts of a populous city with his newly-wed wife, Susanna Brass. Malachi specializes in forging melee weaponry and armor, but excels most of all in swords. Malachi wears blue overalls, a blue jacket with a heart within a cog sigil, red crystal goggles, gauntlet with electric conduits, has gray metallic skin and brown hair. Aloof, stoic, and quiet, Malachi loves, cares, and expresses himself through actions with hardly any words. Malachi has the ability to channel red-colored electricity through his metallic skin, is very strong and nearly invulnerable, and is a very skilled fighter with his switch-sword.
* ''Susanna Brass'' is a reclusive Mechanic, living in a mountain cave on the outskirts of a populous city with her newly-wed husband, Malachi Copper. Susanna specializes in forging melee weaponry and armor, but excels most of all in swords. Susanna wears a light brown apron-dress, white crystal goggles, has mechanical arms, metal plating in her cheeks, and leg armor, all made with brass. Spunky, friendly, outgoing, and energetic, Susanna is always the first to help, the last to quit, and understands her husband without needing words. Susanna has the ability to command lightning, is very fast, agile, strong, and is a very skilled fighter with her spanner-sword.
* ''Tabitha Guste'' is a reclusive Mechanic, even more so than Susanna or Malachi, but is a good friend of the couple. Tabitha specializes in wind control, and has various wind weapons built into her various armoring such as razor winds, compressed air-cannons, tornado casters, and jet-packs. Tabitha Guste is a very flighty person, extremely random, and has the attention span as well as the energy of a five-year-old. In spite of her limitations, Tabitha is an extremely intelligent scientist and a very resourceful inventor.
* ''Phaeton Arrower'' is a raging cynical and wise-cracking Mechanic, the kind of person who expects the worst and goes and kills it, excelling in ranged weapons and artillery. Phaeton has developed healing nanomachines, flash bang weapons in his eyes, a short sword that emits flame, a guitar that can hypnotize with sub-sonic waves, and a mirror-like which is the delivery system for his altered arrows (flaming, force field, molten metal, heat-seeking, exploding, gravity-crusher, shock-pulse, raining fire, and rocket arrows). Phaeton has long copper wire hair, solid blue eyes, tan skin, bronze plating on his arms and legs, wears a leather jacket, a Samson hat, and tea-shade glasses.
* ''Dr. Mada Metova'' is a reclusive Mechanic, Malachi and Susan's neighbor, practicing exclusively in genetic engineering, bioengineering, surgery, and medicine. Mada has developed a gigantic silver spider-chassis which she uses to get around (she has no lower body) which houses her obsidian scalpels, laser spin-saws, sedative darts, extra metal tendrils, and a constricting glue-fluid squirters. Deep within the cave, glowing blue gestation tubes sit upon an intricate web of plastic, wire, and synthetic plant-life, sleeping within are her clones, her hybrid beings, her necrotic reanimates, and her clockwork creations. Mada is intensely curious, somewhat obsessive, disturbingly cheerful, and filled with starry-eyed amazement. Mada has metal tendrils coiled in spirals for hair, full green eyes, as well as the chassis.
* ''

Then there are the pioneers, who seek to unite martial arts with technology. These '''Fixers''' have not chosen a name, but they are gaining in strength and influence slowly and steadily.
* ''Sidon Gaunt'' - also known as the "Golden-Faced" - is an inventor, master martial artist, and monk. Sidon has a cheerful, lighthearted, warm, kind, and joyful temperament, and is a technical pacifist. Sidon wears saffron robes, a golden plate mask, and his mechanical parts are alloyed in gold, inscribed with holy words and lotus designs carved with white jade. His mechanical parts - which encompass some of his neck, some in his head, some of his chest, arms, legs - has shifting panels that absorb sunlight. The Celestial Bronze Style is fast and deliberate, utilizing lightning-fast mental calculations implemented with metal-crushing blows, used to full efficiency. In addition, he has the power to control light. When he enters meditation and thinks in the language of the spheres, Sidon can create large, life-like, and fluid hard-light constructs, but this process has a straining effect. Sidon has found a way to nullify his presence from technology, and can apply it to others as well.
* ''Gennady Sunxan'' is a fellow pioneer and friend of Sidon's. Where Sidon serves in terms of religious tenants and wisdom, Gennady excels in philosophy. Gennady is a creative, energetic, and good-natured ascetic, with a knack for unpredictable inspiration, being uncontrollable once preoccupied with a project, and for having a book around no matter what he's doing. Gennady has wiry and messy copper-like hair (a natural thing), glowing yellow lines beneath his skin, red crystal lens implants over both his eyes, crystal tubes in his shoulders and forearms, a red gem in his forehead, and gold-brass plates in his cheeks, forehead, shoulders, legs, and feet. Gennady is a master of the Sun Wind Style, which grants him great speed and reaction time, while allowing him to enhance his blows with localized cyclone-strength winds. His implants expel winds at varying speeds that allow him to fire jets of pressurized air, create small vortexes, or just send small breezes. His staff has retractable wings that aid him in flight, a drill, a communicator, and brass rings for prayer. Gennady wears a stylized yellow tunic and pants with orange trimming, orichalcum armored boots and bracers, and a saffron sash embroidered with scripture around his arms.
* ''Embrose Merlyn'' is a young gun in the Mechanic world. Developing liquid metal circuit-board tattoos and skilled in martial arts, Embrose can project a black-hued energy, and prefers to create a gigantic, spiraling drill to ram his opponents. Embrose is tall, wiry, spry, grey-haired and spectacled, has a drill tattoo under his eye, and his augmetics are in his bones, eyes, and chest. Embrose is a cheerful person, rather curious and slightly callous.

* ''Bato Adham Murugan'' - also known as the "War-Horse" for his heroism in many conflicts - is a Mechanic focused towards combat, a musician, and a priest of of the Masagitt Rider Order, a sect of travelling horsemen sages. Bato carries two instrument cases, one ukulele-sized and one guitar-sized. The guitar case holds his white metal, gold-trimmed, orichalcum-reinforced retractable self-arming battle armor, sporting two very large mechanical arms that wield an over-sized axe and cleaver sword, two normal-sized mechanical arms that wield a Monk's Staff and a trident, motorized leg armor that allow him to move at great speeds and kick metal-crushing blows, power gauntlets, a helmet with a horse-head design, and a pack that bears many repeating crossbows firing chain-linked and unfettered arrows. The armor has the ability to rearrange its parts, with a bike mode, a tank mode, a giant mode, and an all-out giant axe mode, steam-smoke emitting from every transformations. The other case simply holds a ukulele, of which he is quite skilled in playing. Bato is a stoic temperate, and quiet man, with a compassionate streak, prone to bouts of poetical loquaciousness, or righteous anger. Bato is a very tall, well-muscled man with long red hair tied in a ponytail, bronze-like skin, and yellow glass eyes, usually wearing a large sandalwood rosary, a white shirt with black pants and jacket and a horse upon a lotus emblem on the back.

* ''Lady Lieutenant Intagra Signum'' is the second-in-command of the Black Star Company and Mechanic. Intagra is a distant, rather cold commander with a strong sense of duty, a no-nonsense demeanor, and a slight air of arrogance. Intagra is also highly cunning, strong-willed, charismatic, perceptive, and does not care of what others think of her. Intagra is a moderately-skilled Mechanic, having developed a sword that can heat itself to very high temperatures, an armor-harness that generates a surrounding field of heat, and jet-boots. Intagra is also a skilled swordswoman and rider. Intagra is a pale, beautiful woman with dark red hair, a graceful figure, yellow eyes, and implants around her neck and wrists. Her heat armor is silver plates with white trimming and purple markings.

* ''Philippe Nox-Poitec'' - also known as "The Watchman" is a hermit Mechanic of Franco, a former national hero, his purview being temporal-spatial mechanics. Philippe is a tall, thin, and bony man, pale white skin, with small strands of wispy white hair trailing under his blank-eyed mask. Philippe is a deeply compassionate person, which proved to be his undoing as his research allowed him to perceive the future, of which he saw only doom. This caused him to lose his mind and go rather mad, plagued by his visions of death and desecration. Philipe has a short memory, and speaks with a tired, scratched, and static-filled deep voice amplified by microphones in his headpiece. Philippe is a brilliant Mechanic, having developed a machine that can penetrate time, built devices in his armor that allow him to teleport, protect him from harm, move at blinding speeds, turn invisible, null all surrounding sound, slow down the perception of time, and grants him enhanced strength for an hour. His sword in the shape of a clock-hand can fire bolts of rapid-aging energy that can rot any weapon it touches, and his staff with a crystal hourglass can cast fields of chronal stasis. Philippe usually dresses in blued-metal armor with gleaming circuitry, black markings with clock, cog, and hourglass emblems, a black robe underneath, a broad straw hat, a blued-metal face-concealing helmet with gleaming white eyes, and covers himself with bandages to protect his frail skin.

'''''The City-State of Fargo'''''\\

Unbeknownst to the world, the Syndicate is manufacturing and supplying Tomas Rapid-Rifle (their version of Thompson Machine Guns, also the only rapid-fire weapons so far) to the secret armies of the Five - a cabal who manipulated events that formed the Concordance for their own ends - which makes many other nations rather nervous.

'''Trade:''' Wheat, electrical devices, and Tomas Rapid-Rifle (although distribution is suspended for now). \\
'''Government:''' \\
'''Geographical features:''' The city has many tall buildings, and its natural weather effects ensures that there is always some kind of wind blowing all year round. Because of this peculiar trait, many of Fargo's buildings are inhabited windmills, which harvests electrical energy and grinds wheat from its surrounding fields.\\
'''Religion:''' \\
'''Culture and Customs:''' A new kind of music - Jass music - is gaining popularity in Fargoan nightclubs. Reptils are treated as second-class citizens, with segregation in public areas.

'''''The Security Forces ("S-Men"):'''''
* ''Davin Zong'' - "The Divine Traveller" - is the current Captain of the Fargo Security Forces, as well as a practitioner of the Riding Wind Style. Davin is a tall, lean man with long limbs, a long face, a wide mouth, a lantern jaw, short black hair and bright yellow eyes. Davin is an easy-going man, with the manner of a teacher, a jaunty air, a strong sense of duty, and an enjoyment of warm wine. Davin has amazing strength, speed, and reflexes, is an expert bare-handed fighter, and his favorite attack is a drop side-kick. Davin usually wears a pinstripe suit with a brown coat, a fedora, leather boots with horse-head metal plates, heavy red leather gloves, and a scarlet scarf.
* ''Larry O'Kui'' - "The Black Whirlwind" -
* ''Elias Ness'' "The Bat-man" is a senior officer of the Fargo Security Forces, a Lieutenant. Elias is a short, thin man with long arms, sandy brown hair, solid black eyes, and a wrinkled round face. Elias is a wise, kind, tired fifty-year-old-man, one who has spent many of his years in constant combat and has paid for it. Elias is not a Mechanic, his odd physiology enabling him to use his psychic abilities without limitations, which has taken its toll upon his body. Elias has the ability to communicate telepathically, control medium-sized objects with his mind telekinetically, transfer his own feelings of great despair in others, and unleash devastating waves of psychic energy (which could currently kill him from the strain). Elias also carries a Tomas Rapid-Rifle and a titanium bat. Elias commonly wears a faded brown suit with a blue shirt and a patched red tie, an old baseball cap upon his head.

'''Duelists''' are psionic martial artists. Like the Mechanics, Duelists also suffer the Wasting, but combat it in a different way. By practicing martial arts endlessly and learning to control one's self, Duelists learn to alter their bodies internally to process the psychic energy, becoming superhuman martial artists. Not all touched by the Severed may have the tenacity, skill, talent, or the strength needed to learn martial arts, and so many instead turn to Mechanic mentors. A Duelist that takes on inclinations of building may have been more suited to the role of a Mechanic, and Mechanics that find themselves preferring physical combat could serve better as Duelists. But when one chooses either way, there is no turning from it. \\
Many Duelists form societies within societies, known collectively as the "'''Underworld'''", where honor, righteousness, loyalty, and individualism in all its values are prized, where martial artists raise schools and clans, and where the only justice is meted out from the clash of opponents and the spilling of blood. '''Cultures and Customs''': Martial artists tend to consider combat to be a spiritual exercise, and thus have more in common with other martial artists (even hostile ones) than they do with the ordinary people. Most martial artists also have a genuine curiosity regarding others like themselves; when they aren't fighting each other, they swap stories over liquor about where they studied, what techniques they learned, why they were called into combat, and other martial arts in action that they've seen. Travelers from distant lands carry more stories, too. Martial artists find themselves traveling often for new techniques to learn and adversaries to best. The greatest and most renowned teachers attract eager students throughout the world, even from the most distant and strange of locales. \\
As martial artists gain a reputation for combat prowess, they find that other martial artists and would-be students will seek them out for training. The longer one's career is, the more they are expected to take on students. Aged martial artists who refuse to train students are seen as selfish or a sign that they have not yet reached mastery. \\
Many masters take ordinary activities and turn them into exercises. For example, one might teach calligraphy to develop wrist control. Over time, the brush used is changed to longer and heavier ones, until perhaps it is as long and heavier as a sword, or even more. A fighter also needs to stay alert at all times. Many masters launch or assign other students to ambush other students. Apart from the training aspect, it's fun (at least for the ambusher). It also injects healthy competition into the training regimen, as the thought of sweet revenge helps motivate students to train harder. Duelist martial artists are taught how to feel the psychic energy moving through their bodies as they meditate, perform katas and forms, and even when breathing. More importantly, the students recognize their bodies' ''Tangents'', centers where the points intersect and force accumulates. Once students understand the energy flowing in-and-around their bodies, they practice controlling them. The students concentrate their energy in one Tangent after another, first while meditating, then while performing katas. When students can make their energy surge into their hands when they strike, are well on their way. When masters believe that their students have sufficiently mastered the basic moves and principles of a martial art, the sparring begins. In the merely physical stages of training, students attack and defend in brief exchanges of maneuvers. As they gain experience, they engage in real contests against each other. Depending on the master's temperament, sparring matches can range from carefully controlled drills where everyone wears padded safety gear to no-holds-barred, bloody brawls. \\
Combat prowess, though the chief source of respect, is not the only one. Martial artists also admire good sportsmanship, graciousness, tenacity, selfless courage, and wise use of power. Being vicious, cruel, and brutal provides some degree of respect as well, but mostly fear. Martial artists challenge each other for respect and to gauge combat prowess. Friendly challenges are treated as a sport, a session of training, a chance to learn something, and are signaled by honorifics as well as a clasped hand salute where both palms are pressed flat against each other before bowing deeply. A challenge for an increase in reputation, however, means that neither combatant are going to hold back, and are signaled by a clasped fist salute where the left hand wraps the right fist before they bow. A duel to the death is signaled by the right hand wrapping the left fist in salute without bowing. If one refuses a challenge, others would think him a coward, which tarnishes his reputation. The exceptions to the rule exist for true masters; they do not need to fight others to recognize their abilities, as one master may gauge another's prowess by how they walk or pour their tea. \\
Martial artists and fighters of all kinds flock throughout Terra to tournaments where they can face each other in battle. The victor's prize might be nothing more than the crowd's acclaim to an artifact or a fortune. Heads of state can use a tournament to find skilled warriors to act as their bodyguards, combat instructors, or assassins. \\
Marriage between two martial artists usually involves a duel-dance between the bride and groom, usually using dulled blades, lightened flails, and other "safe" weapons. Family costumes for the occasion have sometimes been handed down for centuries from father-to-son, mother-to-daughter. Each move is rehearsed and pre-planned long before the ceremony, the dance itself meant to exhibit grace, coordination, synchronization, and being fit for the other partner. At times, the guests jump into the staging grounds and attack the bride and groom, in which case it is the couple's role to work together in the spur-of-the-moment to protect each other. The dance ends in a perfect stalemate, with flails wrapped around flails, staves locked together, swords sheathed in each other's sheath, both partners arm-locking each other, or some other standstill that leaves both partners close together intimately. They then kiss and are declared married, while the watching guests enter the grounds (or get up) and congratulate the couple.

'''The Eight Immortal Fists'''\\
The Eight Immortal Fists are some of the oldest, wisest, powerful, learned, and elusive Duelists in the world. They have lived for centuries, defeated some of the strongest Sauri fighters, laid waste to entire armies by their individual selves (in their own way), taught thousands of students, and have held many positions of honor everywhere they go.

* ''Yulian Lee'' - also known as "The Angry Cripple" - is also the head of the Beggar's Guild, and a master of the Drunken Vagabond Style. Yulian is an ill-tempered trickster with a rather silly sense of humor, but feels great obligation to his beggars, great compassion to the poor, sick, and needy. The Drunken Vagabond Style trains the martial artist in the use of one or a pair of razor-spiked crutches as well as a staff, and trains the reflexes, balance, and agility so that even a one-legged man can hop at great speeds without stopping. Yulian is also a brilliant chemist, herbalist, and dog-handler, a pack of mongrel hounds constantly following him. The Angry Cripple resembles a forty-year-old, medium-sized man, missing a leg, with a dirt-flecked ugly face, a dark complexion, a golden head band over messy brown hair, lazy eyes, scarred hands, and a wide mouth. John typically dresses in an open tattered shirt, a patched brown suit, a battered top hat with a faded yellow kerchief, bearing an old wine-gourd which contains concealing smoke, a wicker fan, and an iron crutch.
* ''Xylia Heras'' - "The Eternal Lady" is an honored elder of the Musician's Guild, and practices masterfully the Vital Blade Style. Xylia is compassionate and caring, but at the same is rather flighty and forgetful, a dear friend of orphans and forsaken children. The Vital Blade allows Xylia to assume a semi-material form for short periods of time in which nothing can harm her, fly for short distances, generate sonic waves, regenerate small amounts of lost tissue, and direct the actions of birds. Xylia is also a very skilled doctor and medical examiner. The Eternal Lady resembles a beautiful fifty-year old woman with porcelain skin, no hair upon her head aside from an exquisite braid down her nape, painted eyebrows, a long thin scar down her cheek, and a rather thin figure. Xylia usually wears a white gown with a green-hooded robe, bandages down her arms, and bears a horse-tail whisk that she uses as a whip, reed pipes, and long thin sword with a lotus-shaped guard.
* ''Gortman "Uncle Buddy" Cao'' - also a famed adjudicator - is also a master of the Fiery Judge Style. Gortman is just, kind, jolly, stern at times, and a strong-willed environmentalist. The Fiery Judge Style uses a tablet as a form weapon for smashing and throwing, grants great strength and endurance, and allows the martial artist to ignite the air itself and send forth a wave of fire. Uncle Buddy resembles a tremendously-fat man of great age, with a messy purple beard and hair, and twinkling golden eyes. Gortman wears brown-red robes with a wide-brimmed black hat, and bears a castanet that he uses to attract the attention of the inattentive as well as distract opponents as well as a jade tablet that is able to link to the Aether.
* ''Lanza Caher'' - "The Balladeer" - Lanza is an androgynous member of the Eight Immortal Fists, a master of the Flipside Style, and either the oldest or the youngest master. Lanza is fun-loving, and possesses dual personalities, one who is well-meaningly mischievous, and another who is nasty and callous. The Flipside Style teaches a fighter to sing hypnotic songs, trains them in the use of the drum to locate objects by sound, toughens their constitutions to endure nearly any element, move quickly and swiftly, and strike unexpectedly with a knife. Lanza resembles a very young boy or girl with pale skin, long black hair, and solid green eyes. Lanza wears a ragged blue gown, a single steel-toed boot, and bears a flower basket with a wooden knife hidden within.
* ''Donald "Alchemy Jones" Jones'' Donald is a world-renowned poet, master martial artist of the Fragrant Sword Style, and swordsman. Donald is compassionate and wise, while still being a drunkard, womanizer, and is prone to one-sided, long-winded, tangentially-related conversations. Donald once had a trigger-hair temper, and is utterly ashamed of it. Alchemy Jones is capable of reading movements, deflecting bullets with his blade, predicting his opponent's movements, walking upon water and sheer surfaces, warping basic matter, and healing the wounds of others with but a touch. Donald also possesses eidetic memory, is a brilliant compositor as well as poet, and possesses lore from thousands of sources. Donald resembles a medium-sized sixty-year-old man with shining golden hair and mustache, possesses an eternal natural perfumed smell, and dresses in smart purple suits with a cream straw hat and a crook-sword-cane.
* ''Hanford Xander'', also known as "The Sophist", is a master of the Song's Edge Style and a world-class scholar. Hanford is a hedonist, utterly loves the sound of music, but beneath the mask of a drunkard is a strong-willed and persuasive politician and diplomat. The Song's Edge refers to the custom-built dual-bladed long straight knife, with a sandalwood hilt that slides to-and-fro freely up-and-down the blade. By placing one's fingers in the right positions like a flute, the martial artist can control the length of the blade, extending and retracting fluidly and musically. When swung by an adept, the blade sings a single note of piercing harmony. The style also teaches the martial artist great speed, reflexes, agility, and flexibility. Hanford resembles a slightly-fattening twenty-five-year-old scholar with whitening temples, brown hair, a thin face, bright blue eyes, and wears a pinstripe brown suit with a metal half-mask and a red scarf.
* ''Gregor Zhan'' - "Elder Beere" - is a master of the Winery's Delightful Fist Style (often simply shortened to "The Wine Fist") and a legendary master of the Brewer's Guild. Gregor is legendary drunk, with tales told of his inebriated songs and mental unhingement but is at the same time kind and caring. The Wine Fist grants great strength, the ability to move at great speed and great agility regardless of girth, strike blows that can crush steel, survive long periods of time without food or water, and channel electricity into attacks. He also is a very acute taster, herbalist, and bomb-smith. Gregor resembles a seven-feet-tall eighty-year-old man, with amazing and seemingly-healthy obesity, a short-cropped beard, a balding head, and watery eyes. Gregor wears a black cap with a pinstripe white shirt and dark brown vest, pants, and shoes, usually riding a great white mule backwards.
* ''Liryle Zongman'' - also known as "The Sunstar" - is an abbot of a large monastery, a master of the Heavenly Sky Style. Liryle is a very internal, passive, and enigmatic person, constantly meditating, without humor, speaks only in monosyllables, but is still a strong and gentle defender of the downtrodden. The Heavenly Sky Style allows the ability to control wind in gusts or very small cyclones, emit blinding light, strike the nerve-points of opponents, move with great speed, and stand nearly immovable. Liryle is a tall, muscular man of indeterminate age, with blank yellow eyes, golden curly hair, beard, and mustache, bronze skin. Liryle wears an abbot's robe and headdress, and bears a mirror fan.

'''The Five Venoms'''\\
The Five Venoms are expert martial artists who seek power, strength, and supremacy over all other martial artists. The Five Venoms are actually titles that are passed down from master-to-student, pupils "graduating" when they defeat and kill their teacher in single combat. Venom training is rather harsh and inhuman, with several masters willing to sacrifice their students in pursuit of even higher power. Few survive, if at all. Because of the hostile relationship between masters and students, their relentless pursuit of power and practicing of forbidden techniques, the Five Venoms are usually rejected and shunned, which only serves to strengthen their resolves and deepen their bitterness.

'''''Current Students:'''''
* ''Lou "Centipede" Kade'' is a student of the Many-Handed Millipede Style. Lou is a highly impulsive, hasty, and impatient individual, with an extreme competitive streak and prone to playing the sore loser. The Many-Handed Millipede Style trains the speed of the upper body until one is able to catch bullets, and allows the fighter to strike rapidly and swiftly, using multiple upon multiple strikes to incapacitate opponents. Its form weapon is a sharp whip and a pair of steel gauntlets, both laced with poison that inflict debilitating pain. Lou is a medium-sized man with a thin frame with ragged eyebrows, brown eyes, and brown hair, usually wearing a leather jacket, a white shirt, black cotton pants with leather chaps, and a cap folded out of a brown paper bag.
* ''Walter Braco'' - also known as "The Snake" - is a student of the True-Striking Serpent Style. Walter is a manipulative and proud person, prone to hiding things for his own benefit, sneakiness, and arrogance. The True-Striking Serpent Style trains the martial artist to strike the nerve and tangent points, grants great strength in the index fingers, and grants great speed. The Serpent form weapons are dual sickles and finger-claws, but it has been common practice for Snakes to carry a needle-launcher laced with the same nausea-inducing poison as the form weapons. Walter is a tall, lithe man with long fingers and limbs, short purple hair, green eyes, sallow cheek-bones, and usually wears blue light steel armor with a snake-headed helmet, and a leather buff coat.
* ''Sunny Sorisa'' - "The Scorpion" - is a student of the Terror-Dancing Stinger Style. Sunny is at least somewhat mentally unhinged, seeing everything as either an opera or a ballet and all people as dancers and actors, making her rather detached to reality. In addition, she is highly strong-willed, stubborn, and is prone to mood-swings. The Terror-Dancers train their bodies to inhuman flexibility, speed, reflexes, and agility, their joints to contort in any way they wish, their hands to strike like spears, and their arms to clench like pincers, able to crush metal with time. The form weapons (or "props," as she calls them), are a pair of retractable bladed dancing shoes and a pair of short razor-whips, all coated with a poison that inflicts its victims with accelerated fever. Sunny is a beautiful and graceful woman with rose-like red hair, a slender frame, almost-white blond hair, scarlet eyes, usually wearing a short red dress with elegantly-beaded dancinge shoes and opera gloves.
* ''Kuno "Gecko" Morry'' is a student of the Disrupting Reptile Style. Kuno is an impulsive trickster, extremely talkative, mentally unhinged, and tends to hit-and-run for laughs, look upon the world of up-turned sheer surfaces as his own world, and look down upon everyone who does not share his "world." The Disrupting Reptiles are renowned for their amazing speed, agility, flexibility, reflexes, and the ability to climb walls and scale sheer surfaces as well as heal wounds with very quickly. The form weapons are thrown chakrams that can be used as curved knives in close combat, laced with a paralytic poison. Kuno is dressed entirely in green-tinged light steel armor with a gecko motif from head-to-toe, his inner appearance an utter mystery.
* ''Loman Magar'' - also known as "The Toad" - is a student of the Iron-Bodied Croaker Style. Loman is extremely slow-witted, dim-minded, stubborn, but is also extremely loyal and protective, and feels great affection towards Sunny. The Iron-Bodied Croaker teachers its practitioners how to take a shield stance that makes them nearly immovable, how to expel a highly-oily sweat that makes crushing punches into slipping and glancing blows, grants a tough hide that cannot be pierced by normal blades or bullets, as well as grants amazing strength in the arms, legs, and crown of the head, often finishing their enemies with a human cannonball maneuver. The style has no form weapons, but Loman carries several gas bombs that deaden pain and eventually remove all sensation from all who breathe in its fumes. Loman is a tall, stout, and extremely fat man with a balding head, yellow-tinged skin, small eyes set deeply inside his head, and usually wears a yellow jumpsuit.

* ''Brigit "Madame Blaze" Blaze'' is a grandmother, one of the most honored Underworld Elders, and one of the most experienced Duelists in the world. As a master of the Phantom Inferno Style, Brigit is very strong, agile, and durable despite her size and frame, has the ability to bend the flames emitted from her specially-altered Ashwood staff to her will, is a deadly thrower of knitting needles, and fights with a reflexive, deliberate style that does the most damage with the least energy. Brigit is a placid, soft-voiced, matronly old woman when dealing with things that aren't trying to kill her, but a slightly-angry, determined, loud fighter to those things that ''are.'' Brigit resembles a very aged woman bent double with age (an act; she can stand up to four-and-a-half feet tall), with white hair, wrinkled brown skin that glows at night, bright yellow eyes, and wears simple red-purple robes with her curled Ashwood walking stick.
* ''Percy Vale'' - "The Blind Knight" - is a blind martial artist and a practitioner of the Eyeless Whip Style, being extremely agile and acrobatic, having the ability to see things slightly before they happen, locate objects through echoes, striking with whip-like blows and kicks, and wielding a rope dart or a bladed nunchaku. Croesus is stoic, sullen, quiet, valorous, and convicted. Croesus is tall with a very muscular frame, has dirty yellow hair, beard, and mustache, and wears steel greaves, bracers, as well as a leather apron and pants.
* ''Cale Arachnus'' - "The Spider" - is a former soldier of the Georgiosan military, and a practitioner of the Silk Spider Style, which gives him amazing agility, speed, reflexes, the ability to leap great distances, and uses two short swords in conjunction with the two mechanical spiders on his hands that spin razor wire, using that to swing the blades around, ensnare and cut opponents, or grab objects. His gloves also possess hooks in the fingers that he can use to snag, climb, and otherwise handle the wire safely. Cale is young, brash, happy-go-lucky and cheerful. Cale has black hair, brown-almond eyes, a slender frame, and wears steel armor painted red with a spider design.
* ''Lian Nich'' - also known as the "White-Haired Bride" - is the head of the Ivory Knife Sect and a practitioner of the Silken Lash Style. Lian is a strong-willed, heart-broken woman who fears being hurt and possesses a slight hatred of men. The Silken Lash Style grants great joint dexterity and speed, and allows the martial artist to use the hair as a weapon, be it as a whip, a blade, a fan, a choke-wire, armor, hammer, net, noose, beacon, or web. The style also strengthens the hair to the strength of steel while keeping its suppleness and snake-like flexibility. The form weapons are a long silk scarf or ribbon with two short swords. Lian has an androgynous, slender figure with very long white hair, pale skin, white eyes, and sharp cheekbones. Lian usually dresses in flowing robes of white and black.
* ''Joey Hang'' - "The Barber" - is the head of the Martial Being Sect, practitioner of the Shearing Blade Style, and former lover of Lian Nich. Joey is a melancholy, depressed man with many regrets, seeking death right after he saves this set of people (which is often). The Shearing Blade style uses a giant pair of scissors that separate into a pair of slashing swords, and grants the user the ability to cut through steel, strike accurate blows, and move fluidly. Joey is a medium-sized man with reddish hair and beard, and typically wears a brown suit.
* ''Reul La-Brock'' is a nomadic, treasure-hunting Duelist and a master of the Silver Shovel Style from Franco. Reul is a cheerful old man with a helplessly covetous nature, interested in any kind of goods or items that can be resold. For Reul, every decision to be made must first be analyzed, weighing the cost to his wallet (and sometimes his friends). In spite of his miserly and conniving ways, Reul is still a compassionate, loyal, and kind old man, never one to sell his martial prowess, and has been infected his whole life with wanderlust and a love of excitement, although he has of late taken to acting senile and forgetful. As a master of the Silver Shovel, Reul is both stronger and faster than his age might suggest, wielding his silver orichalcum-cored shovel as a polearm, sword, and javelin, and is able to use any kind of coin as both a close-contact and ranged weapon. Coupled with his deadly reflexes and cunning, Reul is one of the most formidable Duelists in the world. Reul is also a skilled survivalist, archeologist, tracker, prospector, and possesses great stores of knowledge and wealth (both of which he is loathe to part with).

Amongst his treasures are a gigantic magpie that he keeps as a pet and mount, as well as a gun that fires bursting projectiles that resemble eggshells. Reul is a short old man with spotted skin, bushy eyebrows, a large and untidy snow-white beard, and a speckled bald head. Loman is a tall, stout, and extremely fat man with a balding head, yellow-tinged skin, small eyes set deeply inside his head, and usually wears a yellow jumpsuit.

'''Gophi''' are three-to-five feet tall humanoids similar in ability and appearance to rodents.
